Only the newest model has a camera.

Even then, due to the way the images app on iPod touches work, I'm not sure you can upload images from them. Mine is a 3rd gen iPod touch, and it won't upload pictures that I put on it, to any website (vBulletin's attachments function, even if it did exist for Smogon, will not work on iPod touch, nor the iPad 1st gen I'm posting from now, and I've tried on multiple vBulletin forums).

Now my question: which Pokemon, with absolutely no setup, has the best potential to attempt a midgame sweep, given its supported by a VoltTurn team? I've been using LO MixApe, but I don't like it's tendency to die within a few turns due to needing to switch in from U-Turn. I also used BandApe, but that couldn't take advantage of Overheat, and I'm not really happy with either.

On a similar note, my Jirachi is currently my defensive tank on said VoltTurn team, and it runs Fire Punch, U Turn, Iron Head and Wish. Should I get one with no speed, though? I U-Turn often with it, but due to being faster than many opponents, I end up getting my switch in killed b the attack, before Wish can heal it. Can Jirachi be slow enough to allow my switch ins to not get hurt? I was thinking 0 Speed IV's and no investment, with a negative speed nature. Can anyone tell me, if there are any Pokemon I should really watch out for if I use this? And also, would it be worth running Stealth Rock and Body Slam on this Jirachi, given I have a Magic Mirror Xatu with Thunder Wave already?

Leech Seed is ignored on a Pokemon with Magic Guard until the ability is nullified through usage of Gastro Acid/Skill Swap/whatever else that removes MG from the Pokemon.

Hence, nothing will happen.

I've used Sigilyph enough on Random Matchup to be able to answer this. If Leech Seed does no damage, Leech Seed heals no HP. So no, the Pokémon won't still gain HP.

Right, thanks guys!

im running ferrothorn relaxed with ingrain swagger iron head iron defense in trick room party.
two questions. should i stay ingrain or leach seed and swagger or curse? for an annoyer/staller

Ferro's got a wealth of HP, but not many turns to use it. So, wasting a turn on Ingrain isn't really worth it, when Leech Seed will also heal you, and damage the opponent as well. Plus, your other moves aren't for boosting yourself, so you have nothing to worry about from phazers. This is assuming you run Swagger, which is really annoying.

If you choose curse, the keep Ingrain, so you can keep your boosts. I'd still shoes LS + Swagger though.

All NPC pokemon are un-trained and have random IVs. (EDIT, apparently I am wrong, IGNORE ME)

I haven't been on here in a while, and I just have a quick question - is DreamWorld Shroomish released yet, and if not, will it be soon?

Are the Pokémon used in the Battle Subway EV trained? If so, do they have perfect IVs?
Yes (typically, they're 255/255 or 170/170/170 spreads). They also have perfect IVs starting at I think battle 49, but I'm not sure so double check with someone else on that

No. And no news on when it will come out.

Wow, no wonder they are so hard! They have firepower to match ours!
Now, if the gym leaders if have that kind of training, then that will be a real challenge!

And a question:
What are the best places in the game to raise large sum of money on a short notice?

Elite Four with an Amulet Coin Pokémon. This is true almost regardless of the game you play (as long as it is one of the main series games that isn't FR/LG/R/B/Y).

I was in a wild double battle i white and both of my active pokemon fainted, I had only one remaining pokemon, I was sent to the screen to pick my next pokemon however when I selected it it sent me back to the same screen, this persisted no matter how many times I selected the last pokemon, is this a known glitch?

You have to switch it to the first pokemon slot first.

You have to select which of the fainted Pokémon you want the one you're sending out to replace.

So I got sent here from my initial thread so here goes nothing with my newbie question!

Is it possible to create a compitative team using only pokemons from pokemon black? I've really been enjoying what I've read about the sandstorm teams, but what weather would you guys recommend for a newbie like myself, who's just getting into the game.
I don't know if it is to much to ask, but can someone post a exemple of a weather team using one of the three starting pokemons. Or a compitative dragon team?

Please help a newbie out. :D

You might want to lurk a bit, since you're just going to get redirected over and over again. If you want a good example of teams, go to the RMT (Rate My Team) section of the forums, and there you'll find many teams pre built with ideas on what to watch out for and what you can beat easily. There ought to be a good selection of Weather teams and of Dragon teams (more likely the usual 4drag2mag teams, possibly some Dragon HO as well).

For competitive teams using only Black, probably best to look at making a mono-fighting team. Look at the Warstory "fighting the enemy". It's not the best Warstory, but shows off how a mono-fighting team can work. From black, you've got Virizion, Scrafty, Conkeldurr, Mienshao and Terrakion. You only need to work out a replacement for Lucario and you're done.

Still, best to head to the Wifi section of the boards to trade for Pokemon which are already EV Trained and with perfect IV's or you won't be as competitive as you can be. If you don't know what EVs and IV's are, then read the tutorials and lurk more.

And also keep in mind that there are no weather starters in Black (unless you count Ninetales or Politoed from DW) which means you'll be weather-less.

He can always use Raind Dance/Sunny Day/Sandstorm/Hail. Although obviously very ineffective since he won't have the rocks either, but still possible.

I know that Smogon usually deals with the competitive enviroment of Pokemon. Still, is there a section for less formal discussions about Pokemon, ergo off the "competitive"-topic, but not off the "Pokemon"-topic, somewhere they talk about Pokemon merchandise, the 'verse in general, or Trollfreaks hating Farfetch'd? The Ruins are slightly less formal, but mostly due nostalgia - besides 5th gen has no place in.
