Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

Awesome, thanks!

Edit: One more thing: I have been trying to RNG for a shiny egg, but I keep missing my delay. I then try to find what I actually did hit using the "Search Elm" function, but it always say that no match was found. What could be the problem?

1. Is the data enter in the eontimer match whats in the rngreporter?
2. Is the adjacent result to show +-99 and -+2 seconds?
3. Do you have any roaming pokemon?
4. Have you done all the qualification to use elm calls?
i.e
a Receive togepi or something like that
b Beat the e4 and went to Kanto
c Had a pokemon with the pokerus in the game
5. Is your ds date and time correct( ie min off by what eontimer says)?
6. Is all your information in the rngreporter for hgss correct?
7. Are you quickly entering the pokegear?

I know this sound like Im being condescending but thing like that happens to me alot.

Question: I'm trying to get into the whole RNG thing, but I can't manage to find my parameters. I've followed the steps in the manipulation guide on the main site, but whenever I search for the parameters, nothing turns up. I've checked to make sure the MAC address is correct, I've tried multiple times to ensure I get the time correct, and given that I'm using their calculator, I don't think I'm messing up on the IV's. Any suggestions? (I'm using RNG Reporter 9.95)

What game are you doing this on? If it's for Black/White, you should ask in the 5th gen help thread, and if it's for a 4th gen game you don't need to find parameters.

When I click search elm and choose the results I got. Rng reporter highlights a frame, where the calls don't match up at all. I think the maker(s) programmed that on purpose, but why? Is there multiple sets of calls you can get that pertain to the same seed, just that one set is far more common, that it's the only result mentioned?

Edit: Ok maybe that match up some, but not exactly. Like this one I just did has an extra call or two at the begging. I'm not writing down the calls, so I'm just going by memory.

Edit1: I just learned something new about rng abuse unrelated to what I posted above. In HGSS shiny breeding, you don't have to make sure the parents are already in the day care. (Though it does help for lowering the chance of getting PokéGear calls.)

Do you have roamers active, or are you in an area with NPCs? Those will put extra calls before where you start since you won't be starting on frame 1.

When RNGing for Snorlax in HGSS, by how much does the pokeflute channel increase your frame? Can this be avoided by simply having the radio tuned to the channel before your last save?

The Pokemon Music radio station advances the frame by 1, or by none, so you should be able to figure out what frame you start on rather easily with the help of Elm/Irwin. Saving with the radio station already one will not avoid the advancement (I'm pretty sure) but 1 frame won't make a significant difference.

I haven't been RNGing for a while so I have a one question:

Has anyone found a method to make your DPP game always hit odd or even delay with 100% accuracy? I remember that I did had this problem over a year ago and I wonder if people have discovered any solution so far.

My target delay is at 7013 and I'm hitting only 7012 and 7014. I tried to use Emerald and Ruby carts on 2nd slot but it works like 10% of the time. It looks like the delay is odd for the 1st reset but during the next reset it's even again.

Whoever helps me with this will get the poké I'm rng'ing for free and can have redis rights for it (Shiny Bold Cresselia 31/16/31/31/31/31). =)

// Nvm I figured it out. : D I changed year from 2012 to 2013 and that did change my target delay from odd to even.

im afraid that's just how dppt works. In hgss i've been told that you can simply go down then up at the main screen to change your delay from odd to even. In flashcarts though, (while the gba cart is inserted) what i'm relying on to change my delay from even to odd and vice versa is to set the date, hitting confirm, then set the time and the timer simultaneously. I then insert my ds flashcart, after the click i remove then insert my gba cart. I don't know why i have to go through all this, but i seem to get consistent results.

edit: glad there is something that works for you. :)

I didn't know about that menu thing in hgss. :o The game cart trick always worked for me in soul silver. I have to try that some time just out of curiousity.

This sounds interesting, I'll give it a try for sure next time I'm having problems with delay (I can guarantee that, I'm going to catch Girantina next). Too bad this trick can't be used for B/W games tho. I find V Gen games even more unstabile than DPP when it comes to delays.

Ty from advice. :) You can vm me when you want your Cresselia and if you want it to be nicknamed/special moves etc. I'm going to catch Giratina 1st tho.

no problem. :) I hope they work for you, if all else fails, at least the calendar works. 8)

So I've been out of the RNG loop for quite. I have a very noobish question despite RNGing like a machine like 5 months ago. I've been searching for some nice spreads for HG abuse on PokeRNG and found it's twin on the High IV Shiny Spreads Excel Sheet. Does the twin spread use the same seed as the seed I picked? If not, then how would I know the seed for that twin? Help would be very appreciated.

What I found in PokeRNG:

PID 0874E131 Adamant Ability 1 31/31/31/6/30/31 Seed 29041CFC Delay:7409 Method 1 75 Method K (Synch) 38 Method K (No Synch) NONE ]

I believe it's twin is Impish according to the Excel Sheet?

i just made a search of that in the HighIVShinySpreadGroups excel file, and yeah you're right, its the group number and the #of spreads in group that tells you which spreads are in the same group, which in fact adjacent to the adamant is an impish spread. IIRC, this means that you get to abuse both spreads in your game. So a #spreads in group that is equal to 4 means there are 4 spreads that you get to abuse in game. hope this helps.

I'm trying to hit a delay that's in the 4,000s and I havent been seing much success in terms of hitting a seed that falls within the second I'm aiming for, my Elm calls say I'm only hitting the seconds around it. Are higher delays supposed to be harder to hit? I'm also going for Snorlax in HGSS if that means anything.

As long as you're using a good timer, all delays are equally easy to hit (unless it's so long that you get distracted doing something else and forget to come back to it in time, which I'm assuming isn't your problem). It might be giving you a false positive - if you've done other 4th gen RNGs, then I'd set it to +/-0 seconds, because it's really unlikely you're a full second off unless your reflexes are really bad.

I appreciate the checkup, which puts me at rest, but I want to know what the seed for the Impish spread is. I can't find it.

The seed for the Impish spread will be different than the Adamant spread, and if it's a real spread then you should be able to find it with PokeRNG or RNG Reporter if you enter the correct search criteria (btw, the newer RNG Reporter now searches for 4th gen seeds faster than PokeRNG does, so PokeRNG is no longer needed).

I might be getting a copy of Emerald soon, so a couple of questions in preparation for that.

1) Assuming I have a wall adapter, so the battery issue is irrelevant, is it easier to RNG on a DS or GBA?
2) Is there any kind of guide to SID abuse (on an emulator)? Google didn't turn up anything useful.

I found a Jolly method 2 spread that I want to use in Emerald, I wanted to know the encounter slots so I put all the required information into the main window of RNG Reporter with Method h-2 selected and with a Jolly synch (I made sure the starting frame option was lower than the frame I wanted) and it came back with no results. Does anyone know why it would do that?

I found the spread with the Emerald/3rd gen version of PokeRNG. The spread: 62506751F d952c1b5 (JOLLY, ability 1) 31/31/30/10/31/31 (Seed: 00000000 Frame: 62506751) HP GRASS 70

That spread doesn't exist in the wild unfortunately.
