Media Yu-Gi-Oh discussion

I'm pretty psyched about the new dragon structure deck that's going to come out soon. The support that dragons are going to get may push them into tier 1.5-2. I've been testing on DN, and the deck is extremely fun and explosive:

P.S. Future Fusion is broken

Lightpulsar Dragon is gonna be insane. It's a shame that the Cannon Soldier + Lightpulsar Dragon + Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon F/OTK got dismantled by a ruling.

Regionals report (I ran Plant/Zombies):

Pack pulls: JUNK! and not the synchron or warrior variety. The only holo I pulled was Extra Gate :(

R1: Faced Scraps. Lost game 1 because he got his Scrap Dragons out too fast, and then made a Twin Scrap Dragon and I couldn't do anything to it. Won games 2 and 3 though, by controlling and synchro-exploding. Pretty boring round tbh.

1-0

R2: Mirror Match :O. I talked to this guy a bit prior to the tourney though, so we saw it coming. I won g1 idr how, Game 2 I lost after stalling forever behind reaper + tons of traps. Game 3 I went first and opened with Heavy, Dark Hole, Debris Dragon, Dandylion, One for One, and Foolish. I did nothing turn one, then only set the drawn Debunk on turn 2. Next turn I used Heavy and Dark Hole, then set up a Librarian + Formula play and never looked back.

2-0

R3: Dark World. Game 1 he tributed his Sangan for a Silva, then used DDV to neuter me and won. Game 2 I won somehow I don't really remember. Game 3 I opened shit (D.D. Crow, Caius, BLS as my only monsters) but drew very well, ended with a Gorz token and his reborned Grapha attacking him for game.

3-0

R4: T.G.s. Game 1 he opened with Rai-Oh and a bunch of backrows and dominated me. Game 2 I won after grinding it out for a while. Game 3 went into time fairly early (like, after 3-5 turns each, not really sure), and I was down quite a bit from attacks and maybe Solemns. He got both uses of his Leviair before that which set him up a lot. I tried to come back, but I forgot a Goblin Zombie search, which may or may not have won it for me, but it'd make it closer.

3-1

R5: Hero Beat. Game 1 he opened Rai-Oh and just enough protection so I couldn't do anything. Game 2 was going back and forth until he went into The Shining and Fossil Dyna. I stalled with Reaper, until he summoned Grand Mole. Eventually I got out double reaper, and he couldn't get past both, so I had a good stall out. I tried to break this by running over Dyna with Rai-oh, then synching from grave to kill The Shining, but when I special summoned Spore, he used Torrential and won.

3-2

R6: Rabbit matchup. Game 1 he opened garbage besides D-Fissure, so Rai-Oh, Mezuki, and Zombie Master beat him down. Game 2 He opened with Rabbit->Laggia + 3 backrows, aka gg. Game 3 we whittled it down to a topdeck war. I topdecked Goblin Zombie and set it. He topdecks Thunder King :(. I try to stall with Reaper but he uses Forbidden Lance on it. I lost...

3-3 Drop. I was getting very frustrated at this game, plus I was very physically tired, so I left early. Also I wanted to get some rest because I'm going to locals tomorrow, and they're having a big tourney where first gets 3x tour guide, and 1st-8th all get something. I probably won't top but I'll try :D

After bitching constantly about Inzektor decks and how they practically play Solitare until a good chunk of your field is wiped out, I decided to go and make one.

Monsters: 21
3 Armageddon Knight
1 Dark Armed Dragon
2 Genex Ally Birdman
3 Inzektor Centipede
3 Inzektor Dragonfly
3 Inzektor Giga-Mantis
3 Inzektor Hornet
1 Mystic Tomato
1 Sangan
1 Plaguespreader Zombie

Spells: 9
1 Allure of Darkness
1 Dark Hole
1 Foolish Burial
1 Heavy Storm
1 Monster Reborn
2 Mystical Space Typhoon
2 Pot of Duality

Traps: 10
2 Bottomless Trap Hole
2 Compulsory Evacuation Device
1 Mirror Force
1 Solemn Judgment
2 Solemn Warning
1 Torrential Tribute
1 Trap Dustshoot

Extra Deck
1 Ally of Justice Catastor
1 Black Rose Dragon
1 Brionac, Dragon of the Ice Barrier
1 Gaia Knight, the Force of Earth
1 Locomotion R-Genex
1 Orient Dragon
1 Red Dragon Archfiend
1 Scrap Dragon
1 Stardust Dragon
1 Trishula, Dragon of the Ice Barrier
1 Inzektor Exa-Beetle
1 Leviair the Sea Dragon
1 Leviathan Dragon
2 Wind-Up Zenmaines

Armageddon Knight can be crucial in a multitude of ways. Armageddon Knight tosses Inzektor Hornet into the Graveyard, making it easier for Dragonfly and Centipede to grab it and destroy a card my opponent controls, which will then activate their effects. Second, Armageddon Knight helps to thin out my deck, which helps when I need that one card just to turn around the duel or buy myself another turn. Third, Armageddon Knight creates, and is, fuel for Dark Armed Dragon later on in the duel. Genex Ally Birdman can help me snap into a Level 6 or Level 9 Synchro Monster, and return Dragonfly to my hand for re-use later on (even better if Dragonfly has Giga-Mantis Equipped to it). Speaking of Giga-Mantis, I run 3, which some people might find strange. However, looking at its two effects, I don't really think it's that odd. You can Equip Giga-Mantis to any Inzektor on the field and the Equipped Monster's attack immediately jumps to 2400. Then, if Giga-Mantis goes to the Graveyard, Special Summon any Inzektor in the Graveyard. That's a pretty damn good effect. I feel that I should add a second Mystic Tomato to my deck, to speed up the process of getting out my Inzektors.

On the Spell and Trap Card front, everything seems pretty standard. Spell Cards are your standard staples, with Foolish Burial in there to (once again) throw Hornet into the Graveyard for Centipede/Dragonfly/Dark Armed Dragon fuel. Lair Wire can be pretty useful at times, when I've exhausted all other ways to retrieve Dragonfly/Hornet/Centipede, or when I need to cut down on the DARK Monsters in my Graveyard to summon Dark Armed Dragon. It also combos well with Leviair the Sea Dragon.

Reposting because fuck, this deck is awesome, Order of Chaos is right around the corner, and Inzektors are awesome. Took out both Lair Wires because they sucked, added 2 CED and 1 Plaguespreader.

I wouldn't mind if Black Rose Dragon got the ban hammer. I'm getting tired of cornering my opponent to gg land only to have him pull that piece of garbage out of his behind and blow everything up and win due to me dead drawing or him monster reborning a boss monster... To my dismay, there's nothing inherently wrong with that accursed rose... :(

black rose is a skill card. it almost never plusses off as planned due to all the prevention in the form of solemns/book/bottomless/maxx-c/torrential etc

Then I guess i'm just unlucky.

It's mostly in Synchro decks, so i guess that's where I have problems.

I had a 4000 atk GEPD, REDMD, and BEWD with decent protection (TT and MST) and a 5 headed dragon ready to come out next turn. The turd blew everything up and used Monster Reborn to gg...

If you see him about to synchro with a 7 star on the field, you should probably torrential that first. It's not Black Rose that's the problem, haha, it's Monster Reborn!

Didn't matter if I flooded the dang field or not. He still uses monster reborn and summons a massive beatstick that GGs me due to open field with no protection.

IMO, you should always have a method to sync into Stardust Dragon if you want to play with a dragon deck. Offensive dragon builds tend to overextend, and if you get hit by a mirror force or dark hole, that really hurts. If you don't have Stardust, make sure you have some sort of backup, like Solemn or Lightpulsar (who can get Red-eyes out from the grave if both dragons get hit by dark hole at the same time).

But yea, I don't think Black Rose is banworthy. As Atticus said, it usually doesn't plus, and if it does, you were probably overextending or making bad plays/decisions. It's not broken like JD, who can blow up the field and then attack you for 3000. Honestly, Reborn seems like the broken card in your recount, and that should have never come off the ban list.

also stuck with the side deck, should i just use staple sides like leeching the light and gemini imps or something else?

Made a new deck that revolves around HERO monsters and plenty of Synchro Summons.

I might take out Grand Mole, Gaia, and Escuridao, but any other tips on how to make it better, as well some potential cards to use for a Side Deck would be appreciated.

Recently tried Gate Heroes, and holy fuck, I hated it. Dead draws constantly, even when using the standard Gate Heroes build. Going back to Inzektors and T.G. Piper.

I think you should stick a BLS in there somewhere. You can use golden to drop a trap and get whoever, then XYZ into lavalval. Use lavalval's effect to discard hanzo to the grave, and the xyz material that would be used is golden, so right there you have your light and dark. That's a strategy for the first few turns, but you have what looks to be around 8 light, and 3 searchable darks, so getting BLS on the field should be no problem no matter what phase (time-wise) of the duel you are in.

Renegade, where are your Super Polymerizations? How can you be running any type HERO deck without them? Stealing an opponent's monster to fuse with your own HERO is the entire reason behind running at least one of every type of HERO Fusion available.

Thought Ruler Archfiend isn't that great of a Synchro, unless you're running Psychics. Over Thought Ruler, I would run Scrap Dragon. Far more use, can destroy opponent's monsters without having to worry about battling them, etc. You could also run a combination where you sacrifice Level Eater to use Scrap Dragon's effect to destroy an opponent's card, then bring back Level Eater using its effect. As for Turbo Warrior, I'd get rid of it and use either Gaia Knight, the Force of Earth (2600 ATK beatstick that gets over quite a few Synchros) or Orient Dragon (destroy an opponent's Synchro when you Synchro Summon it).

On a personal note, I finally finished my Inzektor deck.

uHMkM.jpg

Completely ditched the mini Synchro engine I had going with Birdman and Plaguespreader, redirected all focus on supporting Inzektors. Veilers are there for mirror matches, BLS is there because of the Veilers, and the Synchros I had before stuck around since Veiler is conveniently a Tuner.

It sucks, so I dropped it. It's a four card investment, at best, and it's effect is ass. I'd rather keep Dragonfly and/or Centipede on the field and keep getting +4s each turn or XYZ into Zenmaines/Giga-Brilliant than get a terrible Level 6 XYZ. I also can't remember why Mist Wurm is there, considering I have no way of actually summoning it. I must have brain problems or something.

Edit: In advance, I'm only running 2 Pot of Duality because I needed to make room for a third Mystical Space Typhoon for when Inzektors start getting popular and people start running Skill Drain and/or Shadow-Imprisoning Mirror.

The best deck I've made so far. Dragunity can be so fast it's a little sickening and I wind up making mistakes sometimes cause of how fast it is. I usually just stick to the level 8 Synchros and hope to god that I can get Red Nova. (I actually only put in Red Nova because I love the song "Clear Mind". I'd use Shooting Star, but I cant find any room for formula and it's tuners. Otherwise it'd be much easier to get Shooting star than red nova.)

I can get stardust out very easily and uncommonly I can get both stardust and Darkness Metal Dragon out on the first turn.

It also has extremely good top-decks. I won 3 duels today because of an awesome top deck and almost won the 4th if my opponent didn't top-deck something a million times better twice. lol

That's not to say this deck doesn't have it's bad ends. This deck is heavily reliant on the first hand. If it's bad, I'm gonna have to play catch up the entire duel and I never really get over it. The draws can be great but that start hand is what makes or breaks this decks wins. I'm thinking about getting rid of some of the traps for more spells sense most of my bad hands tend to be traps with monsters and my traps are more for Defense than offense. at the same time though I can name more than a few times those traps have saved me but more often or not they don't seem to work all that well. If anyone has some advice on what I can replace for this deck feel free to tell me.

Are the two Call of the Haunted's necessary? Do you find yourself using them that often, if at all?

If not, I'd suggest you drop those two. I would recommend Prime Material Dragon, to guard your Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon a bit more, but then your deck becomes a bit too monster-heavy and you'll probably end up drawing into dead hands far faster. Have you thought about Pot of Duality in this deck, or would it slow it down too much?

P.S: Why didn't you just use the screencap button at the top-right?
