5th Gen PRNG Help / Info - Latest: RNG Reporter 9.96.5, PPRNG 1.15.0

The main window is the window that opens when you first open the program.

Like I said, just hit the seed that you found in the time finder, find your Shifted Starting Frame, hit your seed again, and advance accordingly to your target PID frame (267). :)

I'm new to RNG completely and am trying to calibrate. But when I enter the IV ranges of my captured Pokemon and search, I don't get a seed result. What am I doing wrong?

I'm using the latest RNG reporter version (9.93 beta).

Well... you kind of need to give us more information :P

What's the exact process you're doing while trying to find your parameters?

Start by double-checking that you entered everything right, and try calibrating one or two more times to make sure it wasn't a fluke.

I pretty much did everything in bearsfan092's video: entered mac address etc, then started the game at the time I typed into RNG reporter, used sweet scent in victory road, caught a pokemon, got its IV range, typed that in, then pressed search.
The only thing that might have gone wrong was getting the time wrong initially, but I still got no seed in the results box when I restarted RNG reporter and put in the time correctly.

EDIT: I caught 3 pokemon, 2 when I had the initial mistake (with only one actually having the wrong time), and 1 after I restarted RNG reporter

EDIT2: tried again, still no result. I noticed that the search function disappears before the progress bar goes all the way to the right; is this normal?

EDIT3:OH GOD DAMN IT my DS had the wrong date; sorry for wasting everyone's time.
On the plus side I caught a badass woobat and also can begin making progress!

Alright, i successfully completed my first RNG, Yay! Now i want to RNG a shiny Terrakion, but i can't find a process that is understandable to me. -.- Can anyone walk me through how i should go about getting that?

Is the nature RNG independent from the IV RNG? Like, if I start a stopwatch when I enter the entralink, and 2:20 later I get a Gentle nature, will I always get a Gentle nature at 2:20 even if I don't hit the same delay?

Also, the entralink guide makes reference to soft resetting instead of hard resetting. When is the hard reset done? I'm not sure when I'm supposed to soft reset.

No. Both RNGs are based on the same seed.

You hard reset and soft reset at the same time. Choose one or the other depending on your preference.

I got Gentle a few times when I hit random delays, but I just hit my delay and got Adamant. One down, three to go. :) I'll see if I can repeat it once I figure out if I can cancel my dream world account and remake it without playing through the game again.

I suppose I should ask; does the nature RNG continue to advance when you're waiting at "add this Pokémon to your party"? I suppose if it doesn't, I'll have to scale it back to recording the time before I run into the clearing.

I'm afraid it does.

I'm afraid it does.

That actually works for me, heh. I'm starting an online stopwatch when I hit A after the second timer (entering the Entralink), doing my advancements, then running up to Arceus and waiting for the timer to hit 2:20 before saying yes to him.

Hopefully, with this same seed, I'll be able to "easily" clear out my Deepest Clearing of anything I want Adamant by doing the same.

edit: It looks like I'm going to have to restart my secondary to farm Arceus (just like I had to do it to farm Victini, sigh). I had a leftover Victini Wondercard on there, so I figured I'd grab a Hasty one as I have multiples of all the other natures I could possibly want. Forgot that I needed Chatots, but to hell with that- nailed it in two tries by counting the NPC turns. Standard seed, like a boss 8) I would guess that it's +2 to frame every second or so, even if she doesn't turn ("don't turn" is apparently an option the RNG can select). Or maybe it's +1 every half second, I dunno.

Of course, now that I think about it, Electro Ball Mewtwo comes out in two weeks so if I wait until then to continue, I can do both at once and cut down on the number of times I have to suffer through the first hour of BW.

Alright, so I gave up trying to RNG Volcarona as I just couldn't seem to get it to work, so I tried my hand at ENGing a perfect shiny Minccino, which I managed to succeed with on the second try http://www.pokecheck.org/?p=detail&uid=775865 now I'm trying again only this time I'm trying to make a Flawless Shiny Eevee that I'm going to evolve into a Jolteon with it's Hidden Ability, The Mother is a Espeon with Magic Bounce and it's father is a Flawless Zoroark, but no matter how many time's I attempt the RNG Method (non-C-Gear) I always seem to be miles off my actual seed and I don't know why this is

Also here's some screenshots of RNG Reporter

I'm trying to Wondercard RNG a Victini, and I'm following the onsite instructions. But I don't understand them - where do I enter my seed? Or do I need to put in the IVs I got?

Umm, IIRC, stationary and wild pokemon are in different frames.
Volcarona is stationary, and wild Minccino is of course, wild :p
Maybe you used the wild pokemon shiny frame?
Or you miscalculated the number of chatot flips?

Ok lemmie rephrase what I posted, I couldn't get Volcarona to be shiny so I gave up and decided to try again later and decided to try breeding a RNG'd Minccino, which I did and have linked too in my previous post, and now I'm trying to RNG Breed a shiny Eevee but no matter what I do I seem to be missing the Seed I'm trying to hit by miles and I don't know what I'm doing wrong thus why I linked teh screenshot's of my RNG Reporter settings

Probably another case of the combined unnecessary NPC movements and Timer0 fluctuations, in case of breeding :(

For Volcarona, IDK really... probably Timer0 messing up again, depending on the seed, it will fluctuate on one seed more than the other.

I would like to start RNGing for a shiny, but to do that I need my secret trainer ID right? How can I figure out my secret ID in black and white?

Yes, you need it. Since it's no longer possible to calculate in-game, you have to either upload a Pokémon to Pokécheck or use an AR (or trade with someone who can do one of those).

If for whatever reason you can't/don't want to do any of that, your only other option would be to start a new game and RNG your ID/SID.

If I upload a pokemon to the Pokecheck to check for my SID, would it invalidate my game for competitive play during tournaments? or any other negative effect like that? Thanks in advance

No. If you change the DNS back to Auto, there is absolutely no way to tell you did it.

So I got comfortable with RNG on Gen 4 and a little of HG/SS about a year ago or so, but then I stopped playing completely. Well now I have Pokemon Black and a 3DS. And from the videos I have watched and posts I have read, it seems to not be possible to generate a shiny seed in RNG Reporter with a 3DS? Someone correct me if I am wrong but I believe you can only determine shininess if you use the Standard Seed, which doesn't work with a 3DS.

I'm new to 5th Gen RNG, and I'm currently stuck on the Calibration phase. I'm using a DSi (as it's the only handheld I have currently). I'm having trouble syncing with my computer clock-When I press Save to set the time, the DSi time is off by a second or more. Any way I can fix this problem, like saving a second or 2 before the external clock becomes the next minute?
Thanks in advance.
