TPCi's unofficial stance on RNGing as a whole is that it is frowned upon.

As I understand it though, they have fairly realistic expectations around knowing that players can and will RNG.

I'd imagine that they have to feel it is preferred to straight up .pkm hacking though.

Would this strategy be any good?

Turn 1: Azelf and Clef come out, Azelf knows taunt and uses Imprision, Clefable uses trick room
Turn 2: Azelf uses explosion, Clefable uses protect
Turn 3: Shuckle comes out, shuckle uses power trick, Clefable uses follow me

Shuckle can now sweep

Maybe it might work but there are a lot of prankster taunters out there so maybe a mental herb on clef. Maybe you should try it on po for a little bit to see how well it does.

I highly advise not doing this. Azelf would then usually go LAST in the Trick Room (as Azelf is naturally fast), and you would be down a Pokemon. If for some odd reason this actually would work, then Amoonguss would come in and use Spore. Being very slow, it would move first in the Trick Room, making one of your Pokemon sent to dreamland. Also, the enemy could just Protect stall.

Keep in mind that Imprison is a condition that is applied to the pokemon that uses it. The effects of Imprison would go away when Azelf faints. This would leave Shuckle & Clefable still open to being Taunted.

Of course, if Azelf's fourth move is Protect, that would make exploding a bit easier, since it would also be Imprisoned.

Yes. Lagging Tail runs on priority, not a speed loss.

This statement is a bit deceiving. Think of Lagging Tail as the reverse Quick Claw: the holder will move last within it's priority bracket, but it's priority does not change. Thus, a pokemon using Quick Attack while holding Lagging Tail will still move ahead of a Pokemon using Thunderbolt. The only thing that can actually change the priority of a move is Prankster.

On the subject of Leech Seed: Leech Seed has some very interesting mechanics in double battles in that it cares about the position of the Leech Seed user. So, for example, if I have tyranitar and ludicolo out and leech seed my opponent's hitmontop, ludicolo is the Pokemon that receives the benefit of Leech Seed. However, if Ludicolo were to switch out, whichever Pokemon that took it's place would receive the benefit of Leech Seed. Not only that, but if Ludicolo (or the Pokemon in it's place) were to faint, no damage would be dealt from Leech Seed that turn (because there would be no target to be healed). The leech seed damage would resume taking place the next turn, if the Pokemon in Ludicolo's place lives. I am unsure of how it works when Ludicolo faints and there is nothing to replace it with (ttar is your last mon, in the example).

The more complicated a strategy is, the harder it is to pull off. That strategy has way too many potential points of failure to be practical.

1) What is the best item to use on
Ferrothorn (offensive and defensive (two seperate pokemon))
-Iron Head
-Power Whip
-Protect
-T-wave

2) Does Brightpowder lower the accuracy of your team-mate? And is using it worth it? What about Double Team w/ or w/o Brightpowder/Sand Veil etc.?

3) If I am playing in Masters, whats up regarding parental supervision and fees?

THANKS :)

Thanks!

The only thing you'll have to worry about relating to fees is the price of gas and maybe a hotel room. As far as the actual event is concerned, you don't have to pay anything.

Brightpowder holders are less likely to be hit by attacks, including those that your partner hits you with. You normally want to dump unreliable things such as BrightPowder for items that are more stable in their usefulness. The attack-boosting gems and the resist-berries are good examples of these stable items. Whether or not something like BrightPowder or Double Team works depends completely on how lucky you are, but with the limited time you have to actually battle in VGC battles, you might want to avoid using moves and items like Double Team and BrightPowder.

If I had a Pokemon that knows Trick Room and Imprison, and it uses Imprison on the same turn that an opponent uses Trick Room, (My Imprisoner goes first) will Trick Room be deactivated?

A simple Close Combat from Sash Terrakion shuts this strategy down.

Hey guys, I'm trying to figure out which Fighting-Type Pokemon to put on the last slot of my VGC team. Can you guys tell which one you think is the best (and why)? If you want to see my VGC team, here's the link!

P.S. I would really appreciate it if you also put in a good set for your Pokemon of choice. Thanks!

well it really depends what you're using it for and it still looks like you've got some things to work on overall, but for what it's worth my favorite of the three is mienshao, but i use her as a lead.

mienshao@focus sash
jolly/inner focus
252atk/252spe/6spedef
-fake out
-wide guard
-taunt
-drain punch

drain punch was my favorite move since it was somewhat easy to restore health to reactivate FS, provided it wasn't used up already. you have to be relatively good at keeping something alive without protect though, if you want it for more than a couple turns.

If I remember correctly, your team already has an FO user, so that takes away a bit from mienshao

I don't know too much about Lucario, but he has a huge movepool and decent stats. His speed falls short of many popular things in the metagame, and he has weaknesses to Ground and Fire without great defenses, so meh.

I guess Breloom would do best. Here's the set I use:

Breloom@Focus Sash
Jolly
6 Hp, 252 Hp, 252 Spd

Seed Bomb
Drain Punch
Spore
Protect
