Nickname discussion

Current names for my team so far in a new Pearl run! =D

Royalty the Prinplup.
Dark Simba the Luxio.
NightyNigh the Hoothoot. Meant to be NightyNight.
Zen Master the Meditite.

Current names for my X team:
Quilladin = Chester
Machop = Sensei
Sandile = Rockstar
Fletchinder = Fletcher
Wartortle = Squirt
Aerodactyl = no nickname

Also, I legitimately named my Tepig in B2 Bacon.

I couldn't think of a good name for Pancham that I really liked, so I just went with using the letters used by both forms, which was Pan.

I know this is supposed to be for Pokemon nicknames, but this is what your friends "nickname" you if your name starts with the letter b in X/Y.

Someone has a potty mouth.

Honestly I'm just surprised these slipped past the translation team.

While we're on the subject, can we talk about our favorite trainer/rival nicknames too? Because it is really fun to mess with the dialogue with some good ones.
Well, we all know the usual set of nicknames people give the Rival in RBYFRLG, but I decided to find a nickname that means the same thing without straight up calling him, well, you know. So I thought long and hard to who best embodies that word. Then I remember this waste of human tissue:
Scumbag+makoto+check+out+that+paint+skills+small+in+all+seriousness+i_8481bc_4876521.jpg
So I named my rival "Makoto".

I don't name my rivals in Gen 4 and 5 other than their default names because they're genuinely good people, except for HGSS, which is a remake of GSC.

On the other hand, I would name my Gen 1 and 2 rivals after references to various stuff in the fandom, such as (Elf) COACH for Silver, and @$$HAT for Blue / Green. No, I haven't actually done this, but I plan to eventually.

"Elf Coach" is a reference to Vietnamese Crystal, to those wondering.

Oh my lord, I remember the Vietnamese Crystal. Just looked up some of its awful translations again. It made me have a good laugh. Thanks for sharing the reference, I almost forgot about that game.

Grapes? the Psyduck. I just caught the little guy as a slave for Amity Square, and this came to my mind. Another name could be Got Any? but, I really like Grapes? Psyduck even look like the duck!

Decided to throw out a couple more names.

Geiga the Eelektross (Coming from the geiger counter that Tynamo sounds like)

Hemlock the Leafeon (poisonous plant)

Jabba the Gastrodon (don't choke him :3)

Ruble the Sableye (Russian currency... and a subtle nod to a joke that Rupees in Zelda are sometimes called Rubles by the uneducated)

Tyrion the Gallade (I just really like our favorite Lannister.)

Hyperion the Arcanine (the original Titan of the Sun)

Angel the Garchomp (after a shark in the Meg series of books)
