Other Silly Things You've Seen On The OU Ladder: V2

Umm, Quick Attack is a pretty standard fourth move on Scizor. It lets CB variants pick off weakened sweepers like Thundurus, Gyarados, Volcarona, Talonflame (assuming it Flare Blitzes), etc. much more easily than it could with Bullet Punch. In fact, I've seen several things in this thread that are pretty standard or are usable enough to not be considered "silly."

Lol
I once saw a choice banded latios with earthquake
And I had a gengar ( not mega ) against it
Predicting a special attack, I switched into my mamoswine to scare it out, but with its focus sash intact.

It's only been on Pokemon Showdown (go figure) but I've been seeing a lot of non-Mega Stone holding Pokemon being used in OU.
People run non-Mega Pinsir for the "surprise factor". What?
I've heard that the mega stone is run to counter knock off because you can't knock off mega stones

Maybe, but the power boost to Knock Off still happens IIRC. I guess some people run multiple megas to decide which one is appropriate for the opponent, but it still seems unnecessary to me, especially if said mon isn't good outside of its mega.

Well, obviously it's to hard counter Rotom-W with Mold Breaker Earthquake. And to make sure that Stealth Rock doesn't hit as hard. We're all just too noobish to understand this higher plane of competitive thinking~

-Azelf Fire Blasting a Starmie.
-Ferrothorn paralyzing an Empoleon... with Thunderbolt.
-Green's Team (Pidgeot, Rhydon, Blastoise, Alakazam, Arcanine, Exeggutor)
-Someone forfeiting when opposing Galvantula Volt Switched out after his Thundurus taunted it (+1300 rating btw) on turn one.

And in Ubers...
-Blizzard, Aeroblast and Hydro Pump Pressure Lugia.
-Fly Aerodactyl.
-Sunny Day Torterra.
-Megahorn Xerneas.
-Slash, non-Mega Absol.
-Bulk Up Dialga (which seemed that its only attacking move was Dragon Claw, kept setting up against a Cosmic Power, Blizzard Clefable).

pressure lugia is not silly at all. it's a great wall that drains pp quickly. hell the smogon analysis for lugia had an entire essay about which ability you should use.

Bulk Up Dialga isn't silly. It was one of its main sets in Gen 5, just look at the analysis. I understand the circumstances in which it was being used were silly, but you were wording it like the set itself is bad. The set might not be as potent now because mono-Dragon attacking is a bad idea, but it could just run Iron Head as its move as nothing is immune to it.

Yes, the Aero was mega, but was OH-Shot anyways. Yes, Xerneas can go mixed, but Megahorn seems a little gimmicky (for Mewtwo...?) to me.

It isn't silly per se, but now it's more unreliable because of fairies.

Just battled this guy, here is what's wrong with this guys team:

-He used Grovyle, when Sceptile was clearly the better option.
-Has no mega, but uses 3 Pokemon who are mostly used in OU due to their megas.
-Blizzard Aggron.
-Static Manetric, who has low defense and access to a better abillity.

Blizzard Aggron takes the cake though, with it's 60 base special attack.

I just played a guy with Special Tauros. This isnt gen 1...
You wanna know how to play a real Gen 1 Tauros? Give it Hyper Beam.

To be fair, Tauros has a really good special movepool, especially with Sheer Force. It does not, however, have a good SpA stat. (Base 40? Please.)

In Gen4, I ran Blizzard Life Orb Rhyperior with 252 Sp. Atk EVs.

OHKOing Gliscor is no joke, nor is 2HKOing Hippowdon. I ran it because my "Hail Team" needed a rock resist and Earthquake / Blizzard has ridiculous coverage. Fun times... fun times...

I might as well list the sily things in this battle.
http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/ou-87948231
  1. Using Infestation... then switching out.
  2. Mixed Charizard... no Mega-Stone.
  3. Looking at Damage calcs... His Azumarill must be horrid in offence and/or not have Huge Power. a propwer physical Azumarill could OHKO my Zoroark (No def EV's)
  4. Hidden Power Excadrill... Arceus above... It has 50 base SpA! Just... Why!?
  5. Superpower against Gardy... Tho's 4x weak and the Deoxys-Defence had Dark Pulse as well.
  6. Finally the only non silly but flipping lucky thing was Gardy surviving the hit with 5/340 HP... If that Charizard had gone mega maybe then my foe would have list...
Yeah... I thnk I meet the ones who caught the dumb.
