5th Gen PRNG Help / Info - Latest: RNG Reporter 9.96.5, PPRNG 1.15.0

I'm trying to catch my Cobalion. My target is a Timid one with 31/-/31/31/31/31.

- I'm using RNG Reporter 9.81
- Catching stationary legendary Cobalion for IVs. Using a Timid Synchronizer for the nature.
- DS MAC address is 0022AA0B7CA5
- Target seed is E6DF9E6A51A90101
- Target frame is 6
- Keypresses: Left
- Results: Caught a Timid, with IVs of 16-17/30/4-6/30/28-29/15-17

The only thing I can think of that I'm doing differently from my first successful stationary legendary RNG is moving the Synchronizer (Munna) into the lead AFTER walking my 128 steps with the 5 Pokemon in my party. Munna is too low of a level so Repel doesn't work unless I switch it to lead after the 128 steps.

Could anyone lend me a hand? Much appreciated.

Switching a Pokémon to the front does not mess up with your IV RNG frame. It probably is your Timer0 which fluctuated or you hit your seed wrong.

What can I do to fix the Timer0? I tried multiple times to hit this seed and I'm almost certain I did everything correct. It's probably my Timer0. Do I have to re-calibrate?

Timer0 can't be controlled, according to the first page.
But I think you should choose which Timer0 you often hit...

In my case, IIRC, I think my hit rate for c7c (Black) & c7f (White) is 60%.
And 40% for c7b (Black) & c7e (White).

Maybe the rate may vary like 70%-30%, 80%-20%, etc...
I'm not sure yet if the variation rate will depend on the seed.

So re-calibrating would let me see which timer I hit most often wouldn't it? I hit my seed for the Zekrom I wanted using this Timer0 which is C7E, but is it possible to use a different Timer0 for a different Pokemon?

1. Yeah we should re-calibrate, like what I did is to tally it on a piece of paper or something. Sometimes the variation rate will be 50%-50%, or maybe it depends on the seed, I think...

2. It's possible to use a different Timer0 for a different poke, but in my case I still stick to one more often than the other. It depends what Timer0 you're comfortable with.

Thank you! Will re-calibrate and post if I have any other problems.

So, do I just need to hold down the buttons till the Game Freak logo, then automatically interact with Terrakion since it has only 1 Frame?

Yes that's what you'll do.
And you have to press A when the DS analog clock hits 23:16:37, 1 second before the target time.

Yes. A synchronizer doesn't guarantee that nature, though.

But the recent Reporter does tell you your starting frame, and you should advance the PID to the nearest PID with the desired nature, if the starting frame isn't the PID with the target nature.

Don't know my PID at all, so I'm not gonna bother right now.

Oh I see.
I bet you did copied your desired spread and details like time, date, keypresses, etc... on a notebook right?
But forgot the PIDs? :p

Anyway you can still use save to advance the PID (slowly) by 1.

Still, Timer0 will troll up on everybody's life. Just keep trying.
A hint if you've hit your seed on a Terrakion: It's HP is 141 even before you'll see the other stats. If its not then try again.

Actually.. I never read up on how to figure out your PID's, or see them.

Havin' some problems RNGing a wild Shiny. I know I'm doin' the steps right, but I'm not 100% sure if I'm calculating the chatot calls properly. Is this how I'm suppose to calculate it? http://oi54.tinypic.com/1603dp4.jpg

Seein' how my frame is 1, I know that I'm not suppose to walk, I can have any amount of Pokemon in my party. I start up game, hold key presses (Right-Up) and let go at the Nintendo screen, load save file, do chatot calls, and then sweet scent.

Hope someone can tell if if my chatot calls calculations are correct :)

EDIT: Did a quick parameter search and I hit the right seed just to let you know. It's just the chatot calls now.... Gettin' so close >W<

i think the nature being bold has something to do with it as well.. along with NPCs and actual starting frame.

If you're in an area with wandering NPCs that starting frame is going to be incorrect.
Oh, that's the problem then. On route 18 (friend told me that I would be fine if they aren't on the screen >W<). Went to Twist Mountain to go for a Shiny Bolodre.

I did the steps, I hit my seed again, the Boldore's IVs matched up, nature (Brave), and ability too! :O Why wasn't it Shiny??? I don't get it O.o

What does the bold have to do with anythin'? If it's bold in the time finder, I know that I can synch. if I want to...

in the rng reporter, did you get the !!! in the seed line? if not.. no shiny.

i really have no idea. it was my way of asking what the difference is on bold natures and non-bold. lol

there shouldnt be any reason why it wasnt shiny then.. if every single thing is correct. mind if you post a screenshot of your reporter results? maybe we could help further.

nvm, i see your image.

it should shine.. hmmm

When will release a version of rng that supports the DSi with the method without C-Gear?

An additional question I would like to ask is why can't the DSi use non c-gear abuse in the first place? Does it has something to do with the hardware itself or just hasn't been discovered yet.
Read the third post of the thread.
  • Do not ask if/when DSi/3DS standard seeds have been cracked.
    • If there is new information, this thread will be updated to contain it.
Stop asking about it. If you're really interested in the technical answer I'm sure Bond, Kaphotics or OmegaDonut would be able to provide you with that answer but otherwise you're just annoying them by constantly asking about it.
Bond explained it as an issue with how the seeds are encrypted on the DSi. They don't have the tools to figure it out right now as it is too costly(3-5 k) so, unless you're willing to shell out some cash, you're going to be waiting a while.

Again! I hit my seed. It isn't shiny :O Just did a parameter search and the seed I hit is the right seed. What am I doing wrong? I'm not even walking, no NPCs in the area. I'm confused U.U
