Instacheck Hotspot -- a fast Pokémon checker for XY

Okay I did some research and I found out that other things on my computer were getting that error, namely Windows Firewall. I had to restart Base Filtering Engine, and after many painstaking hours I finally flat out reinstalled it. Now I am no longer getting that error, but instead a new one

Error HRESULT E_FAIL has been returned from a call to a COM component.

I've done more research but have not had any success trying to fix this. Anyone else know any fixes for this? I'm running Windows 7 Premium if that helps.
This error is typically realted to firewalls or AV programs, so I'm glad you ruled that out. Check your physical wireless networks properties and make sure the sharing is enabled.

Does this solve your problem?
Go to C/D/Whichever drive you use->Windows-> SysWOW64-> Find and delete/rename "wpcap.dll" and "packet.dll"
Reinstall WinPCap

Try this:
  • Go to Start, Search, and type in services.msc
  • Go down to WLAN Auto Config, double click it to open
  • Under Startup Type, select Automatic
  • Under Service Status, Click the Start button

When all else fails....

Okay, let's see if someone can help me, cause I've spent all the afternoon trying to figure out ways to make this work.

At first I was trying to "confuse" the program into thinking I had 2 wireless devices in my laptop, even tho it only has one. After trying many solutions which didn't work, I've come to one that I'm sure has to eventually work.

I have an old wi-fi router which I used to use connecting it to my modem to share wi-fi. And my PC has two ethernet cards. So my current router is connected to my pc via ethernet, and I've connected the other router (which is rather an access point) to my other card. That should leave me with a ethernet entrance, and a wifi exit. Since the second ethernet card is connected to a wi-fi emiting device (the router).

In fact, I can even connect to the access point from other laptops, and access the internet from it (laptop -> access point -> PC -> router -> internet). Which means, of course, that I'm sharing my "real" internet connection.

Sadly, that doesn't work for Instacheck. It seems like the Virtual Router Plus doesn't see my second ethernet card (connected to the wireless access point) as a wi-fi device, and thus won't let me broadcast wi-fi from it.

Any suggestion? Maybe turning the access point's wireless network off to let instacheck create its own? Even tho I don't think it can configure the access point itself...

Lmao i just realised that i can only keep instachecker up for 30 minutes at a time then i have to remove my wifi USB stick and stick it back in and then works, does this happen to anyone else?

I can only get it working for a few minutes at a time before I have to close the hotspot and restart it. I think it might be a problem with my card though. It drops the signal every now and then if I use wifi normally.

lol! I blame your wifi stick =P I've never had good luck with usb wifi sticks.

Not going to lie....this sounds like a nightmare.... lol! Why do you have two network cards? Are neither of them wireless cards?

Ok, could there be a download for JUST the Checker? I already use 3DS HomePass using my PC's port, so I don't need that part of the program (which I can't get to run anyways; it won't let me select my internet connection! It insists on using my 3rd port [then gives a

as well as VirtualRouterPlus can't be started message]! Which I won't remove, since then I'll lose my HomePass and go through heck to restore, AGAIN [So many Blue Screens...]).

Nope, and I got 2 because I had a spare one from an old computer and I plugged it in xP

I also got 3 hard drives inside the tower... I like to reuse stuff.
