Just bears a mild correction: You guys are referring to the Route 7 Battle Chateau, not the Battle Maison (which is the Battle Tower/Battle Park/etc of this generation). I don't think the Maison gives XP.
It does not, it only gives BP currency. Thanks for the correction, I get those two mixed up all the time.

While we are on this subject, does anyone know how to become a Grand Duchess or a Grand Duke? It appears like there is more to it beyond beating the Duchesses and Dukes over an over (might have exceeded 30 times).

I have a question about breeding:

I have a female Dragonair and a male Magikarp. Dragonair has Marvel Scale. Magikarp has Swift Swim but really good IVs. My question is, can the baby Dratini inherit Marvel Scale even though the mother and father aren't the same species? And if so, how likely is it to occur? I've been through 2 eggs so far with only Shed Skin Dratini and I'd like an answer before I waste too much more of my time with this Magikarp.

Also, which nature would be better for Multiscale Dragonite, Adamant or Jolly? I'm probably going with a Roost set so I'm leaning towards Jolly, but I'd really like an experienced opinion. Its for the Battle Maison, too, if that helps.

Yes, it can inherit, i think its somewhere around 80%, you were unlucky. As for your other question, Multiscale is on pretty much every set so you can use it on both Jolly and Adamant.

Yup! You need to have become the Pokemon League Champion, and just have a buttload of wins in general iirc.

If I want to use Mega Venusaur as a Special or maybe mixed tank would it be better going 252 HP & mostly SpDef or will he be beefy enough to use 252HP + 252 SpAtk?

Can people add me so I can have better access to pokemon in the friend safari? Kinda sad that I am asking for more friends but I don't have many friends that play this game and I want to complete my pokedex as best as possible! :P Cheers in advance!

My friend code is: 4227-2089-5595
if you could message me yours, it would be greatly appreciated!

Does Aqua Jet have the same priority as Gale Wings Brave Bird?

My thoughts are, if they have the same priority, then the Pokemon with the higher speed wins, yes? Would a max speed Dragonite running neutral speed nature be able to outrun Talonflame Brave Bird after an Agility?

Correct. Dragonite would definitely be able to outrun Talonflame with those conditions. Talonflame can hit 386 speed, which means you'd need at least 194 speed to outrun it after an Agility. Adamant Dragonite can hit 196 speed with no speed EVs invested at all.

However, a max attack Adamant Dragonite would only manage 44.44 - 52.52% against the Talonflame with Aqua Jet.

A Choice Band Adamant Talonflame (I don't know how common it is, but this is the peak of its damage output without boosts) would do 67.18 - 79.25% to a Dragonite uninvested in defenses with Brave Bird.

Sorry I didn't explain this was intended for a mixed Dragonite in a rain team, but thanks for answering. Also taking advantage of Weakness Policy, so it'd be like:

Rain + Weakness Policy boosted Aqua Jet

I wonder on the damage output on this vs a max HP Talonflame. If it's high enough, I might not need as much Attack investment (and can conserve my Speed and Special Attack for Hurricane abuse), though it might be good to have some anyway in case the rain goes down and I have no way of putting it back up again.

Reason I brought up Aqua Jet is so that Talonflame doesn't stop Dragonite's sweep out cold.

Haha yeah no worries. I was just curious myself so I ran the calculations using assumptions.

You'll need at least 136 Attack EVs on a boosting nature Dragonite to KO max HP Talonflame in the rain after a Weakness Policy boost (Aqua Jet: 100.55 - 118.33%).

So just to confirm...

- 136 Attack EVs on a +Attack nature Dragonite for Weakness Policy boosted + Rain boosted Aqua jet to kill Max HP Talonflame
- No Speed EVs to outrun +Speed nature Talonflame after Dragonite uses Agility.

Let me know if I made any errors. Cause if I didn't make any, then this means I can pump my other EVs into his Special Attack or more into his bulk, which would be awesome. I know things can go wrong, such as not having Weakness Policy activate, or have the rain wear off - but this is still good for me to know for future reference. Can't wait to try this in Doubles xD

Thanks again!

You read correctly. The only thing is if I made any mistake. I double checked the calculations, but there's always the possibility of error. Still, it's not surprising that it doesn't take much for a +2/+2/+2 Dragonite to destroy things.

I forgot to mention: if this is for level 50, then you only need 124 attack EVs to KO with the same conditions.
