I fail to see how Shadow Claw is terrible on Aegislash. It's his only worthwhile Physical Ghost STAB stronger than Shadow Sneak. Aegislash's Brave Fencer set, one of the earliest ones suggested when X & Y first came out, was Iron Head/Swords Dance, Shadow Claw, Sacred Sword, King's Shield. Shadow Claw and Sacred Sword give perfect neutral coverage, and then you either run Swords Dance for boosting or Iron Head for more immediate power through your secondary STAB. It's shut down by Will-o-wisp, of course, but Will-o-wisp only became such a common move after Aegislash showed up.
And hey, testing out your "weird ideas" that work in theory to see if they work in practice really isn't all that bad.
Energy Ball on Jellicent hits other Water-types (including Rotom-W). While it's normally a waste of a moveslot just to hit other Water-types, hitting Rotom-W for SE damage is very nice.
Speaking of stupid, though, this: http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/ou-96970959
> Mega Mawile Sucker Punching an Infernape.
> Forretress obvious best switch-in vs. Infernape.
> Calm Mind boosting specially offensive Carbink. (Them base 50 offences, though.) Maybe at +4 or so it could deal damage with an SE Power Gem, but... I don't know. I mean, Sap Sipper Belly Drum Azumarill has really underwhelming power, and that's at +6.
> Using Toxic Spikes when everything remaining on the opponent's team is either going to die to SR anyway, or is immune.
> After setting up Swords Dance and being forced out by Dragon Tail, setting up Swords Dance again... and having it work because Dragon Tail misses.
> Thunder Wave + Gyro Ball Ferrothorn... again.
> X-Scissor Mega Scizor. Seriously guys, use Bug Bite.
> Nasty Plot Togekiss, while Toxic'ed, setting up on Aegislash's attack turn, thus allowing Aegislash to King's Shield its attack.
> Aegislash using Sacred Sword on Togekiss.
> Forretress (as this guy's last Pokémon) using Volt Switch on Latios instead of Gyro Ball.

> Counter + Sash Gengar actually going for Counter when a second Shadow Ball would've guaranteed a KO on their Mega Pinsir without losing almost all your health in the process.
> Forfeiting when a bad play results in you losing your Mega.
