Only thing I can think of would be to replace the ball sprite with a smaller custom sprite.
I made a4,000 hours in paintquick moc up of a standard Pokeball so you can see how bad that would look.

I personally find the shrunken sprites ugly, so I didn't consider that an option. I know I'm not helpful anyway.
Bump for new page. Added to of my self caught pokemon to the list, and made them fully redis. My moltres isn't unique anymore and is overshadowed, and while dive ball and HP ground is cool on articuno, it's ivs really aren't good enough to be a non redis mon.Hello my peeps :). Right now, I am trying to collect Kalos legends. If they are redistributable, great. If not, that's fine too. I have these fully redis Kalos legends that I have traded for over my time at smogon.

Sorry. Hope you can appreciate I was just joking. I figured I'd use the shrunken sprite as it's better than having that huge space there IMO.

I'm just wondering if the 17 in sp.def is worth concerning over if I use it in battles.
I wouldn't use it. But if it concerns you, then don't use it but keep it for the sake of you breeding it yourself :] otherwise it's still decent to use for battling even with it.
