Pokémon Black 2 and White 2 (DS, June in JP, Fall in EU/NA/AU) - Updated May 12th

I have a prediction!
Paired games have always been an alternate-universe situation. The games are the same, but you can find different Pokemon, or the storyline is even slightly different.
Black and White played this up with having cities that existed only in one version.

So my prediction is that B2/W2 will play it up even further - if they are sequels, which is probable, they will be sequels only to their namesake, and I think this will result in alternate timelines! Remember how Reshiram/Kyurem represented truth/ideals? These new games will be based off the worlds resulting from choosing one of these.
Or maybe that's too deep for Pokemon, and we will just get different Gym Leaders and cities like in B/W, but up to eleven!

EDIT: The new formes themselves are not so good. They are way to complicated and samey, and have no overall cohesion... plus they look pretty hard to draw, and I like drawing Pokemon.

You'd have a non-dragon with access to Outrage and Draco Meteor and that just doesn't happen.

Outrage Snorlax, Tyranitar, Swampert, Kangaskhan...

And guys, as much as I'd love a RSE sequel (yes, sequel, it CAN'T be a remake because BW's events happen 3+ years after RBY/RSE/FRLG and same-generation games are always at the same timeline), I swear you are just grasping at straws here. The ONLY things that could even *hint* at these games having Hoenn for now are... the logos, with those blue and red patterns. And even then, it's because of Reshiram and Zekrom's typing. Besides, it wouldn't be the same as RSE. That's like saying you would never play FRLG because HGSS has Kanto and Johto. Guess what, the experience is not the same.

On a sidenote, I'm starting to not like those Kyurem, as I've just noticed their tails. They look too much like fusion pokémon, and I'm not sure I really want that in the series. Game Freak will do a good work, I'm sure (as we know Reshiram and Zekrom were a single pokémon back in time, so having fusions DOES make sense) but, for now, they look bad for the franchise.

EDIT-- JESUS HOVERING CHRIST, I had an epiphany. Those are not Kyurem. Those are Reshiram and Zekrom's true formes. "Nigga please, BW have alternate formes pre-programmed for KYUREM" fuck you, that's the point. Reshiram and Zekrom are two Kyurem. The original pokémon divided into two (according to legend, but it was actually into three) Kyurem, which had that appearance during the Unova War, and then they got weaker (thawed?) and became Resh/Zek.

Man, I'm such a genius.

the shit I think when I don't sleep for two days

My two cents:

-Both formes keep their Ice/Dragon typing. Freeze Shock and Ice Burn are ice attacks and, looking at the designs, they're dragons covered in ice.

-They're going to make them competitively viable to the point they're going to be uber. Unlike what someone said, GF actually does care about the competitive scene when they want to.
Cover pokemon not named Pikachu and Charizard need to be strong in order to increase the sales.

-680 BST at the very least. Higher BST isn't out of the realm of possibility.

Am I the only one who noticed this?

We could be brothers!

As for a potential new region, Unova was based on the US, so a new region should totally be based on Europe.

(If this hasn't been speculated already) I'd just like to scare everyone into realising the possiblity that these new formes will be like Meloetta and will require Kyurem to use Ice Burn / Freeze Shock in order to transform.

one of my friends brought up an interesting point. The games are officially known as "Pokemon Black Version 2" and "Pokemon White Version 2". Notice the "Version 2"--this maybe Nintendo's new way of marketing a 3rd version of BW, with similar plot and everything, that has simply been split into 2 games to maintain that sense of duality present in BW--like N picking one dragon in one game and picking the other dragon in the other game.

(Sorry if someone already said this) Just a speculation, but we're probably going to get this in Sep-Oct which will be awesome. They probably won't wait for the usual March time since they seem to be rushed, and they won't do it near Christmas since they'll be focusing on the WiiU.

Jesus Christ I would rage so much if that do that to Kyurem. The poor dragon is already crippled everything-wise, throw the damn creature a bone already. That mechanic in within itself was horrible and felt in par with Slow Start in ill-thought ideas.

Okay guys, Kyurem's alternate formes have a 99% chance of being Dragon/Ice. You guys can keep saying Ice/Fire and Ice/Electric all you want, but take a look at them. They're dragons. They're going to be Dragon-type mokemon because they're dragons.

Of course, if Game Freak did make them Dragon-type, it would be such a curve-ball, because keeping the same type for different formes has never been done before.

[speculation]Okay folks, my specular maps:
  • New story. I don't know if this is actually going to happen, but if they didn't, they'd probably do their same ol' thing they normally do. Since they said they were plannin' the B1W1 story since DP, we can assume that any plotholes are going to be tied up, and this is the place to do 'em. It's a likely option.
  • Region: haven't got a clue what to expect. If we stay in Unova, we probably won't see N until really late in the game. If we're in another land, we will probably meet N, or even play as him. That'd be cool, 'specially since N is awesome and a good guy.
  • Kyurem: see above.
  • Tutors, frontier, and other non-story-related features: probs gonna happen, especially if these are just yellow and yellow. I'd say they'd add anything in to get us to buy it. I'd also say we'd buy it if they just added that shit in.
[/speculation]

*theorymon here* since we could only speculate that kyurem was the by-product of reshiram and zekrom splitting, what if we were wrong? What if the entity had a two-stage split? And i for one still wanna know the original entiry. It must have been powerful as heck o.O

The "Version 2" shouldn't be read separately. The other games were called "Pokemon Black Version" and "Pokemon White Version". Therefore, the sequels should not be read as "Pokemon Black/White: Version 2". It's the same as any other numbered sequel. It's just a confusing title. Ignore the word "Version" like I'm sure you've always done. If it were the way you're thinking, there'd be no reason to switch the legendaries.

@mario with lasers you could be right except for one thing, the reshi/zek arent thawed versions, when they split, the two ice halves merged. I mean look at em. The zekrom one has half of kyurems makeup and the reshiram one has the other half, and if youll notice on the original kyurem, its body never quite matches up. Its not crippled, KYUREM is the fusion

And after all this, i still have no idea how to pronounce kyurem (k-eye-yoo-rem?). but anyway. game freak/nintendo KNOW how badly people want a RSE remake, they wouldn't give it to us like this....I hope...

I just realized.

GF would never put us back in Hoenn, because that takes away another game that they can remake for easy cash.

Go and say that to Charizard. I dare you.

Okay, you do have a point. However I would like to point out that the pokemon's original forme is Dragon-type, and it is a legendary pokemon, so I guess what I meant was based on its appearance it's not going to lose its dragon typing.
