I hope they put some D/P pokemon in for the pokeballs, I'm not sure weather to be annoyed or happy for the SSBM pokemon to be back. It might just be for their testing purposes though.

A world 1-1 Super Paper Mario stage would be fun although cartoony, those trees are really awesome.

If the past two games are any indication, probably not. The original was RBY only, Melee had only up to GSC, if the pattern continues we'll only be up to RSE Pokemon.

I see no reason not to, the games were out in Japan for months.

I also hope to see Trophy returns, they were interesting and gave a nice replayability option.

I suppose, Ruby/Sapphire did come out in Japan about half-a-year after Brawl did.

I wonder how much of the game they are done with, and if they're still changing the Pokemon around.

I think the general consnsus is that it will probably be banned from tournament play and that it can probably be turned off either in the items menu or from its own seperate switch. This is probably true in my opinion, but its too bad that those cool moves have to go to waste.
Thats the thing I hate about tournament play, always no items, sure you can give me that luck crap and relate it to Evasion and OHKO in Pokemon, but in a game so focused in on items it kind of kills it. Sure they can have 2 tournaments, one with items one without, but I don't ever see that happening because despite tons of people I know being better with items than without, the tournament scene is filled with those purists who don't want items.

Zero Suit Samus doesn't really count IMO (Sorta like Sheik or whatever it's called).
No body knows what ZSS is going to be like, while Ridley will be cool, Metroid isn't very ripe with characters that are noticable and can actually fight per say in this game, either they are super minor characters or just don't fit into a game like this.

I don't recall Captain Falcon using any of those fancy specials in F-Zero.
I also don't recall Captain Falcon ever getting out of his ship, thus they have some creative freedom with the character, but with someone like Kirby, Mario, and other platforming/adventure characters they have something to build off of, but still remain 100% loyal to the character. Falcon had to be built from scratch and even then he just punches and kicks, like you expect any normal human being to do.

I'm pretty sure they said somewhere that the original cast was returning, no matter who or what
I'll bet against you, the roster was already large, but also filled with gimmicks, Pichu for one will not be staying, Young Link might make way for another Zelda character, just 2 right there, and I'm sure there will be more to go.

Melee came out in 2001, Ruby came out in 2003, the argument is moot, the games didn't exist yet to be a part of Melee, Diamond however has been out for some time and I'm sure they worked together on creating a good character from Diamond. That said I expect some changes to the Pokemon roster. Pikachu is the only sure-fire keeper, I can imagine Mewtwo, Jigglypuff, and Pichu departing for a better GSC Pokemon, a new RS Pokemon and a new D/P Pokemon. Lucario is a major player in the D/P race as he was one of the first revealed and has the ability to make a grea B moveset. RS could be either Blaziken or Deoxys as those have been popular choices, GSC is the toughest and might be skipped altogether.

I don't have my heart set on any characters I would like to see but there are a few I would like to see, Olimar is oen that comes to mind.

He reflects the opponent, they hit groudon and bounce back to fox, fox reflects the opponent etc.

OH! So that's what you meant. That strategy is kind of bad. So far, I have only seen it work against very bad players. You can easily throw the pokeball at your own feet (push joystick down + A button to throw the ball) to make sure fox can't reflect it.

Items are banned at tournaments for a reason. At least, in my perspective, certain items. Items like stars, random bomb-om droppings. But I have no problem with items such as light-sabers, or whatever they're called.

Technically he does. >_> In F-zero GX, there are of scenes of where Captain Falcon is not inside the Blue Falcon.

I'd love to see a Golden Sun character in it, not only as they have some great moves with Psynergy, but it would also imply it isn't a dead franchise and that they are planning a GS3 hehe

Oooh! I love this game! I hope they add:

Daisy. They have Mario and Luigi and Peach is missing her partner!)
Waluigi. Wario needs his partner, too.
Gerudo girl. Yay she's so pretty.
Gardevoir. Sooo pretty.

Um that's not how it works....
1.Send out groudon
2. Use shine to knock them to groudon
3. they fly back at you and you keep hitting them back, shine works best cause it's the fastest attack in the game, or else they may fly away
4. ???
5. Profit

Anyways, most likely they will keep L-canceling, as it was on their official site before. Who knows? They may even mention it in the blog!

That's one of my favorite RPG's. I'd imagine if they were going to add any GS characters Issac would be high on the list, as well as Felix, playing as Alex would be fun.

I would love to see Mewtwo replaced with Gengar. Here are my personal ideas for Gengar's moveset, if he's a character.

^B - A variation of Giratina's Shadow Force. Basically, Gengar would disappear and reappear, as in Mewtwo's ^B. However, it would deal damage to the foe right where you landed, even if their shield is up. As its downside, it is not as quick as Mewtwo's ^B and would probably not be used as an Escapist move.

</>B - Shadow Ball. Holding it down charges it up into a larger Shadow Ball that then launches itself forward a bit and deals more damage the bigger the ball.

vB - Shadow Punch. Gengar would disappear and reappear behind the closest foe within a short distance. A punch is then thrown which is very difficult to dodge due to this attack's speed. This move would be great for not only an Escapist move but also to turn such negative tides to your favor. This move has a cooldown timer for it specifically. Other moves may be used immediately and Gengar can move immediately, but this attack cannot be used for 1.5 seconds.

B - Shadow Claw. Similar to Bowser's Claw-Move-Thingy.

!B! - An instant attack that works like Darkrai's Dark Void. All foes surrounding Gengar or in reasonable proximity are instantaneously asleep and for a longer time than usual, allowing Gengar to attack them.

OPTIONAL vB
**********

vB - Gengar slips off into the shadows, becoming a shadow on the ground of the playing field. Gengar is now almost impossible to see and is impervious to any attack except those aimed straight down at it. vB will bring Gengar back into the Third Dimension. While a shadow, Gengar cannot perform any action besides move and reenter this dimension. Gengar cannot even jump. However, Gengar can fall. Becoming a shadow is instantaneous and has no cooldown time, however, reentering into this dimension takes about 1.5 seconds of pure immobility of Gengar as it fades into this dimension.

Techinically they already had daisy. If you changed peach's appearance in SSBM she would look exactly like daisy.

Waluigi might be a good asset but I haven't heard/seen any news about him.

They WILL NOT ADD GARDEVIOR! Out of all the random pokemon. HELLO! THEY PICK WELL KNOWN POKEMON! Everyone has seen Pikachu on pokemon merchandise at the mall. Gardevior is not known by 95% of the non-pokemon fanbase.

Even the people that write "pokemon is evil" know about Pikachu. Mewtwo got a free ride for being a legendary and Pichu for being a Pikachu copy.

Gardevior will not be added.

Deoxys might have potential. He could have a form-changing ability like Zelda. Although do we really need another humanoid Pokemon in Smash? Mewtwo sucked in Melee, they need to work on making him better first.

He had terrible traction, weak finishers, and his voice sucked. He had some potential, I suppose, but he was nowhere near the likes of Marth or Fox.

I could see B-Down cycling through all of his forms (normal, offense, defense, speed), it sure would make for an interesting and unpredictable character.

Although the randomness factor might have more effect as a Pokeball summon, Deoxys would come out, but you wouldn't know his form at first, then he would transform and attack accordingly.

Didn't Luigi also have very poor traction? I remember it being like a slip-n-slide with him. I would stop running but he would slide another few feet. He seemed resistant to friction.

Also I dont remember kirby having that much of an "amazing" finisher. But he didn't seem to suck.

He can be a decent player since he is fast, and hard to hit. His attacks also do some decent damage.

Even the best Mewtwo players in the world gave up on him. That's how bad Mewtwo is. :/
