The opposing Aegislash used Giga Impact! Goodra lost 62.5% of its health! The opposing Aegislash's Gooey lowered its Speed!

The opposing Hydreigon used Tri Attack! Gardevoir lost 26.7% of its health!

The opposing Serperior used Giga Impact! Goodra lost 33.6% of its health! The opposing Serperior's Gooey lowered its Speed!

This is the new meta

woah woah woah you dont get that he used tri attack so he could attack at full power. i mean seriously man how else does he use all three heads

I know this thing gets Technician, but seriously?

Yeah, it's a thing. Trap an unsuspecting Grass type with Whirlpool, then Perish Song it to death. I mean, it's not a GREAT thing, but it is a thing.

New Meta? No, only experienced player's could use such a strat. It takes skill, determination, and utter stupidity perseverance to pull off such a set.

Ladies and Gentlemen, let us tip our hats to such an awe inspiring set.

This is correct, but there are people who run Adamant (and enough EVs for M-Pinsir) for the power it gives. Usually, they have an answer to opposing Talonflame.
That's what I do. I prefer the adamant, Life Orb, and Roost set myself. Imo, it's too frail for Swords Dance.

Let's see what I can dig up over watching a few battles...

- Electivire.
- Weakness Policy Golem.
- A special Tyranitar with Dark Pulse. It was totally walled by a Sitrus Berry Florges.
- A Tyranitar with Smooth Rock. It had Excadrill as its partner...by which I mean Mold Breaker Excadrill, and nothing else that could conceivably take advantage of sand.
- Arcanine TWO Arcanines.
- Toxic Spikes Scolipede, set up while the opponent's Venusaur was still alive...and what does said Scolipede user switch into? Starmie.
- Leftovers Scyther with Brick Break and Tailwind.
- Dark Pulse / Confuse Ray / Foul Play / Sludge Bomb Gengar. It won the game.
- Lead Smeargle without Focus Sash.
- Dusclops.
- Ninjask.
- Torterra.
- Buizel.
- Flame Body Talonflame. It burned a Scizor, opponent caught on, and set up on Talonflame with a Scolipede for a swift ragequit.
- A player mashing the timer button, resulting in turning the timer off repeatedly and resetting it, then ragequitting on an AFK opponent.
- Mega Aerodactyl with Rock Slide / Dragon Pulse / Sky Attack / unknown. Also the player using said Mega Aerodactyl had a Charizard.
- Said Charizard was a specially-based set that had Sunny Day. At least it had Solar Power, but even then it was badly underpowered enough that I suspect no SpA EVs.
- Ambipom.
- Night Slash Gliscor...which also had Knock Off.
- Mega Punch Shell Bell Snorlax.
- Psychic Shell Bell Metagross.
- Draco Meteor Garchomp.
- Hidden Power Electric on Greninja. It used it on a Swampert.
- Mega Gardevoir with Dazzling Gleam / Hypnosis / Nightmare.
- Hyper Beam Magmortar.
- Giga Impact Hydreigon.
- And because I saved the best for last: this monstrosity.

Some of those aren't inherently bad. But that last one, Buizel, and Special Metagross/Ttar are awful.

This team. Just so much lolz involved.

-Entrainment Durant.
-Mean Look Umbreon, whose only purpose seems to be to keep Truant on my current Pokemon. Even if I hadn't switched out though...
-Not expecting my Manectric to have Volt Switch. After I gave away Truant, the guy forfeited, like I just ruined his ingenious plan.
-Magikarp
-Metapod

Not sure about the rest, but I'm guessing the plan was to incapacitate the lead with Truant, keep them in with Mean Look, then pass a Shell Smash to Machamp? IT IS TACTICAL.

Seriously though, Magikarp isn't funny. It has never been funny. It will never be funny. JUST STAHP.

Truant Trapping is a pretty common gimmick strategy, there's been 3-4 other examples of it in this thread. Dugtrio is usually the trapper, though, and it alternates between Hone Claws and Protect until it has +6 Att/Def/Acc and proceeds to sweep with EdgeQuake while the opponent is helpless to stop the boosts.

Screwing around with Choice Banded Fly Pikachu. And winning. People need patience.
Why would you choice band a Pikachu? Light Ball multiplies its Attack by 2, which is certainly much better than 1.5x and move locked.

- Psychic Shell Bell Metagross.
- Draco Meteor Garchomp.
Most of these don't qualify as silly.
- That Gengar should've had Shadow Ball instead of Dark Pulse, but other than that I fail to see anything impossibly terrible about the set.
- Electivire is... okay. Not great, but inherently not terrible on account of being fully evolved and having a decent BST.
- Eviolite Dusclops is actually a decent wall.
- Ninjask is still used to Baton Pass, though why I'm not sure. Infiltrator Ninjask with Night Slash is a counter to Mega Gengar, though. (Silly fact of the day, right there!)
- Torterra is inherently not terrible for the same reasons as Electivire.
- Life Orb Ambipom with no moves other than Fake Out and Last Resort can actually do some serious damage.
- Shell Bell is usually silly, but Special Metagross is "usable"... with Power Herb Geomancy in Balanced Hackmons.
- Draco Meteor on Garchomp can actually hit physical walls for fairly major damage.

On another note:

http://pokemonshowdown.com/replay/ou-89836496 — In which someone randomly sends me a personal challenge. Now, I haven't done much of anything in OU for a while, but I know enough to know that these sets are bad.

Featuring:
- Special-based Unnerve Tyranitar on an Air Balloon. In his defence, I was only able to set up my Mega Gardevoir sweep because he missed Blizzard three times in a row.
- Non-Drizzle Politoed that isn't Choice Specs, and seems to have a strange EV spread judging by how much damage Psyshock did and how little damage Hydro Pump did.
- Mega Aggron with no STAB that also has a really strange EV spread. My Shadow Ball did more than it should have, and his Earthquake did even less than it should have. Also, turns out that even with the resistance my Hyper Voice would've done more damage than Shadow Ball. XD
- Skarmory without HP EVs. Which he tried to switch in on Mega Gardevoir.
- Aerial Ace Metagross. That doesn't have full Attack investment.
- Air Balloon Celebi with a -Sp. Def nature, and that also has no Sp. Atk investment. Again, another situation where Hyper Voice would've done more damage had I bothered to calc it.
