@ Airfoil, Thorhammer, and 133k

Thank you all for you advice, I've never gotten so much feedback on anything before! I'm going to EV both (I mean, why not, Scrafty's my favorite Gen V) and test them both. I could always run HJK on the Shed Skin one and keep Drain Punch on the Moxie, too!

Here's my next quick question for soft resetting for a Timid/Jolly Virizion: Should I run SD physical or CM Special? Why? Just a quick run down on why which would be better; I can personally see both doing fine. Oh, and this is for Flat Battle (much faster and easier than training 6 to level 100 without AR). Thanks!

i would be really appreciated if someone answered this for me

i was ev training my heatran and it had 252 speed evs and 252 special attack evs, i didnt lvl it up at all it was still at lvl 70 (same lvl i caught it at) and i put it in the pc before i lvled it up, does that mean i lose all my evs? because i went to get an effort ribbon before i put it in the pc.

No, the computer doesn't effect EVs at all.

I breed a male, prankster (Calm nature) Cottonee with max IV in Hp, Def, Sp. att, Sp. def (No egg moves)
I need a suggestion for his movepool (I want to use it for the battle subway), Ev and his held item

My first idea was
252 hp 252 Sp.Def 6 sp att
Leftovers
- Cotton guard
- Giga drain
- Leech seed
- ???? (protect or sub, maybe?)

Is this set going to work?
Also, any suggestion for team mates?

That's at level 100, and the PC takes the effects of the EVs. Not clears them.
I don't think it matters whether the Pokemon is at LV100 or not. It's just that it matters most at LV100, since at that time, it's the only way to get the game to recalculate stats based on EVs.

To explain it a bit better for the person asking, when a Pokemon is put into the PC, the game doesn't save its final stats. It keeps the EVs, IVs, and everything else that goes into determining those stats, and when you access the PC again, it shows you whatever stats would result from those values. As a result, if the Pokemon's EVs have changed since leveling up, its stats will be updated based on those changes. Otherwise, those changes would be applied upon leveling up next.

Snarl

How VGC-viable is Snarl in your opinion? Particularly on a Scrafty, and really just for the SpA decrease. Seems like it could be useful and I'd like to test it out, but I'm thinking Scrafty would be better off with practically any other move.

a special attack on scrafty?
not that good idea...
not to mention that i think that snarl is not released yet...

Actually, I was able to breed Snarl onto a Scraggy using the Japanese event Zoroark as a parent, though using Smeargle is also an option. And while it definitely won't be doing hardly any damage, I wonder if the special attack drop to both opponents might make it a worthy gimmick.

im thinking about using snivy.. basic starter ability, should i make it a physical attacker, or special? i know both are limited.

if in-game then try a physical attacker snivy with coil/swords dance and 3 attacking moves...one must be definitely leaf blade, and the other two are up to you...

trust me its options are very limited...i would opt for return since its high power(even though it lacks super effective hits) and my last move would be one of the following:
-leaf storm for big special damage
-giga drain for immediate healing
-leech seed for healing and extra damage
-aerial ace/dragon tail to take advantage of the attack boosts...

you will often find yourself using just leaf blade, but whatever, if you go pure special things are even worse, with grass attacks and hidden power(and hyper beam...)...

yeah i guess special is bad, but i was hoping maybe an annoying special set would be good

leech seed
giga drain
coil
-move-

but hey.. leech seed + physical sounds good as well.

i 've been using a set of growth(until coil), leaf blade(previously leaf tornado), return and leech seed in my black nuzlocke run(check my sig if you want) and i can say it has proved pretty decent...

but yeah i am considering giga drain as an option over leech seed later...

Leftovers + Substitute + Leech Seed might work, maybe even throw protect on their for more stalling and to get 1/4 of your HP back almost immediately....But I haven't tried anything like that out yet, so I can't say for sure....but Taunt should be considered to keep other Pokemon from Taunting you. I don't know about Gen5, but the Battle Tower in HGSS had some really complicated and good strategies farther in, and I can imagine something running Taunt in the subway and I know you'll run into other annoying attacks like Trick Room where it's worth having Taunt.

Big Root is also an interesting option as an item as it boosts Leech Seed and Giga Drain power and saps more HP.

Will a child of two cheated parent-Pokemon (With usage of an AR, so that they have perfect IVs) be counted as cheat as well in Gen 5?
