Pokemon.com's Pokemon Power Bracket: Mew wins!

Ok, so yes it looks like Rayquaza is probably going to win (Though Mewtwo gave it a good fight).

But that doesn't mean it's rigged. It doesn't mean the last one was rigged. Remember that the main group of people that vote on this aren't competitive players; they're young boys. With the DW release vote, Arcues won because prior to that event the vast majority of players did not have access to legitimate Arceus, so of course the Pokemon that most kids probably didn't even know HAD been released would win. Of course they wouldn't vote for Ditto, they didn't appreciate the importance of its DW ability. It meant nothing to the vast majority of people voting.

With this one, there's no promise of a special release of the Pokemon, so it's going to go based on popularity. Guess which of those Pokemon shown looks the most badass to a bunch of stupid young boys? OMG BADASS GREEN DRAGON I SAW IT IN BRAWL IT IS SO COOOOOL DERP DERP DERP.

Don't blame Nintendo, blame the uneducated fanbase. I think we here have a tendancy to assume that if everyone is voting for a Pokemon here it should win. But I think we overestimate our presence. We're no more than 50-100 people voting (even spam voting) versus thousands of people with no concept of competitive play. We're always going to get outvoted, plain and simple.

We should convince players to vote for mew in this final vote. Since neither pokemon have any spectacular dream world abilities getting released, we might as well go with the one that is harder to access. The only way to legitimately get a mew is by buying some stupid "my pokemon ranch" game, or by event. Rayquaza can be obtained from all three gen III games, as well as the hidden tower in hg/ss.

P.S. I think they should have ditched phione, and added in the option of having a BW event legendary.

DARKRAI LOST WHY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And how could mew ever beat rayquaza
Nvm mews winning

Case in point.

You are all going to be very disappointed when we don't get a Pokemon out of this
Much less one with a new move

So, wanna discuss possible movesets?

Rayquaza:

V-Create - Japan event basis.

Bolt Strike and Blue Flare - Mascot sigs.

Probable set: V-Create, Outrage, Bolt Strike, Blue Flare

I don't think Ray will win anyways. More on that later.

Mew:

V-Create - Powerful, event-only move.

Kyurem sigs - Hype for BW2.

Victini set w/ Psystrike/Psyshock/Psychic over Searing Shot and/or V-Create - Event pixies with STABs and mascot sigs.

Psystrike standalone - Clone's sig.

Scared Fire - Close to V-Create.

Probable set: Sacred Fire/V-Create, Fusion Bolt+Flare, Psystrike

Anyways, I think this contest is rigged towards Mew. It jumped from 52% to 57% fairly quickly.

It went from 57, scaled down to 52, then back up to 57

not everything is rigged, you guys
especially when there's a not-reward on the line

Weren't you one of the 'young boys' into Pokemon at one point?
Guess what man, if these young kids weren't continuing to get involved in Pokemon the whole thing would die a death. Things don't continue if they can't keep attracting young fans. You're more than entitled to your own opinion, of course, but chill the hell out man and drop the bitterness towards a group of people contributing a great deal of time and money to help Pokemon stay as huge as it is.

Sure, they may not know as much as us more 'mature' Pokemon gamers but when I bought Pokemon Blue for Gameboy Colour - I knew f*** all too.

So, Mew won the power bracket. Apparently the 'Digital Prize Pack' will available for everyone to download on September 6th. There is also an accompanying banner which states "Digital Rewards Will Be Available September 6th!" No idea what it will include, but it does say they do the 'special homepage takeover' on the same day.

I was expecting Rayqyaza to beat Mew since it beat Mewtwo. I'm glad Mew won... it will be easier to RNG it (nature and IVs) in the Entralink in B/W than via the WonderCard in 4th gen. I still would have preferred one of the Pokémon with an unreleased DW ability (especially Zapdos), but an event Pokémon is the next best thing (though I would have preferred Celebi or Deoxys). Hopefully Mew does come with some special moves like Psystrike and/or V-Create.

Problem: you're assuming that this means Mew is going to get a special release because of this.

I still maintain that it is not. The only prizes for this is stuff is crap like screen-savers and BS. I never understood why anyone ever thought there WOULD be a release, since it wasn't even hinted at. Mew isn't going to get anything new from this, mark my words.
