Omastar for me too. It's just something about its entire appearance that makes it so cool.

Kabutops might be cool with the schytes and all, until you start thinking about how it would work in action. The blades aren't very practically hinged for slashing, and look far too heavy to be used effectively with those tiny arms. It also needs an enormous free radius to swing the blade-like arms.

Omastar, on the other hand... it's slow, especially on land. It is only threatening from the front. However, I can imagine it pivoting quickly around to always face the enemy. And dish out pain. Lots of pain. That mouth is like the endpiece of some powerful cannon, always ready to spring open and unleash a tremendous jet of water. Its spikes are like rockets, mounted ready to fire, regrow instantly, and fire again. The eyes... they see you. And the arms dance and wiggle while it battles. What's not to like about Omastar?

Personally, I prefer Kabutops; Omastar has always scared me with those eyes and strange beak. Kabutops, on the other hand, is awesome because of its scythes and I've always liked the shape of its head for some reason, it looks like a shield. I guess the feet could have been better, but on the whole, I like it a lot better then Omastar.

Hispter Kabutops, wanna be Scyther millions of years ago before it was cool :p.

While Omastar is too busy being a gay DDR player :D

By the way, Scyther rocks

Kabutops

Not that Omastar sucks or anything, it's just that Kabutops is more awesome. Besides, it's one of the factors that gave rise to Aldaron's Proposal.

Omastar.
As a kid I was always a weird one for always picking the Helix fossil over the popular Dome fossil in Mt. Moon. But for me, shells beat scythes any day!

Omastar, no question. It's unique by being one of the only specially based rock types in the game instead of the tired old physically inclined rockers like Kabutops. Better design by far as well, his counterpart just looks goofy and weird.

Kabutops' arms have literally the same construction as a praying mantis'. So, I'd imagine it would strike and slash in a fashion similar to a mantis (not like a sword).

That said, it is kind of weird now that you mention it since it has blades instead of spines/spikes (like a mantis). Rather than, "how does it kill?", the bigger question would be, "how does it eat?" With blades on those arms (can't clasp) eating doesn't sound like an easy or efficient task.

Kabutops. Omastar does not look as cool as Kabutops. Basically, it's a scythe-wielding, amphibious, prehistoric monster. Omastar is a shelled, aquatic, prehistoric dancing octopus.

Kabutops wins.

It's stated in a few of its Pokedex entries that it just cuts its prey up and then sucks out the fluids. I guess it doesn't technically "eat" at all, it might survive purely on liquids somehow.

Have you ever been the person who doesn't know how to use chopsticks so you just end up awkwardly using both hands or stabbing the food? I imagine it looks something like that.
