Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

Is there a formula where it will determine whether the PID will yield the rare Pokeradar pokemon or the regular pokemon. Right now, I've been trying to RNG Bagon on Route 210, and it's a pain because of the wandering NPC.

That said, I've successfully hit the Frame, but I ended up getting the Machoke instead of the Bagon.

To be specific, here's the stuff I'm working with:
Seed: D3080FE8
Frame: 90 or 92 (should be 90)
Synchronizer: Yes
Pokemon: Naive Bagon

Does anyone know the specific formula? Thanks in advanced.

EDIT: I've come to the conclusion that the pokemon in the encounter slot for the Pokeradar in the guide is simply wrong. Right now the guide is that Encounter slots 6,7,10,11 are Bagon. However, after using encounter slot 7 many times and getting Machokes by the same amount, I switched to another seed and was able to successfully get a Bagon on encounter slot 10. I don't know if this will be researched more or corrected, but just a heads up I guess.

Yeah charts are wrong,for bagon at least.The slots are 4,5,10,11(At least that's what they were for me) :)
 
I have an Emerald RNG abuse question!

Ok, so my ultimate goal is to breed a Staryu. I successfully caught my Timid x/x/x/x/31/x Ditto (I'm so glad!) and now I need to fish for my Staryu parent with x/x/30/30/x/x. My problem is, the spreads that are being generated are from Method 4. How do I change that? Or is it not in my control? If it isn't, would I just search for a x/x/30/30/x/x spread with Method 4 and attempt to hit that?

Edit: Tried hitting a Method 4 spread, but now the spreads are going back to Method 2 lol.
 
You're probably better off just catching a random Staryu and breeding for the IVs. Just find a random egg spread that yields 31s in SpA and SpD that are not from either parent.

Hmm you make a good point, especially since I'll get Wailmer 85% of the time.

So, when breeding, I'll have to hit the exact frame, right? I had some trouble hitting my exact frame for Ditto, but once I got a syncer it was easy (I was able to get 2 frames away, but never exact).

I'll try what you suggested. I already found a low frame that yields the 30s I need :] Thanks!

Does anyone know what affect the abilities Magnet Pull/Static and Cute Charm have on the RNG when your lead has them?
Specifically Cute Charm, if it "activates" (for lack of a better term) does it change the gender of a frame or advance to a frame with the opposite gender?

Since a 245 delay is impossible, you are probably getting some frame advancements before you start doing Elm calls. If the first call you are getting is actually Frame 3, and you start looking from Frame 1, you could find that pattern at a totally different delay.

Check to see if there are any wandering NPCs in Bill's house. I can't remember if there are. If yes, your starting frame may not be 1. Check if you have any roamers out roaming, they also increase your starting frame. If either of these things are the case, then look for your Elm pattern starting at a higher frame.

If you think you are doing everything right with Pikatimer, then call Elm 5 times and look for that sequence in the surrounding results, starting at any of the low frames. You can then verify you hit your seed by calling a few more times and seeing if it still matches up.

Just wanted to interject...if you're doing Emerald abuse on a cart like I have, you won't want to waste your time trying to do wild captures to use for parents. Wild captures/fishing is very random compared to legends and breeding. I have captured a handful of things, but some of the time it was probably just luck. It would be much easier to hit a breeding frame to make a parent than to capture one (unfortunately).

Yeah, I'm on a cart, and I already decided to breed my parent (But my other parent had to be a ditto, so I had to catch it since Ditto isn't breedable). I found a low frame that has the IVs I need, so I think I'm set. I just got a little side tracked and decide to take a break from 3G abuse to Entralink abuse my Technician Mime. Now, I'm going back to 4th gen. to do some breeding there, and then I'll go back to my 3rd gen. If I need help I'll post here :)
 
Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong here?
I'm in HG trying to RNG a wild, modest, flawless ditto on frame 112 (sweet scent) in route 47
I confirm that I have the right seed, and advance the frame to 110

But the ditto I end with is a modest one from frame 121
This has happened twice already (same ditto from same frame).
I am on my bike.

EDIT: Forgot about Wandering NPCs. . . They can advance the RNG while the sweet scent animation is going off, right? I'm not unpausing the game after hitting the target frame or anything. Once I hit the frame, I go straight to sweet scent.
 
In 4th gen, wandering NPCs don't advance the frame during the Sweet Scent animation. That little bundle of joy is 5th gen only, thankfully.

If the NPCs are in your way, they would be giving you a starting frame higher than 1, but once you have the Pokegear open you can easily check that and then carry on your advancing.

If you use the exit button on the Pokegear to get back to your party to Sweet Scent, the game unpauses and could advance your frame. When you finish your advances, you should tap B instead to keep the game paused while you go to your party.

Other than that...just make sure you are really on your target frame of 110 and the right seed before you SS.

Is on frame 944, and isn't a split, and i'm already "locked in the egg". Now, i suppose, i have to collect the egg when my timer shows 15 minutes and 73 seconds - What is 73 seconds?

And, i have only to collect the egg at the correct time?

0:15.73 <-- Notice the decimal point. It's 15 seconds not 15 minutes. Also you don't need a timer on an emulator. Just keep making save states that are closer and closer to your target frame until you're close enough to get it with a little luck.
 
How many frames does the Dialga sinjoh event advance? And is the starting frame 1?

As long as you take the shortest route possible, it will always advance by 8 frames. As for starting frame, iirc, it does indeed have a starting frame of 1.

I'm still not hitting the frame. I'm one step from the dialga tile that starts the event. I'm doing 10 Irwin calls to confirm my seed, and then 9 Joey calls to advance 18 frames with a final frame advancement by Irwin putting me at frame 30.
