Pokémon Black/White in-game discussion

You can get other orbs and still get what you want. It's determined by which orb you collected most of. I got myself a Leafeon.

You realize if you wanted Espeon in the first place you could have just caught all the psychic orbs (and ingored every other orb) and earned it on the first try right? ;)

I didn't realize it when I started, and on my second run I was hesitating between Flareon and Espeon.
Since DW Flareon doesn't get Superpower, I kinda went for Espeon anyway.

Is it worth getting a Conkeldur in-game, or should I just wait for a Mienshao? I just finished the Iccirus gym, and am looking for a fighting-type for my team. Any other suggestions, maybe?

If you're willing to level a Mienfoo to level 50 and evolve it, and you want a Mienshao, then go and catch a Mienfoo on the route between Icirrus and Dragonspiral Tower. It's available, and 50 probably isn't that hard to train to.

Anything works in-game, it's "in"-game after all, but I suggest having Conkeldurr having Mienshao if you're going for bulk and power since Mienshao can be a bit frail at times, though speedy. Both of 'em are really viable options, though.

Only the Vaporeon and Espeon are worth getting anyway. Quick Feet Jolteon is redundant, Flareon can't use Flame Orb, lolUmbreon, lolGlaceon, and Leafeon is outclassed by Saur. :/

Conkeldurr > Mienshao. Comes way earlier and has better bulk and power.

Quick Feet Jolteon isn't entirely redundant; switch into a Thunderwave/Toxic/Will o Wisp and you can have LO Jolteon with scarf Jolteon's speed, which can't be bad. Though you'll either die quickly to recoil/poison/burn damage, or have to gamble on not being fully paralysed...
And Guts Flareon could always use a Toxic Orb. Though it's still hurting for good STAB attacks.

But, yeah, why bother with the rest when you can have the best? Magic Bounce ftw!

Interesting how Leafeon and Glaceon are the hardest to get, since you have fewer levels where their orb is available. I guess they show up in the order they debuted in the 1st to 4th gen games.

Why didn't you just get sawk early on? I think he's the best in-game fighting type in BW, because he gets good moves and is a monster against the E4. Plus, sturdy is really useful

I tried catching one, but a paralized one at like 2 HP kept escaping from my Great Balls (TWSS), so I just left it be. I don't really like it either, but I could see it work pretty well though.

I really didn't think that Sawk and Throh would end up being that good.
Did anyone try using a Scrafty?

As far as fighting types went Emboar was pretty good early on, but during the elite four he just did not have the bulk to stay useful.

According to Serebii quick feet does not activate during paralysis.

Unrelated, does anyone here know how to catch reshiram/zekrom, keep it in your party, and not have it come out first?

Pretty sure that you can't. If it's in your party, either because you have an open slot, or because you switched something for it, it's first. Some silly plot thing.

Quick Feet does activate during paralysis. It overrides the speed drop just as how Guts overrides burn's attack drop.

And Guts Flareon loses Superpower, is still stuck with Fire Fang, and Toxic Orb has less survivability than Flame Orb. Flareon also doesn't get U-Turn, so it can't do a Swellow and spam Guts U-Turn throughout the match.

Second runthrough:
I'm at the eighth gym right now, Team of Darmanitan/Archeops/Maractus/Klang/Siglyph/Scrafty.
Darumakka is horribly overated, hustle is a NIGHTMARE and makes it totally unreliable, but It's awesome once it evolves. Good moves from level 30+ especially but getting it there can be a challenge.
Archeops is the epitome of a glass cannon, it 1-2hkos the whole game with Acrobat above 50%, but below that there are issues.
Maractus is incredible so far. Once it gets Giga drain at I think lvl26 it solo'd half of elesa's gym, not even being 2hkoed with ariel ace and then healing back up. It also beat almost all of clay's gym on its own, though It didn't do much in the flying one. One you get Petal Dance at 38 it basically comes down to whether they can kill you before you attack if they don't resist. REALLY pleased with the cactus. Plus acupressure is fun.
Klang was a pain to evolve at first but Gear Grind is a really nice move and once it evolves it has considerable power. Steel type is always nice too.
Siglyph is very consitent, it does a good job of denting just about everything. mostly 2hko's though. It has good speed even though mine relaxed, to.
Finally, we come to scrafty. OMG Moxie! Ridiculous ability. Hi-jump kick at 31 is always nice, and free boost for killing stuff is awesome. It is slow though, so try to avoid flying types.

Can sum1 tell me where to catch a dwebble pls? i really wanna catch one, but damn, i never ran into a wild one. I know its suppose to come in the desert, but i searched for it for over an hour......... Does it only come in a specific part of the desert or something? or is it just that rare?

Scrafty is amazing. I got a moxie one, it takes hits like a champ and dishes out absolute pain. Once you've downed one or 2 pokes, it's unstoppable. Within Unova, its STABs are unresisted until post-game. It gets HJK and Crunch in the 30s and once that happens you're sorted. Very reliable, great poke.

Darmanitan is just like, holy shit. OHKO in everything O_O
Galvantula is also amazing, you can get Joltik in Chargestone cave. It's a pain to train because it is very frail, but one you teach it Thunder, gg.
Haxorus also rapes the entire game with one DD up XD
Has anyone ever tried Zoroark in game? How hard is it to train and get nice moves?

It's in the Desert Resort only, not the route. A 10% encounter if you're in the right place, so you've probably been looking in the WRONG place.

(It can also be found out on Route 18, but that's only good once you have Surf.)

So when does the game save after you beat team Plasma? I beat the elite 4, beat N, beat the team Plasma leader, then it went straight to the credits. I assumed it auto saved before the credits like every other game, but apparently I was wrong because now I have to beat the elite 4 again!

you find him in desert resort and he has like a 10% chance of appearing.

I used Zoroark in game. I used my Celebi to get the Zorua early in Castelia City. It was Rash so I kept it. It doesn't really start out with any good moves (I taught it Retaliate and Grass Knot). Once it gets Faint Attack and Night Slash though, it can be a bit better. Overall Zoroark was good for me, it helped a lot vs the Psychic and Ghost trainers for the Elite Four

Alright, so.

Sign if you were one of the people who filled all 24 boxes in your PC just to get a Dragonspiral Tower Zekrom/Reshiram.
