And Pursuit is set-up fodder, while Deoxys-S did its job of setting up SR and Spikes by Turn 2.
I don't think you understand though. Deoxys-S isn't something you Pursuit. It's supposed to die. It's not going to switch out.
I was talking about Deoxys-S sweeper. Not always Deoxys-S is a (predictable) suicide lead.
What? Deoxys-S sweeper outspeeds and OHKOs the two common pursuiters Ttar and Scizor with Superpower and Fire Punch...
uh, Meru, Deoxys has 4MS. It can't do everything at once. Suicide lead? You've got SR/Spikes there. Unless you mean Superpower/Fire Punch for the other moves, in which case anything can pop in and Taunt your head off. If you use Taunt, it just means that you cannot beat BOTH Scizor and Tyranitar...
You don't really need to beat both. You can still get two layers on Scizor since its only option when it's healthy is to U-turn. I wouldn't risk that against Deo-s, personally, since I'm well aware that Fire Punch is becoming a bit more common. Maybe not standard-level common, as Meru says, but the risk is there. Think twice about your U-turn.
I'll admit that saying Starmie can't Rapid Spin Deoxys-S is pretty unrealistic since Thunderbolt is unspeakably rare.
However, the more common choices of Forry, Scizor, and Chople-less Tyranitar are all taking huge risks if they try to kill/spin away Deoxys-S hazards.
And for the record, I'm not neccessarily arguing Deoxys-S as broken. Prankster Taunts work, statting up vs. Taunt-less versions can result in a 6-0, and Magic Coat is pretty reliable (although kind of a waste of a move otherwise). Spinning is still possible too, but the amount of pressure you undergo until you get a chance to spin can sometimes be too big of a burden to bear.

yea, sorry for forfeiting that final match with lolcat... I just felt like a bitch not letting someone get reqs when my alt wasn't gonna req anyways. But then again, I shouldn't have felt like a bitch, because I would've won that game fair and square. My apologies go to Stunt particularly who was cheering me on. I totally regret my instantaneous decision to let him get reqs without earning it. But seemed like he didn't get them anyways (at least not with his main account).
Somehow I don't think Volcarona will get banned though we will see.
Can someone even tell me WHAT we are voting on. Thundurus and what else?
Bahaha, Jesus Cristal, I wonder if he would've made reqs had I beat him in the end. We had to draw early because I had to go, but he was around 200 points higher than me at the time so he would've dropped a load had he lost (no telling who would've won though, we were in one heck of a stall war).
I knew I wasn't going to make reqs this time what with this being my first few weeks laddering in gen V. Though after my success tonight I wonder if I had actually tried instead of dropping around 300 points on a gimmick team if I might have actually made it XD.

Please stop nominating Excadrill every single round. It's not true that it makes Hyper Offense unplayable. It's OHKO'd by most Pokémon you would use in a HO team, so it can't use Swords Dance safely. If it kills something you have a free setup turn for an Air Balloon Terrakion / Landorus / SD Breloom / whatever, and Excadrill is not the only thing that makes you sac Pokémon in a Hyper Offense team.
