"Given that Brees led the league in yardage and touchdowns thrown, this plummet down the rankings must be viewed as something of a disappointment. We all know he’s capable, and there were games where he flashed the kind of talent that saw him finish third last year. But too many costly picks meant he was nowhere near that spot this year, as the Saints and their quarterback struggled to deal with the consequences of “BountyGate”."

Fun fact I just learned just now: Tony Romo and Drew Brees lead the league in interceptions tossed this season.

If anything they appear to be more biased toward Houston or Denver, ranking JJ Watt as the top player in the league (I can live with that) and Andre Johnson as the top WR in the league (sorry this isn't 2009 y'all).

Also, even as a Steelers fan, I could never rank Ben above Brees. Brees' high number of picks were the result of him having to put the team on his back every damn game because they had ZERO running game. Pittsburgh didn't have a great running game either but it was enough of one to take pressure off the QB.

Pro Football Focus is from England, how can you possibly call them hom- Oh right because YOU'RE the butthurt Washington homer offended by RGIII not being listed higher.

I could be nuts, but perhaps they rate thplayers high because they're rather fucking good.

Oh. I forgot it is absolutely impossible to be a homer if you aren't from the same city as the team. I'm not butthurt at all. The good thing about holding the position I do on the Luck/RG3/Wilson debate is all I have to do is wait and eventually the stats will speak for themselves. I called them homers because they made it obvious last year. Going into the playoffs they were talking about Seattle like they were an unstoppable juggernaut and then RG3 marched down the field on them on the first two drives on one leg. Russell Wilson looked absolutely beffudled on offense until their defense started getting him the ball right back because RG3's mangled knee finally gave out. They oversold the Hawks. They were very clearly sixth seed material and PFF had them as the best team in the entire league.

Did someone say quarterback rating?!?! Will edit my post with my yearly qb rating for the upcoming season if mods say its okay (hint: ponder is #32) (jk but he's definitely somewhere in the 20s)

For a moment there you literally convinced me that the Redskins beat the Seahawks in Washington, and that I would have some work to do to explain why the Seahawks weren't overrated...

But then I remembered that the fucking Seahawks won by 10, holding the Redskins to 0 points in all 3 quarters following the first and 202 total yards of Offense. I remembered that they went to Atlanta after that and lost to the Falcons, not making the NFC championship, in literally the last 30 seconds of the game. I also remembered PFF did not have the Seahawks as the best team in Football, they had the 49ers, Patriots, and Broncos as the far and away top dogs. And even then I remembered PFF isn't in the business of rating teams, but rating individual players, and the "highest rated teams" are really just raw aggregates of the players that they have, and nothing else (A team with 5 very good players and average everywhere else is not a good team, but will be rated highly by the nature fo PFF's individual bias to the rating).

And news flash for you: Putting him higher in the top 101 of 2012 means they think he was better in 2012 (Which you honestly could've picked either Russell Wilson or RGIII and had a solid argument for why they were better). The good thing about PFF's position is they're looking with hindsight, they aren't trying to predict who is ultimately going to be better, just who they think was better this season. They also don't look at "Who is better head to head" as meaning anything significant in the long run ("RGIII on one leg was beating the Seattle Defense for one quarter, clearly they aren't as good as everyone thinks because of this one quarter").

PLEASE NOTE: I'm not even necessarily saying that I agree with PFF that Russell Wilson was better than RGIII so I won't get into this "Which is better debate", I'm disagreeing with you saying that the Seahawks were vastly overrated by PFF because they're "homers".

The entire goal of PFF is to be as unbiased as possible. They make all their evaluations on statistics only... The only time bias comes into play is rating offensive-lineman who don't have any real stat for their performance in the run game.

clearly they are Seattle fanboys / possibly paid by super computer billionaire Paul Allen??? just to invent formulas specifically to overrate Seattle

IS THIS THE NFL VERSION OF ILLUMINATI CAN WE STOP YET

gee no shit that just a simple "on paper" system cannot definitely tell you who the best is, scheduling and playstyle change too much (I mean two fairly worse than all the elite dude quarterbacks just won the last two postseasons based on throwing long balls, since recently defending the last 20 yards has been far and away the only important way to play in the NFL....after a decade of things like efficient, take 5 yards at a time all up and down the field drives winning postseasons, it is not completely shocking that some amount of change took place!!)

(and if this keeps up then someone damn well better start not punting past midfield, it fits so well grrrrrrrr)

I have no problem with RW being rated higher by PFF, with the caveat that RGIII missed a game and was between 25% and 75% the rest of the games. PFF doesn't rate "who's better" in a subjective sense, it rates who accumulated a better score in their system and RW was healthy all season and RGIII was not, therefore his performances suffered. They don't adjust for things like "context" (for example they ignore position value), so they won't say "RGIII would have better if not for the injury".

I don't think PFF are Seahawks homers at all, the Seahawks are just a very good team whose record is depressed by playing in the NFC W(B)est.

If you want to talk about "who is actually better" it's probably RGIII. Better arm, faster, more accurate (though not by much). And I'm not worried about the injury in the long run, ACL injuries (and he didn't wreck his ACL the way AP did) just aren't a super career killing big deal anymore (and don't bring up Rose, he's just a pussy, and he plays a different sport).

PFF is extremely flawed(tbh as much as any other system trying to put random numbers on something with a lot of parts), if they were right with their grades the Eggs should have been winning 13 games per season MINIMUM. But again, almost ALL who know football overrate the Eggs so i don't hold it against them.

2011 Eli was the best season by a QB ever. All i care about.

Your homerism has been taken to new heights.

Titus Young arrested twice in a 15 hour span. Once for suspicion of DUI and again for trying to steal his car back from the towing yard.

L.O.L

PFF had the Eagles aggregate at 7th worst offense in the league and 10th worst defense in 2012.

Then again, baseless assumptions and factually incorrect information is your M.O. so I'm not even surprised anymore by this shit.

Please read my post again. Then get back to me.

Hehe who am I kiddin I get butterflies in my stomach when I talk with you so its fun explaining myself. I said "should have been WINNING". Past tense. Also it makes it pretty clear I am talking about several, not just 1 season. I was talking about anytime before 2012. All those seasons prior to 2012.

And yes you too overrated them. But like I said before everyone did so you shouldn't feel too bad about. 'Cept me of course, cuz i watch the games.

Also, i'm loving your new aggressiveness towards me. I need it nastier! Yes please!

ESPN keeps deleting my comments so I'm gonna post them here:

If Titus Young was on GTA, he'd have 5 stars by now. Time to send in the helicopters.

"With our first round pick, we draft the cops for being able to run a faster 40 then an NFL WR"**- Al Davis

Eh your comment isn't that good anyways. Plus the helicopters are sent after the 2nd star in GTA.

I read a funny one on NFL.com:

"Apparently the cop is a shut down corner"

Shorter and less offensive.
