Who thinks Frokien will be a speedy sp.attacker?

After seeing fennekin take froakie's hydro pump, I'm not sure, unless fennekin has high special defense. I expect froakie evo to be similar to sceptile...but with atk and speed, and low defenses and hp, average special attack.

News to me, actually

Has anyone actually done anything because I don't think you can even find specific files that easily

I tried to hex edit a 3DS save file on an SD card on the computer. But 3ds save file is very well encrypted. Unless someone figures out how to decrypt a pokemon save file, there might be a way to tweak save files. But as someone posted previously, 3DS has update patches unlike the DS. This could potentially change the encryption scheme. Which means that the decryption scheme needs to be updated as well.

Are there currently any poison types who would become OU or UU by today's standards if there were a good deal of fairy types running around?
Well I love all poison types tbh.

Pretty much the two green said, but I would also use Pokemon like skuntank, as he also functions as a trapper with a choice band.

A few, but the big thing will be Heatran at 40% usage lol.

Resists fairy.
Is immune to poison and double resists steel(used to hit fairies).
Is immune to fire and resists psychic(used to defend against fairies).

It managed to stay high in OU in a fighting type and rain dominated meta. Most of the revealed Pokemon so far are resisted by Heatran including Mega Mawile who is only resisted by Heatran with Steel, Dark, Fairy coverage.

I really don't want steel to be super effective against fairy. They should buff posion but they shouldn't buff steel. I'd rather have grass be super effective against fairy or grass have resistances to fairy, but hey pokebeach's rumors haven't been false so far. And besides, its gamefreak's game, who am I to criticize, its not like they'll listen. We'll just have to adapt.

I really like the idea that just as we have critical hits in the game to increase offense, we have the chance to survive a hit with 1 HP, to increase stall. That seems so logical. I just hope the chances are the same as critical hits. Yes, it brings luck rather than skill into the game....but we've dealt with critical hits since gen 1. I'm sure we can deal with the chance to survive with 1 HP. But then it could just be an in-game thing...but then so should critical hits if that were the case. So I think we'll have to deal with this competitively.

Toxicroak can handle Heatran and Fairies (roughly). Tentacruel could play against them defensively pretty well, theoretically.

The buff to poison certainly isn't huge but its something anyway.

Just in case anyone still believes that shiny Fennekin picture:

It will probably be more noticable in-game

e: By which I mean main-game. Since you'll be more likely to use a poison type and going up against many fairy types

It's fascinating to me how much translating the names can differ

Like Maybe-Fennekin-Evo could also be for a lunar moth
Pokejunle & others thought that maybe Horubii would be a burrowing bee but turned out to be a rabbit
I think one of the maybe-froakie-evos might be able to be translated as an ice wolf
Buriganon could be read as a volcano thing!

This makes me wonder about the order that we're going to meet Pokémon with a correlation to Fairy types. Do they want us to see a Fairy type before or after meeting something that it's weak to? Will the immediate route where either one is available have an even chance of running into one or the other for the sake of showing off the revamped type chart in a food chain-like ecosystem where both predator and type-disadvantaged prey are available? It's Viridian Forest all over again! (and really, just about every route out there. God, Yveltal, get a grip)

@DineshThePoet
Image has been relevant. Nobody cared to spell out the final evo name theory quite to that extent until just then.

They didn't do that with Dark or Steel types so I will assume "completely randomly"
