I'd be very cautious about lava traps, as there's a good chance the person who set them will forget about them...

Im pretty shore its a server problem if two people from the same place cant log in and get the same message.

Ah, one thing I want to mention before I forget.

I managed to enchant Silk Touch onto a diamond shovel! I'll be sure to use it if/when we find a mushroom biome so we can get mycelium.

And not that anyone cares, but I'll be gone until Thursday.

this is my theory as well - as an interim solution of sorts, i've set up some nether wart at the blaze spawner :/

It does not affect the farms at this time because the area covered is rather small.
