5th Gen PRNG Help / Info - Latest: RNG Reporter 9.96.5, PPRNG 1.15.0

Okay...let me trace my steps. I'm (still) going for a Timid Flawless Deino by standard non c gear method by capture in the wild. I am using PPRNG for Mac.

1. Punched in my Mac address (00-23-CC-BF-8A-5F) in the DS Parameter Searcher. Punched in the date and time I was going to start my DS (4/1/2011 at 1:01:23). My version is White English and I'm using a DS Lite. Loaded the game, caught a Pokemon and entered the IVs.

2.Searched Results. Got one result : 5DF156DB74E9B37B, Timer0 = C7F (the only one I ever seem to get), Vcount= 60, VFrame= 6, TIME: 01:01:24

3. Added the parameters to the configuration window.

4. Opened Standard Seed Searcher Window. Punched in IVs (31/0-31/31/31/31), set the dates to search from (4/10-4/30/2011), set minimum and maximum IV frames (1-6), checked "None" and "One" boxes under pressed buttons, and searched.

5. Got six results. I'll post one.

6. Loaded the game one second before the result time (due to the actual second), holding X. Load the game, DID NOT TURN ON C-Gear, and immediately Sweet Scented (my result frame was 1). Ended up catching a Deino Female level 39, Brave Nature, with 25-26/29-31/26-28/5-7/21-23/-8 IVs.

7. Double clicked the result in the searcher to bring up the inspector window. Clicked adjacents tab. Left the Seconds box as 1. Left the PID boxes untouched. Left the IV Frame as 1. Left the Encounter type as Wild Grass/Cave. Generated.

8. Got about 50 or so results. Every single of them has the Timer0 C7F. Only a handful have the IVs I want, and each one has the time and date exactly shown as the result in the searcher. The only difference between the good results is the PID (?) and the nature.


I really need help on this. This is as elaborate as I can get. I have no idea what to do next. :(

So Ive been getting my seed only sometimes now...
It seems when I save in order to advance PID it gives me a Cottonee with the right nature/ability but wrong IVs...

Its 1:46:55 with a delay of 1 so I hit it at X:X:54 but it still only sometimes gives me full IV with wrong nature/ability

Also Im having issues in general with breeding....

When I leave the house (which I have to in order to get the egg) is my PID advanced because of the two guys spinning around in the daycare?

At April 10th, 11:55:30, I started my game and used my sweet scenter to find a wild woobat, which I determined to have a 31/6/21/30/24/1 IV spread. I believe you need to enter your full MAC address.

I had this same problem mate, for me i played around with different combination's of the date\time\seconds until i got results and used my full MAC address. hope this helps you

Can I use Power Items with PID abuse for egg IVs? Or does that mess it up? Like. Can I find a PID that makes 3 IVs inherited and then use a Power Item to make a 4th one passed?

No. The power item will be one of your 3 passed on.

how does one determine whether an NPC will mess up your PID or not? Is it if they don't move at all, then they will not? or is it impossible to tell?

Sure. Like you said, guess and check, trial and error.

We're working on expanding the Chatot method to reduce or even eliminate interference from NPCs, but it's complicated to research so don't hold your breath waiting for it. It'll happen, though.

i can use an AR when finding my parameters on a ds lite correct? i know you cant use an AR when RNGing but was wondering if it went for parameters too.

I started either at second 06 or 07, and I didn't hold any button after loading the game until the "The Pokémon Company" logo appeared (at best, I kept pressing A from force of habit...). Unless Metalkid's IV calculator suddenly started sucking asses, the IVs are right, and I'm sure of my MAC address, my Black's legitimacy and region and my DS being a US Lite version. I don't soft-reset, as my DS can't anymore.

Am I missing something here?


EDIT -- Ehhh I guess I should put the whole MAC address, right... But even then, I get no results (001656bb77f7).

So I'm trying to locate my starting PIDRNG frame for catching a Litwick on the Celestial Tower 2F.

Seed: C166B3FA0733F74C
Initial Frame: Hasty (Flash Fire)
1 Chatot Chatter: Careful (Flame Body)
2 Chatot Chatters: Careful (Flame Body)
3 Chatot Chatters: Jolly (Flame Body)

After searching through the outputs that RNG Reporter gave me for the PIDRNG, I didn't find a starting frame anywhere? I am 100% sure I hit my seed (The IVs were correct).

Here's what I've been doing:
1. Hit the seed, start up the game.
2. Walk 28 steps in Celestial Tower, repel runs out. (I walked 72 steps and then saved before I hit my seed). Use another repel.
3. Walk another 100 steps in Celestial Tower. Repel runs out.
4. Switch Chatot and Foongus (because Chatot is a lot higher level than Foongus, so repel actually works). Listen to my own sexy voice on Chatot ___ amount of times as needed to advance PIDRNG.
5. Take one step forward. Use Sweet Scent.
6. Capture Litwick, check IVs + nature + ability.

I'm pretty sure that my DS Parameters are correct as I've RNG'ed some stationary legendaries, but can someone check them over or something?

Okay, just asking a question, how consistent is the frame advancement for tile stepping? Is it always 2 like the guide says? Because I am getting inconsistent results on my PID frame (I am getting the correct IVs though) and the research page says it is inconsistent
Basically this is what I am going for:
3D7770B7E8B34C5A
MTRNGIV frame: 6
PIDRNG frame: 704 (Which is shiny by my ID/SID combo)

So if I am in a cave, I walk 128 steps, then multiply that by two + 2x the number of turns I made, then turn as much as I need to in order to get to 704? My starting frame is 46 by the way.

On a side note for OmegaDonut: I am not a researcher and am afraid of posting in the RNG Research thread. So if you read this, please take my thought (And data) into consideration. I have been experimenting with starting tiles in comparison to starting frame. I feel there is a connection between the tile and the frame you start on. Where you saved last when you turn on the game determines placement in the PIDRNG. I have been able to consistently determine my starting frame after taking a break, trading, and going back simply by being in the same place as before. I know my explanation is confusing, but take the concept into consideration.

EDIT: @Mario With Lasers: That is only the back half of your MAC address. Unlike C Gear Abuse, you need the whole MAC address for parameter finding. Hope this helps!

Nononono. You can't check your parameters with it plugged in either.

The same thing happened to me when I was trying to find my parameters. Try a drastically different time - set your DS clock to a different day. Also, you can't press any buttons at all until the Game Freak screen (the one with the comet), which is significantly later than the Pokemon Company logo.

That is a common mistake. :) So, just go get your full MAC Address from Game Sync's option to configure your wifi connections, and type that in and it should work. Hope I helped!

There's probably a real explanation, but I don't know what it is, so maybe. It's what happened to me.

Also, you can't press any buttons until the Game Freak screen (with the comet) which is significantly later than the one you mentioned before.

You need to advance the PID frame. It looks like you're on frame 48 so just save once before you encounter it (make sure u hit your seed) and it should be jolly.

Try advancing the PID with a step before going to fight him. Because I am 99.9% sure it is that you are not noting what frame the PID is on. Just try to get lucky with the PID or even try to calibrate the PID to know what PID Frame Jolly is on.

Also, one more question about hitting my seed since I believe I get this RNG stuff now...

Since there is a 1 second delay should I be hitting it at EXACTLY :54 (X:X:55 is target) or a second after so as the screen is fading it hits 55

I'm aware of this, and I even saw that Jolly one a single frame away but I tried and I'm just not getting it. And why doesn't the Jolly Sync override it?
