The fuck was this? Bowser never had this move before and he used it out of shield. Is this some sort of new shield attack mechanic they've implemented? If this is the only thing you could do directly out of shield aside form roll or spot dodge, that would be a great way to make the game more offensively oriented without crushing defense.

This is what always happens with Nintendo Consoles, though. Lambasted as a technologically inferior gimmick upon launch and then suddenly all the good games are released and everyone wants them.

Good thing I bought a WiiU at launch :D

edit: I should rephrase as "recent nintendo systems" rather than consoles, the N64 was certainly not technologically inferior lol
