I'm pretty sure the rules here frown upon what is an obvious toss since, like, when Fancy Vivillon came out. It's even in the first post of the thread IIRC.

Moving on, if you're wanting to evolve Hippopotas, then Luxury Ball would be the best way to go.
 
Alright, I need some help.

I'm trying to fit together a team to RNG Landorus in Black. I need
- My Sync
- 2 Genies
- 2 Chatot
- An HM Slave

The issue is that I don't have anything among that resilient enough to last against Landorus while I catch it. Is there any way I can compress these roles somehow?

Sync = gardevoir
Genies = highest level possible (depends on how quickly/easily you can level them up)
HM slave = see genies/give the Some HMs to gardevoir

Can the Genies learn Waterfall and Surf though?

The Genies are Junk ones mainly for the sake of making Landorus appear, but I don't have anything to level them up with bar just grinding for a millenium.

Remove one of the chatot and get a levitate bronzong, it can be found in the abundant shrine as well.
Edit: in case you haven't checked it's moves, it only knows earthquake, fissure, sandstorm and rockslide, and bronzong is pretty bulky and you can catch it in there at lv 50 i think.

No they can't. Well grinding would be your best bet (or if you own BW2 just use the passerby thingy (forgot the name) for level grinding. I leveled a lv10 mon to 100 in 2 days with it + grinding). But you should try gardevoir as sync. It could help (just level all your mons a bit and then go there you'll have captured it before all your mons faint. I'm pretty sure about that)

I know that, but it won't kill you to use just 1, I mean I have done it. Also it would take you longer to lv up stuff than just using 1 chatot.

Bronzong was already my choice for a walling mon, the problem was more fitting him onto the team with the stuff I mentioned needing.

Actually, Gen 5 allowed out of Pokemon Center trading, right? Can you trade things in your party? Maybe I could swap the HM Slave out via a trade once I actually get to the shrine

Yes you can trade some things in your party but not HM slaves, to prevent people from getting stuck in game routes.
Edit: no idea if you have it, but you could use a mew as an HM slave and sync.
scratch that, instead of switching the HM slave just trade-switch the chatot with the sync once done the chattering, no idea if that'll advance your frame though.

No mew unfortunately.

Seems I may indeed have to go with one Chatot. It's just that since I'm going for a shiny spread, the frame number is obnoxiously high.

Edit: To my knowledge, the C-Gear in general tends to mess with RNG, so turning it on for the trade probably would throw off the frame.

Alternatively, I might just take a ridiculously bulky Water as my HM slave, since Landorus doesn't have EVs or anything and I'll be using Repeat Balls, so the capture won't take too long.

You made the same mistake I did. You only need to have the two genies in the party to summon Landorus. After it has been summoned, you can leave the area, deposit the genies and get whatever you need to catch Lando. =)

Shit, that just made this a whole lot easier. Thanks for the tip, now I can get on that today.

Edit: Any Randomly moving Trainers/NPCs I should try to avoid? I'd want to dodge them summoning Landorus so I can battle and make sure they'll be stationary when I do the actual frame advancement.

Yep. I was using a single Chatot before but that took forever and I kept messing up my advancements. When I left, it was still there when I got back. The double Chatot made it a breeze. =)

Edit: I don't remember having trouble with the NPC's. I just caught Lando with no frame advancements to check my SSF and go from there. It's Black, so hitting the seed is easy.
