Wow, it's just me or there's tons of Magnezones flying around?
I was watching random battles last night and I swear that 10 out of 10 battles have a Magnezone involved ._.!
Most common set is Sub-Charge beam but I also saw a Specs Zone with Volt Switch :I

Just wanted to say that SpecsZone is amazing. You 2HKO SpDef Jirachi (yeah Sub-Charge sets up but a lot of people run Fire Punch), OHKO Scizor, but the best thing imo is that you limit Ferro to just one hazard, which is pretty hilarious. Also, Specs Thunderbolt is amazing in its own right; You do more damage than a Latios' Specs Dragon Pulse, for instance.

Oh yeah, forgot to menton that SpecsZone (any Mag in general tbh) is a great partner to CM Latias; you take out Scizor, Ferrothorn, and Sp.Def Jirachi, some of Latias' greatest counters.

Not to mention that SubCharge Magnezone is slow and easily forced out, meaning that you will rarely manage to set up a clean sweep (in fact, I usually catch it with Leech Seed on the switch, set up hazards, and Power Whip to keep its health / subs low since I play [broken] Drizzle most of the time).

Still, SpecsZone is definitely worth using and should be looked into since it has a good bit of bulk on top of that healthy SpA.

SubChargeZone isn't meant to sweep you use it to kill a steel while setting up a sub and getting several boosts to OHKO the next Pokemon that tries to break your sub (it also works wonders against Smash Pass).

Specs Zone is imo not worth it over Scarf Zone you still can't OHKO Bronzong,SDef Jirachi,SDef Ferro in Rain and Metagross (in fact you don't even 2HKO SDef Jirachi even outside of rain and even Ferrothorn has a chance to survive a HP fire outside of rain) also being slow and locked in a low BP Move isn't exactly what you want in such a offensive metagame.

Now that the statistics are out i've noticed that there are a lot of Latias running the server, everyone starts to love her ? that's mine </3

joking a part i love the roar variants. i've faced a guy that sent to me a reuniclus and starts to setup CM with me 'till i roared him out and sweep his entire team lol

I think in order to alleviate the fact that the server was down for so long, the rating requirement should be lowered this round or the deadline for the round extended.

No it doesn't, soundproof blocks it. Or am I missing something here?

I believe the discussion was over the idea of baton passing to a soundproof pokemon after perish song had already been used as a means to negate the countdown, a conversation which arose due to what appears to be a PO glitch unless the mechanics for perish song changed this gen (According to Bulbapedia, perish song doesn't stop when you switch in someone with soundproof, and, according to the D/P Smogon Abilitydex, if perish song is used on someone who then baton passes, perish song takes effect on the baton pass recipient).

It is for this reason that I've been running Shed Shell on Skarmory. It's saved my ass more times than I can count.

If I remember correctly the soundproof user must switch in on the turn Perish Song is executed in order to block it. Once Perish Song is activated on a different BPer, then Mr. Mime cannot prevent the countdown.

Unless the mechanics have changed.

People need to run Wobbuffet more. Teach you to Perish Song my Baton Pass team!

Oh, and is it just me, or does no-one prepare for suicide Deoxys-S leads with SR, Spikes and Focus Sash any more? I've been getting way too many layers up these days.

Wobbuffet is also really good on weather teams, since with some fancy bait and switching you can make it so your opponent's weather changer gets trapped in on Wobbuffet. After that, it's bye bye weather changer, hello desired weather. xD If I didn't have my Wobb, it would be a lot harder for me to use my Sun team, but because I do, keeping Sun is way easier. He does require a lot of prediction against good players if you want to make it so the situation is Wobb vs. weather changer though since most people don't just leave their weather changer in if they see Wobb.

And about Deoxys-S, I don't know about you, but I still see tons of Forretress, Tyranitar, Scizor, Dragonite, and Espeon, not to mention spinner Excadrill. Not to say the suicide lead is bad (I use it all the time), but I'd say people are definitely prepared for it even still.

PS. Whoever's packing accuracy-lowering moves (Flash) on their BP teams is an asshole...

Deoxys-S is an uncomfortable lead to face. People don't want to risk using their Tyranitar or Scizor because of the attacking sets that run Superpower with Fire Punch / HP Fire. Unless you have something like Crunch ChopleTar, it's probably getting up SR along with at least one layer of Spikes.

I've also used Thundurus a lot lately and really think that it's broken. I suppose you could feel otherwise if you face a lot of bad opponents, but there are few reliable ways to deal with it (Unaware Quagsire remains one of the only solid choices). It's mostly up to sacrificing something or switching a check into a resistance / immunity, which is potentially risky. Lum also seems to be the optimal item for the NP set, since you can 2HKO Jirachi at +2 without worrying about Body Slam paralysis. Also helps out against status overall.

Anyone here use RestTalk Tyranitar? I've not tried it personally, but I faced someone using a set with Pursuit and Stone Edge as the attacking moves. It was incredibly hard to keep the sun up, since it just kept switching in and resting...

I have used some rest+talk tar and personally i thought it was a deadweight on my teams due to the opponents fighting types. It was really annoying to see them just come in and setup. I've also used it with pursuit and fire blast just to get rid of latios and some steels but it was still a meh for me

I’ve used RestTalk Tyranitar before and can honestly say it works. Losing to Pokemon you should be able to beat is not very fun at all i.e. WoW Jellicent. I’ve used a specially defensive set along the lines of:

Tyranitar (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Sand Stream
EVs: 252 HP / 40 Atk / 216 SDef
Sassy Nature (+SDef, -Spd)
- Crunch
- Rest
- Sleep Talk
- Filler (depends on team needs)

I like to think of Tyranitar as the king. In chess, the most important piece is the king and it’s your job to keep it safe at all costs. The same is also true of Pokemon; keeping Tyranitar alive means winning the weather war and usually, the game as well. Rest means you won’t be rendered useless after a burn and almost guarantees you will live to see the ending.

If you pair it with Wobbuffet, you get the ultimate trapping core. There is a 100% chance of a sandstorm raging. Against Sun, you can just keep switching in on Ninetales, most of them rely on burns to beat Tyranitar but even the ones that carry HP Fighting won’t be able to touch it. Against Rain, Politoeds that rely on burns from Scald won’t be able to get past Tyranitar either. Admittedly, the choice sets can 2HKO Tyranitar. Still, I like switching to Tyranitar after they bring in Politoed. I can usually tell what set they’re running from the damage output and if they are choiced and manage to KO, then Wobbuffet can just come in and Mirror Coat, putting an end to Rain once and for all.

Yeah, I remembered that the guy who used it against me Wobbuffeted my Conkeldurr. Not fun at all. ^ and you're right, winning the weather war tends to win you the game, so and everlasting tyranitar is extraordinarily useful. He's the only perma-weather setup Pokemon who can RestTalk (apart from Abomasnow)

Chesto rest is occasionally seen, especially on tales, and it frees up room for coverage / support. I've never used RT tar or toed but unless you tend to rest more than 3 times I'd roll with chesto.

I'd rather use my Tyranitar as a wallbreaker for my Sand sweepers. CBtar and MixTar are kings.

I think that Wobb can be a good teammate for sun & sand, but for the rain a prefer to use Sashed Dugtrio with Earthquake (stone edge for the BalloonTales) & Reversal, it's incredibly useful and can OHKO or 2HKO Tales, Tar and Aboma easly if played well.

Chandelure has been a pretty good sweeper for me so far. Have to watch out for ttar, but I've nailed heatran and ttar on the switch before with hp fighting and then I can ko them the following turn. Otherwise, he hits SO hard.
