okay so in case any of you didn't know, TEMPLE RUN NUMBER FUCKING TWO came out recently. I downloaded it a couple days ago and have been playing it non-stop, I will post a full write-up on my thoughts after some responses

Why is this a thread?

Seriously, this is barely a game, along with most mobile apps. And that's coming from someone who buys way too many apps for his iPhone.
 
So far my high score is 4.7 million after a couple of days of playing. I like the many new features in the powerups and abilities section, but like most people, I dislike the tunnel area where you are in a cart and have to tilt quickly.
 
I BOUGHT TEMPLE RUN TWO AND IT WORKED PERFECTLY FINE FOR A COUPLE DAYS BUT THEN IT STARTED LAGGING SUPER BAD :(

but while i could still play it normally it was awesomesauce, i got like 7 mil and level 8
 
my high score is JUST under 18 million so... I have no life

I like this version so much more than the first, even though its still pretty glitchy (one time I kept riding in a mine cart after I'd left the mine. I could turn by tilting the phone, but then died because I couldn't jump?).
 
Just shy of 7 million ;-;

I have my multiplier at 50 I currently have 3 difficult achievements that I need to complete. It's the 10 million one, the 1,000,000 life time meters, and 5,000,000 life time coins. The game feels a bit easier than the last one considering you can save yourself multiple times with gems. It is a bit laggy on my iPhone and I ran(lol) into some minor glitches that have made me lose ;-;
 
Temple run two is pretty fun bit wtf is with the minecart bits it's actually so hard and 99% of the times I die is when I'm in a minecart.

Also the monkey thing is ugly as fuck
 
temple run 2 is my shit, damn I had broken my addiction to TR1 and now this happens :( and I like the mine cart a lot... never really had any glitches (though one time I was running and my score did not go up at all that was interesting). I think the lifetime meter achievements are stupid though
 
My overall impressions:

The scenery is amazing. Completely outdoes the first TR, it's gorgeous to look at. When I first got the game, I found myself dying because I was looking at things all over the screen instead of what I was doing. I also love how the roads aren't just straight anymore, they twist and turn and go up and down. Love the new physics when you jump on an incline/decline.

The powerups are cool, I'm disappointed that you can only upgrade things and not turn them off once they're bought out. Achievements are great at first but I'm with Jimbo, the lifetime coin/meters achievements are super annoying to get and now I'm basically stuck at level 8 for a couple weeks.

Last: the glitching is super goddamn annoying. It's a huge downfall of a game to die because the scenery skips or whatever is happening. I'd say about half of my deaths are due to the game skipping/glitching rather than my own human error. I really hope they get this fixed asap, it detracts from the overall enjoyment of the game (though I like the Save Me gem procedure).

Current high score is 6.5 million, but that's only because I dislike spending more than a few gems per run. Once they start asking me for 6-7 gems to keep playing, I just start a new run.


EDIT: 12,321 posts. Palindromic post count. Probably my greatest Smogon achievement.

I mean, look at those half acre gigantic houses

Compared to BCounty, where I used to live, half an acre is like half the town lol


Anyway, Temple Run is a great game when it first came out, I guess it's sort of 'bland' now, since much of what you can do with the game has been done, and version two brought literally nothing new other than better graphics and that Cart thingamajig that I always piss my pants for

The kids in my school have started playing 'Subway Surfers', it's pretty much the same thing but there's always a lot of laughs at the lunch table about the fat cop who can run for hours on end and not get hit by a train

Seriously, if you like Temple Run, get Subway Surfers too

I find the deaths by glitching to be rather annoying at times, but it's still a fun game. I still find myself playing Jetpack Joyride and Hill Climb Racing more, though.

those three new cars right when i maxed the four old ones was a low blow
 
I've never been a huge fan of "never-ending" games like this, so Temple Run isn't really my thing.

Which means I also don't really like Tetris or Pac-Man or blahbity blah.
 
i'm on like 2 million, my eyes always die like halfway and i just cant stare at my phone forever.

graphics are AMAZE but
 
They fixed the glitch you guys, now you get an achievement for trying to use it though. On my old iPod I had every single achievement unlocked (bar one), and then my iPod broke and I had to get a new one, so while I still have all the achievements I had unlocked, I lost all the characters and my games played/distance/etc was all reset. I think my longest run was around 15000 meters, and I can't remember the actual score.

Edit: THis is all the original game, btw, I haven't played the new one much since i got bored of the old one.
