There is one within the general 5th Gen RNG questions thread, but I used this one to start with:

I found it very comfortable and easy to follow.

I took a look at the webby, it does say you can't RNG abuse with a DSi/3DS. So I am guessing the only way to RNG abuse for 5th GEN is with a DS/DSlite?

I need a concrete yes or no answer from someone who know. Not a "seems like it" or " I guess so" kind of answer. Because depending on this, I will be buying a DSlite or a 3DS.

Yeah, Terrakion protects as Whimsicott tailwinds. If it's an obviously unprepared team, I don't tailwind since they'll both outspeed all the enemies anyway. If I have to Tailwind because I'm going against an opponent with well-EV'd pokemon, they'll probably just KO whimsicott that turn and I won't have Beat Up support next turn.

I exaggerated a little about the badness of my performance with that combo, but it was disappointing since I thought it would absolutely dominate.

Another problem with the strategy is the opportunity cost. Whimsicott with Beat Up cannot, as far as I have ever seen, have Encore as well, which is very valuable in doubles because of the ubiquity of Protect and Fake Out.

That sucks, I traded someone on GTS Negotiations for their Encore/Beat Up Whimsicott.. at least now I know that I can't trade it or battle with it; though it allowed me to use it on Random Matchup (even though I'm aware that Random Matchup allows illegal combinations for whatever reason).

@ Starrmie
You can only C-Gear RNG on DSi/3DS, but yes, you can RNG (it's just a different method than what you'd use for DSLite/DS)

You cannot do standard seeds (Seeds without the C-Gear active) on DSi or 3DS. You can do C-Gear seeds (Seeds generated by turning on the C-Gear) with the DSi (But perhaps not the 3DS, I don't know), but as I understand it these are really only used for things like Entree Forest pokemon. Since it's easier to breed a DW ability pokemon with standard seeds than try to capture it perfect in the forest, C-gear seeds would really only be used for male only DW pokemon like the starters and the eeveelutions.

If you really want to do a lot of RNGing, and a lot of RNG breeding, enough to make a good trade thread, I would go ahead and buy the DS Lite.

My triples team is basically Beat up/tailwind whimsicott, terrakion, and weavile, for a second beat up user, with Follow me togekiss, CB gyara, and Eruption Heatran waiting in the wings. Works fairly well too, for the most part

Are there any daily trainers to battle besides small/big court, royal unova, cynthia and charen that dont have poke level 20 or something?

In GenV, does the ability Flower Gift still increase ally's attack and special defense and NOT special attack?

Also in triple battle, does tailwind increase the speed of your pokemon immediately on the same turn? Eg. Opponent is faster than me before tailwind but not after, then my whimsicott uses tailwind, will my other pokemon go first now?

Speed is always calculated for Pokemon before the turn begins, that's how the game knows which Pokemon moves first. The next time that speed will be recalculated is the start of next turn, which is when Tailwind kicks in for the first time. So no, your Pokemon will still be slower this turn.

This applies to Pokemon that gets paralyzed I assume?

When holding an elemental gem, and using a multi-turn "thrash" move, is only the first hit boosted, or all hits? For example, if a Dragon-Gem holding Garchomp used Outrage, would all 2-3 turns or only the first turn be boosted? The reason I ask is because it's *technically* all one attack...

Shroomisaur:

The Normal Gem and the like would only affect the first turn of attacks such as Thrash, since the attack is used on different turns, not the same turn as is the case with multi-hit attacks such as Tail Slap and Bonemerang.

ooh, I like that question, although I was kinda hoping it WOULDN'T go in the 'dargon gem outrage' direction. Petal Dance needs love too!

But, I wanted to expand on that; what about single-turn multi-hit attacks? Would a skill-link cloyster or technician breloom be able to pull off boosted Icicle-Spear or Bullet Seeds using their respective gem? I doubt it'd be the best stratagy, but I am curious of the answer, as the previous one seems to imply it would boost each strike.
