What they should do is let a Pokemon be able to recall any move it has ever learned by level up without going to the move relearner. I can't think of any reason for that guy. Another slight annoyance is the inability to recall deleted egg moves. Sometimes I'd want to experiment with a different moveset but can't touch the egg moves. A slightly expanded Pokemon data structure (they're not too many egg moves per specie so use a word-sized bitfield: set bit 1 if egg move 1 was learned etc.) would allow the game to check which egg moves were learned even if they were deleted. Now that they're on to a more powerful system with more cartridge storage and RAM, it's time to give us some conveniences. (yeah right..lol)

They don't want you, say, in the middle of the elite four just to be able to switch around your moveset so you always have the right moves. You need to learn to formulate the best all-around moveset so that you wouldn't need to change anything and you can utilize your whole team.

You can zerg through every single Pokemon game all the way to the end with just a starter and maybe one other thing so I don't think they even think about this. The game is not that tightly tuned. Just allowing us to use items like potions in battle shows they don't really care how much you want to abuse the system.

Man, it isn't even worth worrying about. Espurr was a fanmade pokemon. One quick google search will show you that the specific design for Espurr in that leak, including it's type, description, and evolutionary line(though it looks likt they made up their own name for the evolution), were made by an artist who was/is working on their own fanmade Pokemon region. I'm calling it, the source made up the majority of that last batch of "leaks"

Just because it shares the name with a fanmade pokemon does not mean it's fanmade. Also, the fanmade pokemon has a completely different name for it's evolution

Also Ninja'd so hard.

Pangoro sounds a lot like Dangoro, that one boss you had to fight to get the arrows in goron mines in twilight princess. Incidentally, all gorons are sumo wrestlers.

Yeah, but with the current mechanics, even a 75BP move mould hit for less in doubles or triples.
Unless I'm wrong or they change that too.
Where did you get that from?
Scald is a weaker surf with a 98,5% chance to inflict BRN status, which only happens to be commonly associated with fire.

I asked IF there were Dual Type moves that maybe that's how they would work, I know Scald currently is just a water move but maybe under dual moves it would do damage like a fire move instead of a water one while getting all the benefits (and hindrances) of a water move such as STAB and rain

Man I would really dislike that. I'm not a fan of any of the dual type move theories.

I think the stat-drop U-turn (Parting Shot) will be a one-stage drop to Atk and SpA otherwise it'll probably have very narrow distribution. If it drops them by two stages it'll outclass Memento in every way. Being able to set up screens then switch out with Parting Shot should give even very frail sweepers an excellent opportunity to set up while the user can survive to repeat the strategy. Hopefully something gets screens and Parting Shot.

On the other hand, if such a strategy should become popular Defiant Pokemon will finally have something to prey on besides Intimidate. Assuming a one stage drop to both offenses, using Parting Shot against a Pokemon with Defiant will leave them at +3 ATK. Yikes! There would definitely be mindgames.

Contrary Pokemon will also benefit some. But that won't stop it from being used. a lot
Even more if it lowers it by more than one stage.

Edit: just realized how little sense that made. WHAT I WAS TRYING TO SAY was that even though contrary and defiant pokes would benefit from being hit by it, it would still be used a lot.

Mostly because our Contrary users kind of suck. And the one that can maybe be worth while is unreleased and self sufficient

If they made Contrary accessible, then Parting Shot would be fantastic in double and triple battles. It'd be great to have Snivy, or even a new Pokemon, sitting on the field getting powered up by its friend who knows Parting Shot. Same would go for useful Pokemon with Defiant.

Why would you post that after we went through a whole debacle about not believing it and -also- not posting about it/other rumors

I'm sorry, I thought it was unconfirmed, and still worth talking about. I make a bad mix-up, as somewhere along the line, I thought there was an other poster out there claiming half of the same stuff.
I can't delete my own posts for another couple'a weeks. love myself TT^TT

here let's talk about just how big Lumiose is
Ijec4Gd.jpg

big enough to have signs directing where to go

I don't know what it is about this sign but it really brings out just how big the city is. I'm guessing we can check it out to see what is where, obviously, but man just check out all the different roads and the outer loop and the center.

Remember how impressed we were with Castelia? Crazy

it kinda reminds me of a... BOAT STEERING WHEEL THING THAT I FORGET THE NAME OF in shape, with something very prominent in the centre. i wonder what that thing could be? the gym, perhaps? or maybe some battle frontier-esque thing? seems like it would be quite important.

the central thing is the not!Eiffel Tower
it doesn't seem to be a gym from what we've seen of it

e: I bet we climb it like we did the Radio Tower (to combat evil team who've taken it over) or the Lighthouse (to find a gym leader)

how could i forget?

pikachu was broadcasting his message from the top of that tower in the first trailer, which may suggest further significance of it - after all, it's pretty much the first thing we saw of kalos. though there's no way we can possibly know as of yet, it would seem to me as though the not!eiffel tower will have more significance than simply a decorative ornament. that tower is also iconic of france, and paris in particular. it would be a shame to give it no service whatsoever.

Probably a Dharma Wheel, but that wouldn't have much to do with France.

Every town has had maps. For the sake of a realistic visual, Castelia had a map sign next to its entrance, but it was still mostly a diagram of where all the important stuff in the city could be found. The streets even technically had names :|
While former in-town maps were merely signposts(which they may still use for the other establishments) and Castelia City's map was a realistic addition, the placement of the maps in Lumiose is more astute. What makes Lumiose's map cooler is that it has maps/informational standups strewn about(though whether or not you can interact and learn something from each of them isn't confirmed) instead of just the one in Castelia. In Philadelphia, there's a roadmap every couple of blocks in the inner city which resemble the stands and maps in the screenshots to let you know what district you're in and what landmarks are nearby, so several real cities do that already. Having them really does help sell the size of Lumiose City, especially when it looks to be twice the size of Castelia.
You know, cuz Lumiose is a full circle and Castelia is only a semi circle, so it may have twice the area. Duh.

As for the tower, it makes me think of the lighthouses in GSC and XD. It looks like something they'd allow for you to scale via elevator, if you can't train at all inside/around it.

I'm a bit late, but glad to see Masuda makes such good use of his time. Did he seriously feel the need to recap the corocoro info for kids who can't get a hold of a magazine or the internet? And what was with the build-up? I'd understand if it aired on the 13th-15th, but the info had been officially public for like four days. Yeah, I'm certainly crazy for thinking he wouldn't appear just for that. >_> Not to mention it was the episode immediately after one that randomly gave major hints about Sylveon's type.

Smash is recorded months in advance
Sometimes recaps like this fall closer, sometimes not
