5th Gen PRNG Help / Info - Latest: RNG Reporter 9.96.5, PPRNG 1.15.0

Seed: CF13927DDB5B18CE

ive been trying to breed an exeggecute with no ditto no everstone or power item and for some reason after I found what seemed to be my starting pid frame, did my advancements to my target, i kept on getting something different that isn't even on the list of combinations. It match natures and ivs with one of the combinations for parents but not dream world ability. If it says dream world false is there no chance that it can have the dream world ability? and what could cause this problem? would giving a power item help? Any help would be appreciated, this is so frustrating

I'm hearing some conflicting information about RNG breeding in this game. From the data I've gathered from this thread, I was under the impression that the egg used the IV spread that you found in time finder, but replaced 3 of the IVs with those from the parents, according to the PID. So the three IVs that don't say Ma/Fe in the PID list should be the same as the ones from time finder. But my friend, who has successfully bred several Pokemon, both shiny and not, is telling me that the non-inherited IVs are random and don't correlate with the time finder spread. I want to call him wrong about this, but he got everything else in the PID right (inherited IVs, nature, gender, ability, shininess), so I can't find any flaws in his method that would indicate a mistake. Can someone please clarify this?

Then he's hit the wrong IV frame but got the right PID frame. I have done it myself, it takes the IVs from the Time Finder. Just ask my 31/31/31/1/31/0 Ferrothorn. Those were the stats on Time Finder, and I managed to RNG so it got the proper inheritence (I couldn't afford the male's HP or the either's speed)

Gonna use my Nidoran-F as practice for my Espeon on the 5th, so just to be sure:

RNG a stationary encounter somewhere after frame 3 w/ C-gear, turn on c-gear when timer2 ends, enter Entralink, count steps, press A, pray to Arceus for a good Nature.

Am I right? And I know wireless stuff is weird about forced saving, but I should be able to just try again and again right?

Please let me know how much of what I've figured is wrong.

Is there a comprehensive guide available for RNGing eggs in Gen V? Every one so far has been cut short on that part, or has not listed it at all. Some of the info seems contradictory; the MTIVRNG and PIDRNG are supposed to be separate, but some of the lists have them as being tied in as the same thing. Is there anything comparable to the Blyde's Bloghell guide, except for RNGing eggs instead of stationary pokemon?

I didn't mean to sound obnoxious or ungrateful; I am grateful, very much so, that all this effort has been put into RNGing. I just really, really don't understand what I'm doing or where to start with egg hatching (in Gen V at least). Of course, I don't want anyone to absolutely put aside his work and tutor me until I do know what to do, but if you could point me in the right direction I would be very happy.

What I referred to as the Blyde's Bloghell guide is this:

From what I can tell, they're only slightly tied in areas w/ wild pokemon. Walking advances the PID frame, and walking 128 steps is the most common way to advance the MTIV RNG. However, for breeding purposes, do all your advances in the Daycare since there's no wild pokemon/better control of moving NPCs, so PID frames are easier to hit that way. The lack of wild pokemon totally erases the link b/t advancing the two RNGs.

When breeding with Dittos, does Ditto act as the mother if it's breeding with a male just like it happens with egg moves?

Yes, I'm pretty certain that it does.

-If Ditto is bred with a DW female, the DW female's ability will never be inherited.
-Before Gen V, Ditto was the one you needed to put the everstone on, even if the other parent was female.

Is that the info you're looking for? In both situations, Ditto acts as the "mother" regardless of the other's gender.

Yep, that's the info I needed, thanks. Though in HGSS (I think it may happen in DP too, but I don't have much interest in finding out), you can put the Everstone on either gender and the chance of passing down a nature will still be increased.

RNGing for a HP Ground Timid Shiny Pokemon. I set the date all the way back to March 7th and all the way to today. I don't seem to be getting a lot of results, and the ones I'm getting aren't Timid. Is this normal or am I missing something?

I have my SID so don't worry.

That's normal. I didn't find a decent shiny frame for my Virizion until 2014.

Thank you very much for your info, although mostly I was saying things seem contradictory as an illustration of how confused I am, not as an example of a specific problem I encountered. What I'm in need of most is a step-by-step walkthrough for RNGing perfect/shiny eggs. I've already had experience with Gen IV RNGing and I've already calibrated my system as is depicted in the link I proved to Blyde's Bloghell, but I'm unsure of what to do afterwards.

The third post has the beta comprehensive guide.

It is suggested that you abuse Wild Pokemon in areas without moving NPCs using Encounter Slots before abusing eggs, as the things you learn carry over into this form of abuse.

-Find your spread under the Time Finder. Use thr Gift Pokemon encounter type with a minimum frame of 8 and check the shiny only box. Using a frame of 8 is the best way to get started so you can save in front of the Daycare Man and be more consistent in trying to find your PID.

-Copy your full seeds into the RNG reporter main window and use the Breeding (BW) method. Note that your shiny PID frame will change when you plug it in here. So try lots of different seeds until you find one with a suitable frame, nature, inheritance values, etc...

-Once you found you're ready, get your parents in the daycare and bike around until the egg is ready. Save next to the daycare man when an egg is ready to be picked up.

-Hit your seed. As the game starts up, mash X to get into the menu and let the NPCs move as little as possible. When you exit out of the menu, mash A to pick up the egg as quickly as possible.

-Catch a pokemon as quickly as possible to ensure you hit your seed, like advised in OD's post. If you hit your seed, hatch the egg and note the nature, gender, inheritance, etc.

-Repeat the process of checking eggs several more times until you can recognize a pattern in what PIDs you are hitting. Advance the PID by listening to Chatot's cry on it's summary page when you enter the menu before grabbing the egg.

-Once you are able to determine your starting PID, advance to your shiny PID and collect the egg. It may take a few tries to hit it correctly. Good luck.

Im not clear on what to do after doing seed to time. I've got the time and delay, now what do I do? I'm using PPRNG, and trying to catch the pokemon.

if i've got an egg spread on IV frame 8, but the PID i need is, say 2 advances away, can I just start the game, pause as quickly as possible, listen to chatot 2 times, unpause and talk to the daycare man as fast as possible without any feasible NPC movement? Is this the way you go about breeding?

Questions about PIDRNG advancements, would really like an answer for them:

1. By approximately how much does a Wandering NPC advance the frames? Would it be by 2 for each turn/step similarly to the player's, or is it different for them...?

2. About how much does the sandstorm advance per second?

Reposting this. Would appreciate an answer, please. Thanks.

Ok I set the date from 4/26/2011 to 8/08/2011, and I'm not getting any results when in the previous search I had already gotten at least one. Is there a problem or have I been hit with a Worryseed?

Why are you mentioning a specific day (4\26, 8\08) when you can't search a specific day in the Time Finder?

1) Inconsistent.

2) Very inconsistent. There are hundreds of dust particles on the screen and each one affects the RNG.

You should not be trying to use the movements of NPCs\weather to control the RNG. At all.

What are you talking about? FYI I'm using the Mac one, since I'm on a Mac and all. So maybe that is it

Is it possible for the same seed to be synchronizable when catching a stationary Pokemon and non-synchronizable when catching a regular wild Pokemon with sweet scent? My RNG Reporter is telling me this but I always thought the only difference between stationary and wild Pokemon was that you had to advance the PID 2(?) more frames.
