Krul's Aussie VGC Team

As some of you may be aware, Australia has it's own mini-VGC tourny, with the prize in each state being a 3DS and Pokemon Black/White. After fiddling with a few teams (Whimsicott/Terrakion/Jellicent/Chandelure) and reading the VGC articles, this is the team I am settling with:

Tornadus (M) @ Flight Gem
Trait: Prankster
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Tailwind
- Acrobatics
- Taunt
- Substitute

Acts as an amazing Tailwinder for Mienshao and Hydreigon. Flight Gem'd Acrobatics is a brutal attack that takes out a fair few threats, or at the very least damages them. Usually I Taunt any threats, followed by Acrobatics or Substitute, Tailwinding if I feel I'm going to get KO'd.

Mienshao (M) @ Focus Sash
Trait: Inner Focus
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Fake Out
- Rock Slide
- Drain Punch
- Wide Guard

Wide Guard to stop pesky Rock Slides/Earthquakes/Water Spout etc, Fake Out the first turn on whatever threat won't need to be Taunted (Landorus hates me), with Drain Punch to recover health and put a mark on Dark/Steel/Rock types. Being able to out FO Scrafty is great too.

Hydreigon (F) @ Chople Berry
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Dragon Pulse
- Dark Pulse
- Fire Blast
- Surf

My main sweeper when Mienshao gets inevitably taken out by a small breeze. He is useful for taking out Psychics and Ghost types that would otherwise take Jellicent and Mienshao down with ease. I'm deciding whether to replace Surf with Protect to give him more survivability, as Jellicent can do quite well with either ability, but I feel like WA isn't pulling it's weight, however he can then switch in to enemy Jellicent and heal.

Jellicent (M) @ Water Gem
Trait: Water Absorb
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Water Spout
- Ice Beam
- Protect
- Shadow Ball

My backup plan. He can run against TR teams pretty well, and loves Tailwind too. Protect off the bat usually if I don't know what's coming, otherwise the opponent gets whacked with Water Spout. Shadow Ball for Ghosts/Psychics who try to TR but get Taunted, Ice Beam for Dragons and Amoongus.

Usually I send him out after Hydreigon unless theres an opposing Jellicent/Chandelure/whatever gets hit by WS for massive damage. If Hydreigon changes to Protect over Surf I may change the ability to Cursed Body, as it can fuck up an opponent if I get lucky.

Psychic and Ice Pokemon/attacks seem to be a big issue for me at the moment, the Genies also like to show me up if I set-up badly. Trick Room teams can also get the best of me, Reuniclus in particular, though Musharna is also rather aggravating. I guess that's to be expected when running Mienshao as a lead, with a Jellicent in the back :S

Any pointers on how to improve this team?

I'm a bit late, but I don't understand flight gem + acrobatics for Tornadus; doesn't acrobatics deal double damage if you're not holding anything (vs. holding Flight Gem which increases 50%)?

When using Flight Jewel, the item is destroyed before the calculation for if the item is held happens. So that means Flight Jewel boosts Acrobats power, and then since the item is gotten rid of, the power increases even more.

Flight Gem is consumed before Acrobatics is executed, meaning the attack happens when Tornadus is not holding anything, doubling the BP of Acrobatics.

EDIT: ninja'd

excellent team, but don't you think being tailwind dbl's speed you can drop some speed ev's and add to hp, making your pokemon last longer.

Since testing, I have made various changes:

1. Substitute over Protect on Tornadus. This helps to stop Spores and T/Waves from Thundurus, giving me an extra turn to deal damage.

2. Water Absorb on Jellicent. I did this to take Water Spouts from other Jellicent (Though 99% assume I have WA anyway), but also because of....

3. Haxorus replaced by Hydreigon. I felt it was better to have another special attacker as a backup, running a standard DP/DP/Surf/FB Modest set, which outspeeds my Haxorus Adamant Haxorus, as well as dealing damage to Psychics/Ghosts with Dark Pulse.

@Soul Survivor: I could consider that, however I don't always get the chance to TW, in which case max speed on Tornadus is essential always to outspeed/tie other Tornadus. I could make Mienshao bulkier, but he won't be taking more than 1 hit anyway (Focus sashed, but if it doesn't activate then he's pretty much always below 50%. Jellicent could be bulkier, Hydreigon needs max speed.

I could run enough to give Jellicent 100 speed, then give the extra into HP, though as it is he already survives Thundurus' Thunderbolt and Discharge, its main concerns on my team. He dies to Bisharp's Sucker Punch, I wonder if that can change if it's bulkier?
