If he shows up, I really am hoping it's not in just a general sort of "hey here he is, cameo/fan service for everyone" type of role; it would be cool to see Zuko in a more active role, even if he's a retired firelord. I mean, if Bumi and the other old people can kick ass, no reason Zuko still can't right? As as Korra still hasn't "truly" mastered firebending, he could always give more instruction in that to her and Mako. Not about the Avatar state but...
I think that man in the flashbacks that was fighting Aang was Amon. His face seemed a bit torn up but it didn't look anything like Zuko's scar. Speaking of Zuko, I'm hoping Zuko shows up soon!
I had the same suspicions at first, and it's still somewhat likely that he's working with the Equalists, but the theory that Tarrlok is Amon was kind of shot down when we see the council make the decision not to cancel the championship, and then see the Lieutenant pass the information on to Amon in the next scene. Amon's reaction was hardly surprised, but it implied that he didn't know that beforehand, while if he was Tarrlok he would have already known.I have a suspicion that Tarrlok may be somewhat related to the equalists or possibly even amon himself. Given their shady methods of persuasion, never appearing together on the same scene, the rather...loss/loss situation for the pro-bending arena (idk it's hard to describe), and Korra's abrupt waterbending stop during her chase to the airship...well who knows. It's too early to tell.
Shinryu said:It's also funny, the whole "oh metal blocking armor protects us from chi attacks" thing gets fucked up by lightning rods/gloves...you'd seriously think they would've been planning for that as well, I mean the equalists aren't unknown in NRC, so why it caught them so badly off guard kinda leads me to think they're dumb. And as metal benders, they still should've had access to earthbending to ward off those attacks too. Personally I think we could use some more traditional earth bending over the lame disc throwing, even metalbending being used to slap around wires and such is kinda eh.
ZOMG ZUKO!!1!!! big image ensues
recently released screens of new episodes. Not even sure if its real, but it seems legit heres the link

oops, my bad :x
btw, the rumors about this saturday being a double episode are false. the guy who directs the martial arts and videography for LoK has a tumblr and answers questions pretty frequently. i asked him if it would be 2 episodes and he said it's definitely just 1 :(
and he just posted that the week after there will be no new episode because of memorial day weekend, which doesn't make that much sense to me but okay
Agreed. I've got a tumblr and Konietzko along with Sifu Kisu post the best things - they're in touch with the social network and they know how much these "shipping wars" are SCREWING with what is, let's face it, the worst shipping fandom of all time.Speaking of this, I think it's really cool how Konietzko and some of the other avatar staff use tumblr and seem to have a pretty good idea of where their fanbase stands; they could possibly even use it to shape LoK. I mean, the whole Makorra/Borra thing is blatantly messing with the shippers out there. Overall, I think the fact that the producers are connected with the fans can only mean good things for LoK.
Dunno why we're talking about Azula vs Korra, but considering Korra has access to waterbending, I'd give her the edge. In a pure agni-kai style fight, probably go with Azula since even unhinged she was doing a decent job vs Zuko and likely has firebending far more mastered than the recently mastered Korra.I just rewatched a few episodes in Airbender series. as powerful as Korra is, I doubt she could win against Azula, but that's just my opinion.
so there won't be a new episode on Memorial Day weekend? bummer.
So? That really isn't very indicative of mastery considering the Avatar is supposed to bend all 4 elements, we don't really know what age kids in avatar world start bending elements after all. She's not the "recently mastered" Korra; in the veeery first episode, she firebends, earthbends, and waterbends.
In any case, it's pretty likely that she would lose - every bender in ATLA seems (for lack of a better term) OP compared to those of Republic City.
Well, keep in mind that we're still relatively early into the first season of Korra, while we've seen 3 full seasons of TLA. I'm sure the bending in Korra will get more impressive as the series goes on. Look at the first season of TLA and compare it to the last season, and you'll see my point.
One thing that has surprised me is that bending lightning seems to be pretty common now. I can understand metalbending, since Toph went around teaching it to people, but isn't lightningbending supposed to be a rare ability?
