5th Gen PRNG Help / Info - Latest: RNG Reporter 9.96.5, PPRNG 1.15.0

I was wondering... Are the calibration values generally the same for Black and White if I'm using the same DS? For example, I always get a Timer0 of either C7B or C7C on my Black version. Will those values be the same on my White version? I'm wondering because I'm trying to RNG my TID/SID combo in a fresh White version.

Hi. I've noticed a couple problems in the version 9.78. I'll try to be as specific as possible. First off here are my parameters:

MAC address 0025a017b22e
-1 second
VCount 60
VFrame 6
Timer0 C7C
GXStat 6

ID 43294
SID 03872

Here's a screenshot of Time Finder with 9.77 on top and 9.78 on bottom, showing my parameters.

And here's the same thing with my search.

In version 9.78 it found the same seed for the same time twice, but with a different nature.

If I put the first returned seed into the main window and generate results starting at frame one, everything is fine. Here's a screenshot with 9.77 on the left and 9.78 on the right.

But if I have it calculate the starting PID frame and generate results starting with it, everything is completely different.

I'm not sure if I've actually used 9.77 yet. I think the last one I used is 9.75, but the problem seems to be with 9.78 since the results change in it depending on how you search. I can try to provide more info if you need it.

Dream World question: Since 21 is the starting frame for Dream World Pokemon (after I talk to them), is it safe to use a spread that has a frame of 21 and go to the Pokemon, or would that mess anything up? Like instead of walking 128 steps with Z Pokemon, just going straight to the Pokemon with seed that already has a frame of 21.

A question; how exactly do Wandering NPCs affect the PID advancement? I've successfully RNGed and advanced the PID properly in areas w/o these NPCs before. I'm now attempting to RNG a Zebstrika, which is only in an area with NPCs. Each time I successfully hit my seed, I get my IVs but the PID frame is always different. I'm starting on IV frame one, if that matters at all.

Ok for Dream World I found a seed with the frame 84. So for calibration, since the initial frame is 21, would I be able to just warp to the extralink, say no to the Pokemon 3 times, then yes the fourth time, or would all those steps to the Pokemon throw me off? If there's anything else that I'm not getting, please let me know.

Thanks for the update, Omega.

Just to make sure, the current version of RNG Reporter can still be used for 4th Gen, right? It's been a while since I updated RNG Reporter on my HP, so I just want to make sure, as I was still RNGing for HGSS last time I used it on there and I plan to do some more of that.

Sorry for the dumbass question. ^^;

You're right, I am. So how can I hit C7D? It has the spread I want. There's like three other same exact times :/

....................................................................................

iirc if you say no it doesnt advance...

Is it that hard to find a frame 21/?????

New page post.

While you apparently can't control it, I know that when RNGing my Victini, it helped when I switched from the seed I was trying to hit to another seed with a different Timer0. If it still gives you trouble, you might want to consider switching, as well...

Yeah, I keep hitting the Victini at C7C. I'll try that.

Yeah, 4th gen stuff still works fine.

Ok now I'm confused about something else in the Dream World: From what I read from OmegaDonut, am I right to understand that the Pokemon starts on frame 21, but talking to the Pokemon starts on frame 26? If that's true then, why do we have 21 as the initial frame. Sorry it doesn't make sense in my head. So if I talk to a Pokemon twice, would I be on frame 42??? Any help?

Starting frame for Dream World Pokemon is 21. Every time you talk to a Pokemon and say no, it advances the frame 26. So talking to a Pokemon twice would mean it would be on frame 47.

Will NPCs advance the PID frame the same way on each time I hit my seed?
eg I hit my seed, get the egg, save then load up my AR. Quick hatch and check ivs/nature etc then bike around until another egg is made. Save in front of the man again. Hit my seed again and take exactly how long it took me to get the 1st egg to get my 2nd egg. Will I have hit the same PID frame or would the NPCs have moved in a different way thus changing my PID frame.
