5th Gen PRNG Help / Info - Latest: RNG Reporter 9.96.5, PPRNG 1.15.0

Do wandering NPCs continue to wander while you've got the menu up? I'm trying to RNG catch a special flawless Solosis on route 5 and I keep getting very inconsistent results. Would it be better to use Chatots to advance the PID frame or wait for the NPCs to wander and advance it for me?

NPCs do not move while the menu is up. Alternately, there are no moving NPCs on Route 9 if I remember right, maybe try for Duosion there instead?

I want to do a Scyther capture. I have HGSS and DPPt. I am guessing the easiest is in DPPt because I heard there is a area on route 210 where NPCs won't disturb you after using VS. Seeker on 1 NPC.

Does anyone know this exact location?

Scyther can be captured (Diamon only) on Route 210, there are 4 NPCs, but you can use the VS. Seeker on all of them, so they won't advance your frame

Actually, it's Platinum only!

Hazey: Scyther is at Route 210 South, right above Solaceon Town. Btw, next time post in the Most Generations Help Thread. This thread is for 5th Gen. RNG Help only. ;)

Well, a few people tested out RNG Reporter 9.93 in the past few hours and nobody reported any glaring issues, so...

RNG Reporter 9.93 download

- Added: Gender filter to main window
- Added: PID and Characteristics can now be calculated for Entralink Pokémon
- Added: Method H for 3rd Gen wild captures

- Fixed: a small glitch where males and females could be incorrectly calculated for Pokemon of the 75% M\25% F and 25% M\75% F ratios
- Fixed: an issue where the Delay textboxes on the 4th Gen Shiny egg finder were greyed out
- Fixed: an issue where Gen 4 egg PID frames would always start at frame 1 even if a different initial frame was specified
- Fixed: a crash that would occur if the Time Finder progress window was closed from the taskbar
- Fixed: a seed calculation error that affected less than one percent of seeds
- Fixed: UNGL Wondercard (now called GLAN Wondercard) now correctly accessible from the Time Finder

- Removed: Method 3 from main window and IVs to PID as it doesn’t exist in-game

- Added: PID and Characteristics can now be calculated for Entralink Pokémon
How does one search for this? Just enter the C-Gear Seed into the seed box on the main window and use Gen 5 PIDRNG? When I do that I get an error box to input the full seed...

This is going to be complicated, and will need a little guide to make full use of this feature. Both standard seeds and C-Gear seeds are involved.

Long story short, this feature will make it possible to determine how far away you were from your desired nature, so you can adjust your timing accordingly.

Here's the gist of it:

C-Gear seed timing
-> extrapolate backwards to the Standard Seed Time
-> Simple Seed Generator to generate your Standard Seeds according to that Time
-> Find out which one you hit with a Parameter Search at that time (what timer0)
-> This is now the Standard Seed for the method

-> Input the IVs by right clicking the Output and Display Characteristics
-> Shabam, find what you hit, extrapolate the amount of time you should wait.

Be sure to arrange your Entralink Forest so that no other Pokemon are in the areas you pass through (they move and advance the PIDRNG).

1.733~ seconds on average per frame advance by the C-Gear (via research thread)

There are motorbike riders there, but they seem to have a predetermined path that they follow. Do NPCs with a predetermined path advance the PID frame in a predictable manner (i.e. the same way every time) or do they not advance it at all?

GLAN's Timefinder interface looks different from the wondercard searches I used to do (e.g. for Victini or Event Mewtwo). How do you operate it? (e.g. What's this delay option?)

Thanks PoJ, Shii beat you to the punch!

And yeah, I was looking for my post on the 4th gen thread for like 10 minutes until I realized I accidentally posted here.

Since I'm here, if I want to abuse my ID and SID for BW (even dppt and HGSS)...how do I find the seed I want to abuse for. Everything else seems easy but it doesn't say how you find your nice flawless shiny seed?

Yes, but not with no$.

There's no support/help here in this thread for those on emulators, aside from previous posts. It is all too easy to abuse on a retail cart with a DS/DSi/3DS. Therefore it is required that you know how to RNG on a cart before you attempt it with an emulator.

What are you talking about? Both Wondercard interfaces are exactly the same, and you perform searches exactly the same way. If it looks different to you, you really need to upgrade to 9.93.

I guess I should explain the "True Minimum Frame" feature a bit since more than a few people are asking questions about it.

Each seed starts at a different PIDRNG frame - that's why we need the "Calculate Initial PIDRNG Frame" button on the main window. As a result, in the past, 55 was the recommended minimum frame for Wondercard searches. You never knew if a seed started on 39 or 43 or even 50, so I didn't want to confuse people by having Time Finder show them results they couldn't even hit.

However, this also meant that if you had a great spread on frame 45 of a seed that started at frame 39, you would never see it because of the Frame 55 minimum.

Now, the Time Finder calculates the starting frame for each seed automatically, so no spreads are missed. So when Time Finder asks you what your "Maximum Frame Offset" is, it is basically the maximum number of Chatot flips you are willing to do.

Does anyone have the slightest of an clue why I cant find my parameters? Ive tries a couple of times and it doesnt find anything.

I am having the same exact problem :/ I try different dates and times and I do it correctly with the correct MAC address but I do not get results. Any help on this is appreciated

Edit: Fixed <3
