This is good. I have no idea why people are reacting negatively. Everyone's biggest complaint for years has been that there aren't enough events, I don't know how often I've read "I would have to drive x miles, I can't go, this sucks."
This is how we get more events.
A large part of the cost is the giant tour of staff and signage and machines that had to move around the country for a month and a half. If it is run entirely on volunteer staff and we play with just ir and no big boxes, the events will be much cheaper so more events, scattered more evenly around the country.
Playing all at the same time means late regionals won't be full of copy teams, and people can't tour the country until they win, or go for multiple wins. So more people get the opportunity to t16, t4 etc.
Basically, I'm astonished that there is so much negative response to this, this is good <_<
(Also there isn't much information here so we shouldn't take it too seriously yet, but what is there falls in line with what I'd heard from people at Nats/Worlds)
