Pokémon Black 2 and White 2 (DS, June in JP, Fall in EU/NA/AU) - Updated May 12th

After these scans, I can say that I'm actually looking forward to playing the game itself now and not just the Move Tutor/Game Mechanic Changes. (PLEASE give Scald a 10% Burn rate. 16 Fire-types get Lava Plume; 105 Water-types get Scald. What is wrong with this picture?) This is actually looking better than BW, which is really saying something.

I'm getting Black 2 no matter what, even though I'd rather have Zoroark. Looks like I'll just have to trade over a Zorua egg early on.

So yes, I would agree with the statement that THIS 'ice' is just a cover-up. I still think that Eastern Unova is covered in ice though. Just like Cobraroll said, the fake ice could be hiding major changes to east. Isn't billions of liters of frozen water a major change in appearance?

AND the smaller picture of Unova in the middle-right end of the picture actually seems to depict real ice (for what my eyes tell me) covering the (Eastern half of the) region.

If they were going to make the East frozen over, than I would think it would actually look frozen over. This ice looks like it was just paste on top of the map. Not saying I don't like the ideal, I think it's a great ideal, but I don't think the map right is suggesting that.
 
this might be the first pokemon game (besides mystery dungeon) i will avoid spoilers like i do with zelda and similar games

also is it just me or does the water gym leader look like iris? and whats with the hate on the male character, even though i liked bw's male character more, he's still cool!

I love Metagross, but I started with Black I gotta finish the storyline. I guess thats what I have a brother who always gets the other game for, but still I want my wild Metagross ;_;

Personally, I'm loving gen 5 so far, and this looks like a great addition. RSE will always be my favorite out of nostalgia, but as far as actually game content, B/W was pretty solid. I like that gamefreak is shattering some molds that we built for them, shows they at least have some creativity left.

Its actually hard to tell if its actually part of the map. If you look a the smaller map on one page, it really hard to tell if its actually ice. If it isn't, game freak REALLY doesn't want to spoil something...
 
I prefered original black and white's characters, probably just because they were a little more grown up than the new ones.

Glad to see this is 2 years later than the first of the series, hopefully it'll be more of its own game rather than a re-release.
 
It would be cool if Kyurem wasn't the only one getting new forms. I know it's probably not going to happen, but I still hope that castform finally gets his sandstorm form...
 
If Castform ever gets a sandstorm form i hope all the weather forms' stats change to something like 70/70/70/100/100/100, it would make Castform almost usable :O
 
Of course, there's always the possibliity that the region IS covered in ice.
But the playable characters are in shorts/a skirt.

True, but aside from pokemon probably not following real world physics & logic, Lucas and Dawn ran through a blizzard in a wife-beater/skirt. The reason they're dressed like that is probably because the climate of the city they live in is very warm, akin to summer or spring here in reality land.

Ice in the Southwest of Unova? I say again, the "ice sheet" doesn't look very convincing. More like the image itself is frozen over to hide some of the revamped areas. Ice because... Kyurem.

Also, that professor on the right must be using liquid molding plastic as hair gel. I also find it funny that the water gym leader's swimming glasses are too small to cover his eyes.
 
The ice has a thick white border for christs sake.

But due to serebii, pokebeach and everyone else specifically stating as part of the news that unova is freaking frozen over, they're not just spreading misinformation, but disappointment. And every small fansite then posts the same but even exagarates it. lol.

region covered in huge chuncks of ice... even for a pokemon game, that would be silly. If the region was freezing it wouldnt look like glaciers.
 
Well, real ice or not real ice, think we can all agree on the fact that
-It either is REAL ice, which would probable be something really new and cool to explore
OR
-the fake ice is hiding something supposedly very different from how those areas were in BW.

So yeah, either way, there'll be more new and original stuff for us to play.

If these version exclusive pokes are gonna be divided like Tytus said, i'm going for White2, especially because I already have White. And for ONCE in history, I think the female playable character actually looks way better than the guy. I hate the look of him lol
 
The way i see it is that ice on the map looks more like Game Freak is hiding something.

The playable characters are fine to me,but the best thing about this is the possibility of getting a early game Lucario :],also that Akuroma guy is looking really shady.
 
Hahaha what? Zoroark in White and Haxorus in Black? Are they TRYING to give me an aneurysm :(

Oh well, I guess i'll flip a coin or something.

Yeah, I mean they drew up a whole new map. If they were going to make that whole area icy, photoshopping a blob of white over it seems pretty lazy. I'm guessing they're just saving what's over there for later reveals.

Why couldn't they be version exclusives? Zoroark wasn't even in BW, if you didn't have the HGSS event Pokemon. I'm not saying that little image is definitive by any means, just seems to suggest it, with them being on opposing sides to the cover legendaries and all.

And Riolu is numbered 33. That doesn't suggest late-game availability. Metagross's #254 does though, which makes sense if he's still only in the Giant Chasm area.
I'm guessing Lucario and Zoroark are version parallels.

Unless that image goes with the Manga bit, in which case the above is null and void.

Terrakions's Hyper Beam and Kyurem's Flamethrower look quite different. Also, White Kyurem may have been using Ice Burn near the end.

Also, has Terrakion being stealing ideas from a certain Shepard face?

Ever read Keldeo's Pokedex entry?

And the anime hasn't made any move errors in the BW saga except for Tranquil using Wing Attack (and I wasn't aware it couldn't until the erorr itself was pointed out. Besides, if it were a TM/Tutor, it would).
 
I'll enjoy using normal Kyurem in my sun team, assuming White Kyurem goes to ubers, now that it's confirmed that it can use Fire (and most likely Electric) attacks in its base form.

Fire/Ice/Electric/Dragon is wonderful neutral and SE coverage. I can see Kyurem becoming OU after B/W2 are out.
