Which sports uniforms are most awesome?

I guess maybe this does not interest other people as much as me, but I really like looking at uniforms (a la Uni Watch by Jay Lukas, I believe). I was arguing with Madlib about this on IRC, and here are who I would rank as the top 10 in the NFL

Chargers, Broncos, 49ers, Cowboys, Bills, Colts, Steelers, Panthers, Patriots, Chiefs

I am really upset that the Devil Rays are going from their exciting uniforms and hat logo to a generic Dodgers type uniform (blue sleeves, white elsewhere iirc) and a hat that says 'TB' ugh, they might really have the best uniforms in baseball right now. The Yankees uniforms are so overrated.

The Maple Leafs NHL uniforms are way cooler than the other Canadian teams ;)

NBA no teams really stand out as much...there are a few cool ones, like the Bulls or whatnot, but it is a lot harder to have crazy awesome ones (but god the Wizards' are terrible)

College, the Longhorns of course have the absolute coolest uniforms :-*
 
I'd put the Chicago Blackhawks up there first.

Overall I think the NFL and NHL have all the best uniforms. Aestheticly, I dont think the NBA and even less so the MLB compare.

Not sure why you had to dick in a canadian nhl team comparison but I think the Canadiens, Flames & Senators all have better uniforms than the pretty bland Maple Leafs. I see a trend in what I like in uniforms though : red.
 
Those Eagle jerseys they wore this Sunday were actually pretty kickass imo... I also like the Chargers and the Ravens jerseys from the NFL. The Titans jerseys are pretty sweet too.

I was always a fan of the alternate Phoenix Suns jerseys or the old school ones (probably because I'm a fan):

A local Minor League Baseball team has some of the best (read unique) jerseys/hats out there:

In my opinion any jersey from Detroit rocks. But that's just because my dad is from Michigan and he's a huge fan of anything Detroit or Michigan, so I'm biased.

NHL uniforms are just so baggy to me that they never manage to look cool :( I would like to see a lot more 'real Football' uniforms though, some of them are pretty awesome! Us ignorant US citizens do not see many. I lived in Dallas for 18 years and never saw FC Dallas's that were just posted lol
 
Nah, FC Dallas is several years old (by several I mean more than a few, not like 20 though)

The Ducks mainly green one is pretty sweet, the other two look a lot worse though :( I always root for the Ducks to beat USC/Cal because of the cooler green uni :x
 
While I am not big on the school I like Notre Dame's jerseys, it's a pretty prestigious program except for this year apparently(and well most of the last 10 or so I guess !) and I guess there was always something about them that seemed appropriate to me

I like the Cowboys and the 49ers a lot in the NFL, I think probably mostly because of memories of the various Aikman/Young games but much like with ND there is something about them that makes them look like winners to me even though these guys(the 49ers especially) have had some rough years in the past few. I like the Seahawks's jerseys a lot too although I think I prefered the pre-1992 look more than what they wear now. The Packers have pretty nice jerseys(the non-white ones anyway) too, I guess the NFC just excels in this department to me!


As far as the other sport I actually care about I am very very very partial to my wings of course(particularly the road jerseys), and if nothing else at least I can go with the argument that they are classics. Other jerseys that I think are cool are Carolina's even though I kind of hate the team, the Kings, and the Sabers. I like the Avalanche's jerseys' a lot too even though I hate them the most, the jerseys probably invoke stronger feelings in me than any team other than Detroit's though, haha(except for maybe anything with Pronger written on it...)


EDIT: seriously tad it is mind boggling to me that anyone could find those eagles throwback jerseys appealing even the slightest bit for any reason other than comedic value.

I just don't like how they use the colors, they(intentionally) use the Swedish colors but even like the Swedish hockey jerseys normally look a lot better than that I just don't get it :(

I agree with you on the Pheonix Jerseys. PHX is so kickass!
 
Some fast stats on this bad boy: it is the top grossing hockey (not sure about other sports but could be overall) jersey per unit time EVER. That unit time is the 04-05 season when the flames streaked to the finals and lost in game 7. During that run to the playoffs, the CCM actually stopping making ALL OTHER jerseys just to crank out thousands and thousands of these...which were so popular (especially in Calgary and surrounding areas) that they simply would not stay in stock for very long at all. Is it any wonder? They are sexy as hell!
