If females are troubling you, you can always use male Cute Charmers to lead the party. You'll have a 66% chance for a female. =) (no Synchronize though of course)

I use a Male Sylveon Quiet 31/0/31/0/31/0 with Flash, Dazzling Gleam, Skill Swap and Covet - heh.

It still takes ages to find them sometimes, notably a female Adaptability Crawdaunt took a literal two hours to find one time. RNG was not kind and Friend Safari encounter slots are awful.
