5th Gen PRNG Help / Info - Latest: RNG Reporter 9.96.5, PPRNG 1.15.0

I am also trying to RNG my TID/SID

no matter what time I choose to start the game it wont find any results after I hit the find seed hit button. I entered everything correctly so I assume I am doing something else wrong.

if I up the max frame it does find a few results. But even so, like Kieban said, how can you make sure to hit the frame you want if you have no way of progressing the frame?

I'm going to try to hit this (ID/SID Abuse):

Seed: 3258EDD89C9FDFE4
Date: 4/6/2011
Time: 00:09:24
Frame: 33
ID/SID: 48636/49665
Starter: True
Button: None

What does the bolded part mean?

Its the frame you'd need to hit.

It's Pandora's ID frame, in Researcher it's frame 34.

Be careful, that frame might be too low to hit. My initial ID frame for my snivy was 36, so I wouldn't be able to hit 33!

I've been following bearsfan's videos that he posted and I have all that down but I'm trying to apply it to wild pokemon now.

Is there anyway to figure out which pokemon you're going to run into after using sweet scent? I'm trying to rng a scraggy but he doesn't always come up after sweet scent, so it's kind of annoying when trying to get the right nature.
Generate your seed, right click a nature frame you want to hit and calculate encounter slots. Find Scraggy's encounter slot, linked on the first page.

Saying no to "Is your name XXXX?" advances the frame by 1 for ID abuse.
Saving the game advances the PIDRNG by 1, for when you are abusing your shiny starter frame.

Hidden Power is determined by IVs, so no, it's impossible to get fully flawless with HP Ice. You want 31/30/30/31/31/31 (best HP Ice spread with max Speed). As you probably won't be using its Attack stat, an IV of 2, 6, 10, 14, 18, 22, or 26 in Attack will also yield HP Ice 70.

Thank you so much. I kind of figured that was the case with flawless pokes. Not an issue for pokes that really don't utilize HP, but in this case, it is. Especially since I want a Thundurus with HP Ice.

@Kaphotics - Thanks for the step by step instructions. Unfortunately, I can't really restart my game at this point. Still, I will note it for future use.

No, power item forces the first IV inherited to be as specified by the held item/parent. Then 2 more follow from the RNG.

Okay got what your saying now.

So how do you end up getting those
31/31/31/x/31/31 spreads?

Sorry for so many question I could RNG on D/P at will, but this time its really taking sometime for me to understand RNG when it comes to Eggs abuse

Because your standard seed is what determines your random IDs.

Keibin, see my post on the previous page about how to advance the frame for IDs.

I hit my seed and advanced the frame to a shiny jolly wild spread. I wasn't using a synchronizer. When I caught the pokemon, it was the correct iv's nature and gender for the seed, but not shiny. I know my id/sid are right because I bred a shiny. Any ideas?

Oh that makes sense.

Is there a specific thing I need to do when putting in information into the seed finder? It doesn't find results lower than frame 100, and they usually aren't the right button I pressed.

Just to be sure, button = the button you hold during the white screen right?

ok but I still have a couple problems. First I'm having trouble figuring out which nature frame I'm starting on. I caught a few and recorded their natures, but when I generate the seed I can't find the same sequence, theres so many results to look through.

and second what exactly does the encounter slot mean? It says 32 for scraggy, but when I calculate the encounter slot I'm getting low numbers like 0 or 1.

Where is the nearest seed with the same nature/ability/gender? Also, are you advancing the frame? Or just the PID frame?

The IV frame is on 1, so I'm just sweet scenting from where I start. The jolly F I land on is my shiny frame, 71. There weren't any other jolly F within 50 frames either way I think. I'm using chatots to advance the PID frame.

Alright, maybe someone can help...here's the seed first of all:

A4B6122C7A42D83C

So using Method5 PIDRNG, I've been trying to see what my frame is so I can figure out how many saves I need to hit for my desired nature, but after wasting an hour digging through 12000+ frames, I have yet to see the damn sequence of Calm-Relaxed-Calm anywhere.

I have a syncher in my party but it hasn't been in the active position when I found out the 3 above natures, so that shouldn't be affecting anything right? I'm also inside the relic castle for what it's worth, and everything was done properly (set to wild pokemon encounters, etc etc).

Seriously, it'd be nice if rng reporter had an option to search out sequences of natures, because at this point I'm not sure if I might have blown by it last night when I was digging through the frames.

I'm not sure if this would be any different, but you could try saving/turning?

Do you know what PID frame you started on? Remember that it doesn't start at 1.

Is there an accurate number on how many PID frames advance when riding on a bike in a cave? I ask because I'm trying to search for a shiny seed that has a specific encounter slot. I already searched once and didn't find what I wanted. So I'm gonna try seaching with a higher IV Frame so I'll also have to increase the shiny frame. No steps is 40-60, so I basically want to know the PID frame range after walking 384 steps, 512 steps, 640 steps, etc.

I use this post from Toast. It's not 100% but it should help you determine a range. Make sure you take the same exact path every time since turning also advances the frame.

I've been looking into the frame advancements, encounters and shaking spots.
I should note that all of these are related to the PID RNG.

Advancements:

Movement:
  • Moving of any sort in areas with wild Pokemon is +2.
  • After an encounter, you can turn without stepping for a +1 advancement.
  • Turning and moving while running only counts as 1 movement, not 2. Biking, walking and surfing all count as 2.
  • The game advances +1 for every 20 steps in all places.
  • The game also advances +1 every 17 steps in or around grass.
[*]There is a 3rd method of advancement that I haven't been able to determine. These combined are what create the unpredictability.
  • Turning in grass is the only consistent way to advance the frame besides saving (and chatots).

Patches:
Although these have appeared to be consistent, the game has been trolling me and things that seemed consistent were only so for a few hours.
  • Grass: +3 (4 in total when adding in normal advancement.)
  • Cave: +1 (2 in total when adding in normal advancement.)
  • Water Spot: +2 (3 in total when adding in normal advancement.)

Calculations:

Wild Encounter - Credit also goes to Bond697 here.
if (([n+2] >> 60) == 0) encounter. (1 in 16 steps)

There is also a flag here that makes sure you've made a complete step before allowing another encounter.

Shaking Patch & Water Spot Appearance
if((([n+1] >> 60) == 0) && ((stepcounter % 20) == 0)) create spot (1 in 320 steps)

It's also a good way to verify non-C-Gear seeds, as mattj pointed out before. Now we can tell when they'll appear.

Do you know what PID frame you started on? Remember that it doesn't start at 1.

Yeah, I calibrated my PID frame to start at 49 by catching 3 Pokemon after advancing 0 1 and 2 times. So I advanced it 22 times to 71 with the chatots. Nature, gender, and encounter slot was right, but no shiny.

It's in mistralon cave where you catch cobalion.

Ready for this? I did it all perfect, really. But when I landed on frame 43 (Nature is on 44), it still gave me the nature on 43. ID's perfect, IV's perfect, but the nature didn't bump up a frame.

Details below:

8A30480DC1A88164 - 3/22/11 23:21:32 Keypress A

04000 Frame 26
Quirky Frame 41

Target Frame 43 (34334)
Target Timid frame 44

17 No's (Is your name Viss? - Of course not (At least the first 18 times I tell you))
2 saves

P.S. Kap... C7F Seed with a keypress and I didn't fail once. Through calibration or anything. Just thought it might help to let ya' know. Maybe I got lucky, but I hit it 6 or 7 times w/o fail I think

Would multiple tries possibly give a different result?

Initial Frame 41 - Target Frame 44 is 3, not 2 lol

Sorry to bump this again, but can anyone help me with my TID/SID RNG? I am not getting any results even after I input everything correctly.

Or to make it shorter:

The 'time you started your game' is this the time you select B/W from the menu, the time you press new game, or the time it says creating save data after pressing new game?

the button column - is that the button you hold during the white screen or something else?

These are the main two things I am confused about.

There's what I hit, I have those IDs. What is the next step? The Researcher thing is so very confusing to me..

I must have misunderstood. I thought you meant to stop the nature on the same frame as the ID....

Suffice to say... While waiting for your update, I went for 3 saves. And guess what?

SUCCESS! THANK YOU!

Shiny Timid Snivy
31/31/31/31/31/31

I'm in love :D

Now... My next request would be... Figure out 3DS's LOL! I hate luggin' the wife's Pink DS Lite around just lookin' for shinies ;). LOL! (I'm patient really... Though I do look forward to gettin' the 3DS figured out.)

When looking for your choice seed... Just be sure to have the correct parameters and have it set on Wild or Stationary. From there, input the stats you want... And search. You may have to check multiple months, as some may not have what you want.

I, for instance, chose all 31's just for now. Set your min AND max frame to 1. For starters you can't increase the frame (Unless you're not worried about starters).

okay maybe someone can help me out with this part.

So I Start up RNG Reporter hit (Time Finder) Find all my DS Parameters.
After that what do I do in order to Abuse for Eggs?

Do I go to BW(breeding on the main menu of RNG Reporter ? Or Do I use the Time finder option again and look up my egg seed?

Please help me out I been stuck on this part all day.
