I didn't reply before posting it, but I followed these cents of yours and changed his speech bubble to a more challenging tone. The NPC says "Wanna battle?", but shouldn't he say something that emphasizes that the battle is forced (and that there's no quitting)?
So many artists, no matter how good, struggle with humor, cleverness, or anything else that requires brainpower.
On the other hand, there are tons of people in the world with all kinds of wonderful ideas with no way of portraying them.
You're an extremely rare combination of both. This thread is a goldmine of smiles.
It's my number one answer to all those 'if you could have any superpower' questions. The most handiest.Suddenly, Teleport becomes the most efficient means of travel.
I know of this too and I'll expect a handful of people to call me out on it, even though I just picked a pokémon which is beneficial to leave in the daycare. I suppose I could just as easily replace it with something else, but now I'm too attached to the puns I've made!Oh, i didn't see that coming. I thought since it was a Shuckle that it would be, you know, the guy that lends you his Shuckle.
Or to replace the Shuckle (I chose Swinub). I wanted to postpone the daycare realisation to the very last panel, so putting a lady as the mafiaboss could have given things away more quickly. What I think should be done is to replace the dude in the suit with the daycare lady, if you want to allay confusion over whether it's the shuckle-lending man or not. An alternative would be to make the trainer look more like a non-johto player character.
I've been linked to this twice from others as well! I wasn't aware that people had seen the mafia connection before, but I've yet to see someone who made a comic about it before me."If you want to see your bug again" gave it away for me because the title reminded me of

The setting. I can notice abnormal or weird stuff in the games all the time, but simply turning the spotlight to them and pointing fingers doesn't really make for an ellaborate comic strip. So if I want to use an idea, I need to make a situation or a dialogue where, hopefully, the reader will not only get the punchline, but also notice the absurdness by themselves. What is the most difficult thing about coming up with new comics?
Depends on how much effort I put into them, number of panels and what styles I use. So on average, I guess it could be anywhere between 5 and 10 hours. But since I work on my computer, it means my attention can easily be divided, so there's that. How long does it take you to make each comic on average?
I figured later that this answer doesn't really cover all the kinds of strips I make, as some might be nothing but examples. So a better word instead of 'setting' would have to be approach. How to ellaborate on the subject, what to show to prove my point, or just overall how to tackle the idea where the end result is creative, unpredicted and funny. I need to decide on this before I start working on it, which is why I have several ideas put on ice simply because I'm unsure about what to do with them. The setting. The satisfaction of being able to draw them out so that they closely match the idea I have in my head. This wasn't always the case in the beginning, but even then I did feel proud of what I could accomplish with the tools at hand. I usually have a point in the progress where I don't feel confident with how it looks at that time, but as I keep working, that insecurity gradually changes into content. What is your favorite part about drawing comics in general?
Changed it to campus grounds, thanks.consider using 'college campuses' instead of 'school grounds', since school grounds implies primary and secondary education, not the tertiary that frat boys attend
and just from the dialogue, the hipster seems pretty similar to the pokemaniacs
