I'm being 100% serious when I say that we have literally no other options for a GSC player because ones that do are either banned or not signing up this year (DA and Lutra respectively, and to our knowledge, there are no other active options), and I'd hate to be apart of a team that's being dragged down because the TDs don't want to make an exception (it's not like we're trying to put a Norwegian on US East), I know it's the rules, but it's unfairly screwing over a team competing.

The only reason I'm asking for an exception is because we have literally 0 other options.

What a terrible argument, the new rules were put in place to make it extremely difficult for people to fake eligibility. While I do agree that PoMMan should be able to play for UK since he is quite clearly a Brit living in Australia but unfortunately people who didn't care about the rules bastardized this tournament. These new rules aim to make this tournament as legitimate as can be given we are playing over the internet, by giving team UK and PoMMan a special exception it creates a slippery slope and threatens to completely nullify anything that the recent rule changes have fixed.

Your main job as a captain is to put together the best team possible, teams like afrabs didn't have a real GSC player to lean on last year so they put the extra effort in and made the wins happen. Suck it up and focus on fixing that slot on your team rather than airing your dirty laundry here when you know nothing will come of it.

If i were to go travelling next year in the following months and signed up whilst i was travelling because, idk i had wifi or something, the country i was living in during the signup post in which i posted would be where I am allowed to play because it doesn't matter what nationality you are, no matter how much you are willing to prove it. This rule about IP is completely ridiculous for this since I've lived in the UK my whole life, but if i were to sign up when spending, idk 2 months in italy, i'd only be allowed to play for team Italy by this logic.

The main point is that the only thing that never changes about someone is their nationality, their residence can change however. Why are you basing something off of their IP when next year I could be living in Tanzania. It completely screws newcomers who sign up for the first time, just like with afrabs or asia.
Although it could create a "slippery slope" whereby a lot of exceptions are made, but all in all it should be nationality > residence. Especially since the only exceptions being made are there to suit people who are Belgian or Swiss rather than those who are nationals who actually belong to a certain team...

LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT MONGOLIANS Man

they absolutely dominate sumo wrestling. Every Yokazuna currently is mongolian, and has been for over 10 years. All starting with the flashy cocky Asashoryu. This man gave no fucks and many say that sumo died when he retired/got in a fight with someone at a bar. Then came Hakuho. I want you to go google how many sumo wrestlers have ever won over 10 tournaments. Its a pretty small list isn't it? Now Hakuho here has Thirty Seven (37) total tournament wins. TWELVE (12) of those are Zensho yushos (winning all 15 bouts and losing 0 during a tournament). So not only is he on that list with people with 10 wins, hes done over 10 without losing a single match. Hes like the Earthworm of Sumo wrestling. Asashoryu is more like Bloo, who was caught match fixing once. Outside of these two their are 2 other current yokazuna, Harumafuji and Kakuryu. Kakuryu is a bitch but Harumafuji is a god of technique.

edit2: also for the record, there has only been 3 non-mongolians to win a tournament in the pass 10 years. Only one of them was japanese and that was this january, the other two were eastern european (Estonian and Bulgarian to be exact)

Yeah because they're the same? Jsaok is a black guy from louisiana but he is NIGERIAN. His name is Steve Okoye, Okoye is a Nigerian last name. He had that as his skype name before I even asked him to join wcop. Don't pretend they're the same case. Your Norweigian guy has never been to america, Jsaok has been to nigeria.
