[Puzzling] Adventure Games Mafia - Won by imperfectluck, LucasArts, and others

TL: It really doesn't matter what faction he is on. If he is a freelancer, his death benefits everyone. If he is Sierra/LucasArts, his death only harms his own faction. There is literally no reason not to lynch him.

Keep up the ss roll.

Everyone gathers and lynches teenage girl shinyskarmory with a giant pair of scissors.

Dear shinyskarmory,
You are Jennifer Simpson.

An orphan, you are taken to Granite Orphanage with your friends. However upon arrival, they are all slowly killed off by murderous Scissorman. Can you escape with your life?

Having run-ins with danger before, the first time you are targeted with a kill it will fail.

<Snip>

Your son is being held hostage! The kidnapper wants proof that you’d sacrifice for him.

You are a Freelancer. You win if you solve a single puzzle.

Moving on, you find your rightful king has died of thirst. askaninjask failed to find life giving water, nectar of the gods.

Dear askaninjask,
You are King Graham.

Once a valiant knight of Daventry, you took over the throne after proving your worth. This was only the start of many adventures however. You would go on to rescue a fair maiden in a far away land, start a family, then rescue that family from the clutches of the evil wizard Mordack. You also hate owls.

Being King, you have total control over your people and the first attempt to lynch you will fail.

<Snip>

You are about to erase your criminal record from inside the cyber police station, but the key to do so is on an electrified rack. You must find a way to grab it.

<Snip>

You are allied with Sierra. You win if your team solves four puzzles.

Ever the hero, Destiny Warrior ran out into the desert to save his king, but got lost and died as well.

Dear Destiny Warrior,
You are Emiya Shirou.

An amateur mage with no teacher, you stumbled into the Holy Grail War, a battle royale to the death between mages and legendary heroic spirits. There’s just one more problem; you refuse to take a life.

As your ambition is to be a superhero, once per cycle you can PM vonFiedler with “Cycle X - Decoy USER”. All actions that target USER will target you instead. You will survive a kill attempt through this action once.

<Snip>

You are defending an innocent man in court. You must find the evidence needed to find him not guilty.

You are a Freelancer. You win if you solve a single puzzle.

The old discard items have been picked up, only to be replaced by quite a few new ones;

Rags
Briefcase
Garbage
Large Net
Bullet Casings

It is now Cycle 3. Deadline is in 48 hours.

not lynching jalmont because he is overly defensive

He is the only person who posted nothing but a lynch vote yesterday, he clearly doesn't feel like contributing.

Lynch shinyskarmory

gtfo my game.

I have to agree with veed

NO LYNCH

EDIT: Ditto has a point, So lynch SuperSkarmory... i mean Lynch ShinySkarmory

lynch jalmont747

He is the only person who posted nothing but a lynch vote yesterday, he clearly doesn't feel like contributing.

Chomz: Which is why we need to lynch jalmont. He's trying to hard to blend with the ideals of this game, he is clearly a bad man.

I honestly hope your joking. I unfortunately didn't realize that "contributing" to this game required "agreeing" with someone or telling someone to "gtfo my game." It honestly seems like you're trying to start a bandwagon to avoid getting yourself lynched. I don't see how you've been contributing can you explain why we shouldn't lynch you instead?

Lynch Chomz.

Reasons for this lynch:
  • His death will reveal a new puzzle.
  • His death will add new item(s) to the discard pile.

In other words, because I can. Wouldn't it suck to lose the game just because I feel like lynching you over some other random person?

You are a computer programmer living with his mother, and a 38 year old virgin. When you lose your job and house, you decide to start living the wild life. Being a fan of the 70s you buy a polyester suit, gold chains, and go to town with sure-miss pickup lines.

As a seasoned lady’s man, each cycle you can PM vonFiedler with “Cycle X - Seduce USER1 to vote for USER2”. USER1 will vote to lynch USER2 in the next cycle.

According to an inspector I've been in contact with, this is iiMKUltra's role PM. I'm not 100% on whether it's entirely true, however, so if iiMK could come forward and explain himself that would be great.

Veedrock: I'm asking for an explanation because I still believe we should eliminate factions that happen to have the power to kill, and have a win condition which is at odds with ours (the fewer puzzles there are, the fewer Freelancers there are who are able to win). Just cause they're 'working as a team' doesn't make them the good guys. As can be seen from the previous set of results, the mafias are perfectly willing to nightkill and bandwagon Freelancers if they feel it'll help them. That's a pretty enemy-ish thing to do in my eyes. Also, to be frank, the way you've been posting throughout this thread makes it sound like you'd favour the mafias winning at the expense of the majority, which makes no sense to me. This is a mafia game and not a simple discussion thread for a reason - some are bound to lose, and I damn sure would want to try and eliminate the group that is putting my chances of victory in the biggest danger.

Basically, just stop trying to convince everyone that we can happily co-exist with the mafias. They will readily try to secure their win condition at our expense. I say we try and get rid of the night kills, and hopefully by then there'll be sufficient players gone for each remaining person to get a puzzle to solve. So yes, I do support co-operation, just within ourselves, not a faction that can kill us.

hey chomz you're worthless and nobody cares if you die in fact it'd be better because we'd get your items and we'd learn more information about the game

you say 'our'

who is 'we'

i don't care if you win the game, fuck co-operation i just want to win and so does everyone else in the game

as far as randlynching goes i'll vote if i have a reason to, and if it's my head on the block next so be it. anybody who wants my services should get into contact with me now, i'm sure they'd be a boon to you...for a price of course

I'm not calling them good guys (and especially not just because they're a team), but as far as I'm concerned they're as neutral as anybody else. Openly declaring a faction war is fatal to everyone.

Assuming all-out Freelancer vs Mafia war, let me work this out in writing:

20 players left, assumed 6 remaining Mafia and 14 Freelancers (assuming none are "wolf"). It'll take 6 cycles us to fully eliminate the Mafia, assuming we have a surefire suspect each cycle. In the meantime, they can kill anywhere between 8-12 Freelancers (more if we don't get a lynch properly). So after all is said and done there could be as little as 2 Freelancers left in the aftermath, a very small fraction of the playerbase. And of course, ALL of this banks on all Freelancers banding together, with nobody winning and being removed from the game in the process.

Do you really want to chance your odds of winning on being one of those select few survivors? If you really want a chance to win, focus on finishing a puzzle ASAP rather than focusing on removing the Mafia.

And if their nightkills are your biggest concern, is speaking out against them really the best thing for your health?

Veedrock: I'm not only focusing on removing the mafia. Believe it or not, I am working on my puzzle. Thing is, we get a lynch a cycle, so why not try and bring down one of the think tanks with it? It would be stupid to just randomly lynch people every cycle for no reason - better we try and accomplish something useful instead. If you have a better idea for what to do with our lynch, I'd love to hear it.

Okay, it's been a while since I put up that PM, and since iiMK doens't have anything to say about it, I'll just go ahead and get things started.

Lynch iiMKUltra

EDIT: You know what, never mind, I think that PM might be a fake. It's missing the second <snip>, which all the mafia PMs that have flipped so far seem to have. The inspector told me that might be because iiMK didn't have an item to begin with, but his role doesn't seem even remotely powerful enough to not have it start with an item. And frankly, at this point I don't care who gets lynched anymore; someone start a bandwagon and I'll jump on it.

EDIT2: Ah nvm, I'll just put my vote in.
