Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

OK I am restarting platinum and plan on Abusing my ID/SID.

First I am trying to find a shiny spread that I can use for most of the legends on my game (Probably Timid, as Palkia, Heatran, Darkrai, Shaymin, can use that).
first, from my recent readings, I've heard in HG/SS you can RNG a ID/SID that gives you multiple flawless shiny spreads. Can you do this in platinum? And if so, can anyone direct me to a place where i can find these types of PIDs/Seeds?
 
I want to RNG for Darkrai in Pt. The problem is that once you trigger the event you're locked in an area with no wild pokes to catch, record in the journal, and use for frame advancement. So here's what I need to know. How many frames, approximately, are advanced when you go into the Harbor Inn, go to sleep, and enter the Newmoon Island dream?

Yes, of course it's possible in Platinum :P

And, unfortunately, I can't direct you to a list of these PIDs, Idk where it is. I know there is a list somewhere, but I can't find it.
 
You'll have to forgive me, Hozu, I'm so used to RNG'ing in HG (14 legends say "hello"), and I've never done the journal flipping thing before. Not entirely sure how it works, especially in relation to changing the clock on your DS.

Well, I found a list that has HG/SS spreads... but I can't use that for Platinum can I?

Could someone link me to one please? I can't seem to find one in this thread....

RNG in DPPt is the exact same as HGSS except for advancing the frame and verifying your seed.

All you have to do is save in front of Darkrai and make sure at least one of your journal pages has a message that will advance the frame. Alternatively, you could use Chatot's to advance the frame just like in 5th gen (record a chatter. Then whenever you view its summary the frame advances by 1). This was just recently discovered which is why it's not in any of the guides.

Also, if you were wondering, if you change the date on your DS to 3 days (or maybe 2) after the last time you saved, then the journal will automatically show up when you get into the game. Since you asked about its relation to changing the clock on your DS :P

Edit: Zenotwapal, yeah, those spreads should work for DPPt as well. Just to make sure, use PBox to generate ID/SIDs, paste them into reporter and check to make sure your wanted spreads are in fact shiny. They should be :3

A new day adds a new page. You can go backwards or forwards in time without having to worry about messing up the order of the pages. The only problem comes from changing the time to an earlier one on the same day; that'll erase what you've saved on your journal for that day.

Okay, couple of quick questions about that. Does the volume of the recorded chatter matter/affect the number of frames advanced (ie: can I just record anything)? And will the frame advance if I look at any other mon's summaries? The idea is that I'll be switching back and forth between Chatot and not-Chatot.

Only Chatot's summary will advance it. If you switch between two Chatot's it would also advance by 1 for each, making the process faster.

Well I took the PID of the Spread Group I wanted and inputted it into the Pandora's Box function on the Reporter. I put 5000 and 6000 as min/max delays. I took the first result it gave me for testing purposes and plugged that into the Time Finder. It would not spit out a Flawless Timid Shiny Method J Spread.
so i guess these spreads don;t work on D/P/Pt?

Can you give me a link to the list you're using? HGSS and DPPt have the same possible IV spreads and PIDs, so I think they should work .-.

58ec5867, TIMID, ability: 1, 31/30/29/31/31/31, 50% M/F, Dragon 66, Group 11, 5 spreads in group.

If it helps I want to abuse for Method J spreads on Platinum (legend abuse), Stationary Pokes.
 
I'm not sure what you did wrong, because I found the spread shiny with the ID/SID PB gave me. Maybe you need to increase the max frame? (Hint: If you make your delay search range wider, you can find the exact same shiny PID spread with lower frames. The only downside is that the delay is higher :P)

Why would you have to hit a crazy high frame? Just hit the frame Time Finder tells you too; it's possible that the target frame will be high, but the same is true for frames that require a synchronizer.



That's strange; I just advance to my target frame and it works perfectly :)

I guess my RNG reporter is super old ecause it doesn't mention anything about Cute Charm. Could someone be kind enough to tell me some seeds that are Adamant 31/31/31/x/31/31 Ability 1 Encounter Slot 8? I'm Mimic glitching sweet scent for Cute Charm and/or Synchronize.

Why not just download the new RNG Reporter? :o
