How much does sweet scent advance the frame by in HGSS if you're not on a bike? I know it advances by one on a bike, but you can't ride a bike in Sprout Tower, and I want to RNG a Gastly there. Will it still be possible?
Edit: Nvm, I got the Gastly :D Since sweet scent is only inconsistent when a pokemon is behind you, I just climbed the ladder to the 2nd floor. The pokemon doesn't appear behind you until you take a step, so I just saved there, hit my seed, did my advancements and sweet scent only advanced by 1, so I'm happy. :] That was much easier than a shiny G5 BP, Imo since there was no starting PID involved ^_^

Well, Sweet Scent is consistent. Honestly. Even with a Pokemon following you. It's either by 1 or 2. So if your game makes it 2, it will always be two. Same for 1.

Now I'm trying to RNG Raikou... so it's starting frame is 1, and all I have to do is hit my seed and do advancements. But I have a question about the advancements. Since you have to take a step to release the roamers, and there are wild pokemon in the area, will that step advance the frame? If so, by how much?

That step is not going to advance anything :P
I found doing it by that method is INSANELY inconsistent. Best way to do it is by the E4. imo.

What do you mean by "by the E4"? I thought IVs/PID are only generated once. Does that mean that I'll have to KO Latios and it will re spawn? If that's the case, when will the IVs/PID be generated? After I beat the champion, similar to Thundurus/Tornadus in BW?
Elite 4. They are, just when you kill the roamers and release them through the champion method, it resets them.
I think it resets them when you start walking up the walk way to the champion (where it auto moves you). I've never done that method, but there are plenty of places around that give you details on how to.
Ok, I think I get it. So it resets before you battle the champion. Since Latios starts roaming after you beat the E4 for the first time, you'd have to KO it and rechallenge the E4, right?

^ yea you KO it, save a step b4 the auto walk to lance. Reset to hit your delay and then confirm your seed with the other roamers is easiest but you can use Radio Seed and the Radio to do it too.
Radio Seed also can track your frame with Pokemon Search Party/Serial Radio Drama. Since the Phone doesn't work in the Champions room.

Hmmm... I have no idea how to use the radio to confirm my seed. All I know is how to advance the frame with it. Is there info on confirming your seed with the radio in the first few posts of this thread? I don't recall seeing any.

Edit: Downloaded it :D I checked it out, and it looks super easy to use. But I just have a question about the radio stations to make sure I'm doing it right. For the seed I plan to use, the hour would be 21 (Which is 9 PM). So when I tap the bottom right button on the radio, I should get the Pokemon Search party station, correct?

I can't check right now cuz my iPhone refuses to scroll to see the times lol. So I'm going to guess that you're correct.
I'm guessing your thinking gen5 not 4, your pid is tied into your iv frame which means your nature, shininess, gender and ability are all tied to a specific iv set. Since rileys egg is method 1 and it's monster frame is 1 a good spread should be easy to find. Also there are no npcs to advance your frame
Lol, it's ok. I changed the time to 21 on my DS and checked in-game, it is Pokemon Search Party.
But I have one more question regarding the Champion method. Since I'm forced to auto save after I beat the champion, if I somehow made a mistake in RNGing Latios, will it be reset again if I KO it and challenge the E4 again? Or should I just lose to Lance on purpose to stop the auto save?
After beating Lance(once you confirm your delay and make your advancements) then beat him, it autosaves. Go catch Latios in your Masterball, confirm its IV's/Nature and shininess if you went for it. If it doesn't match reset re-ko and do the process over again.
If it does match, reset and choose whatever ball you want to catch it in.

King N: Like WP said, they are Method 1. You basically just have to hit your seed and do your advancements.
But I also have a question about Kanto/Hoenn starters in HGSS. When are the IVs/PID set? When you choose the starter, or when? And would you just save before you talk to Oak/Steven and then hit your seed and do frame advancements?

Does anyone know what I should put for emulator speed default in bitxor calculator if VBA is running at about 360%? Also if possible, how to make it more than 360%. (I'm pretty sure it can run higher than that since I at least have 8GB RAM and 2 cores... or not.)
EDIT: Never mind. Although I still need to know what number to put for emulator speed default now that it's running 600% or more.
