I still think it looks like it has hooves.
I think the shape looks like antelopes.

'copyrighted'Well if they do they'll have to tread carefully, Owlbear is a D&D copyrighted creature. While other games series have had Owlbear-like monsters it's just as an enemy creature or side character. One thing to keep in mind that if made into a Pokemon there might be merchandise with it (for sale) and that's where things start getting murky.
this reminds me how everyone thought pre-release screenshot haxorus was some sort of giant bugI figured it out. We are looking at it entirely the wrong way. Using the arcane arts of, uh, art, and resizing and enhancing the image using legitimate proprietary software tools, I have determined that the following is an entirely accurate and totally infallible view of the mystery Pokemon.

Definitely bug/poison.
It'd be funny but I doubt it'll ever actually happen. Most starters tend not to throw a curveball like that, barring a few exceptions like Samurott.
Anyone else think the dog will be the regional rodent replacement? It looks like it'd be normal type.
I wouldn't mind a regional dog instead of regional rodent.

Haxorus and Excadrill were featured in a double battle screenshot prior to their official reveals.Wait, what? I don't remember Haxorus appearing in any way before its full artwork reveal.
Whatever Pokemon it is, it has a nice butt. But its blatantly facing forwards.... That's just some detailing, not its face :/
Plain Normal is so overdone and boring at this point. Actually any single type is tbh. We need more combinations overall and less monotyped Pokemon.
Tornadus and Flying-Arceus are like the best you can get with mono-Flying; we don't need another. What about pure Flying?
Swellow always had guts tho.I honestly don't care too much about typing. I think Fire/Fighting is amazing in-game. You can plow through the NPCs with just a Fire/Fighting type; they're really powerful and have ridiculously strong STAB moves. Besides, Blaziken, Infernape, and Emboar are all different in certain ways. Especially the slow but tanky Emboar.
So on the subject of Normal/Flying...
I don't care. I do appreciate when they can make the Normal/Flying type bird a bit more interesting though. Talonflame has wowed everybody just by its different typing alone, but then there's also Gale Wings (which I despise facing competitively). Staraptor for the longest time managed to stick out as the cooler Normal/Flying type. It never had much going for it than an interesting design and a good movepool, as well as a decent Intimidate ability.
With the way they have been spicing up previous Normal/Flying Pokemon by giving the likes of Swellow Guts and Boomburst and Mega Evolving Pidgeot, I expect something at least cool. I don't want this one being forgotten like Noctowl and Unfezant.
