5th Gen PRNG Help / Info - Latest: RNG Reporter 9.96.5, PPRNG 1.15.0

You'll know you hit your seed if the Pokemon has the correct IVs.
Shininess, on the other hand, relies on you hitting your PID Frame, as well as the right seed. If you're getting the right IVs but not a shiny, your advances are off.

If it has the wrong IVs, your timer0 is likely screwing you up. I'd just keep trying since you're bound to get it eventually. If you're consistently off, though, you may want to find your parameters again.

If I'm using the same seed, I should still have the same starting PID frame, correct? I calibrated my shiny flawless wild frame for Axew, and now I'm going for Terrakion so can I assume the starting frame is still 46, or do I need to check because I resaved?

Okay, I have posted this several pages back so I will repost it. Is the "Calculate Initial PIDRNG Frame: option for 5th Gen Method 5 PIDRNG accurate? Like, will it give me my exact starting PIDRNG Frame for that one spread? Or does it fail sometimes? I would love if someone responded. :D Thanks!!

Well id say its kinda accurate but normally i find my PID frame is one above it. maybe its just my luck on that though.

Edit: thought id update my progress on that seed i was trying to hit. i went to Relic castle and decided to test the seed out on a Sandile and i got it first try. i believe i have to put the seed finder on cave instead of wild possibly.

It should be accurate. The only time that any problems exist (I believe) are when you're in White Forest. That place is weird for everything.. this is no different.

Actually, the "calculate initial PID frame" option isn't accurate when there are NPCs around (even non-wandering ones)

No, it's accurate for everything except white forest, NPCs only advance it after the initial frame that Reporter predicts for you, it's up to you to see how much they advance from that.

Hi, I'm getting a weird problem with RNG reporter, I'm trying to learn to Extralink RNG in advance for Espeon release. I use the seed generator fine, but if I click cancel, and try searching again, the program just crashes when I try to generate again. It seems to fix it self after unknown amount of time (It happened first last night, and I could use it again this morning, but silly me managed to click Wild instead of Stationary, making me have to cancel again...). What's strange though, is that I can still use the other seed generators (Standard seed generating still works fine). Anyways here's an image of my set-up as it crashes: (And yes I realise the min frame is supposed to be 21, I just forgot to set it to 21 when taking the SS)

Hi,

I'm having a bit of trouble with the PIDRNG. What's exactly the formula for frame advancements in this one? Target Frame - Initial PID frame = Number of advancements or is there anything else I should be aware of?

I'm asking this because I have a seed with a calculated initial PID frame of 41, a shiny PID of 99 (with a sync) and I've done 58 and 59 advancements and I haven't faced a Shiny Cobalion yet (I've hit my IVRNG seed in both times). I'm doing frame advancements via the Chatot chatter.

Desired PID - (RNG reporters Calculated - 1) - 2 (Sweet Scent) = Advancements needed.

So for your desired PID you would need to do. 99 - (41 - 1) - 2 = 57

So 57 Chatters.

The Initial PIDRNG frame that RNG Reporter spits out should be considered "Frame 0" for the purposes of working things out - if you were to sweet scent immediately with no NPCs the frame you would actually get is the next frame from your initial.

I believe OD said this was going to be adjusted in the next release.

How come that some people already have a perfect IVd *shiny* Thundurus? I thought it is impossible to control the PID, due to the strong rain?

Edit: And another question: Why do the shiny Pokemon in the Time Finder, do not match up with the PID data in the Main Menu?

Issue from the recent Reporter 9.77: Greater than and Less than are still reversed whenever I choose Roamers for the encounter type, but it appears fine if I choose Wild, Stationary, or other encounter types.

RNG Reporter 9.78 Beta is up.

- Added: Support for Korean versions of Black\White
- Added: Pandora's Box (5th Gen) now has option to calculate\display initial frame
- Added: Display Parents feature allows user to input parent IVs for display in main window
- Improved: Pandora's Box (5th Gen) now loads game version automatically
- Improved: Nearby Shiny search no longer stops at the first shiny it finds
- Fixed: Dream World ability calculation no longer shows false negatives
- Fixed: Calculate Initial PIDRNG Frame adds 1 to match actual frame
- Fixed: a crash whenever the Starting Frame was set above 192 for Breeding (BW\International)
- Fixed: Larvesta Egg search in Time Finder

It's possible if you have a precise timer and you figure out the exact time you need to finish the encounter by trial and error. Lots of trial and error.

You need to provide specific examples.

Thanks, but why sweet scent when I'm facing Cobalion? wouldn't that bring up another poke?

I'm curious, does a repel, or any of its variants, stop the PIDRNG advancement via turning and walking in an area with wild pokemon or not?

RNG 78 keeps crashing while I'm looking for a good Durant spread.

31/31/>=30/none/>=30/31 are the IV's im searching for and the shiny box is checked. I tried lowering the CPU usage, but it still crashed. Not sure if it's my computer, as 75 works just fine.

I'm trying to learn PID abuse (I can already do IVs.) To test things out, I searched for a shiny at frame 1 and pressed A at the correct time, no buttons, no C-Gear. Having saved in front of Cobalion, I pressed A right away, and...he wasn't shiny.
Anything I'm missing?

IV frames can start at 1, but PID frames will usually start around 40-60. You will have to pick a shiny PID frame higher than that, and you'd have to find your starting PID first.

You want to add a chatot to your party tombstoner. Save game in front of pokemon, switch off. Hit seed, chatter once. Capture, check the IV's compared to the list of PID iv's natures and then work out where you start. Reset the game, hit seed again and do appropriate number of chatters to get to your shiny seed...

Than ignore the sweet scent bit.

Walking and/or turning advances the PIDRNG even when there is a repel in effect.
