A magazine confirms that Megas will be in Sun Moon.

It was said that Jangmo-o 's ability sound proof, can block Mega Gardevoir's and Sylveon's Hyper Voice.

The question never was whether they were returning (well, okay, there was that question but I never doubted they would return), it was whether there would be new ones.

I guess one last thing to do is ask a couple of questions: With less than two months to go until the launch of Sun/Moon to most of the world, What are some of your overall favorite Pokemon revealed so far? What concepts revealed so far have you most excited to try out in competitive settings?

Favorite Revealed Pokemon: Charizard PokeRide Hmm, I'll admit there's not one which I went "I gotta use it on my team!". Vikavolt looks cool, always wanted a Clydesdale Pokemon so I like Mudsdale, Mimikyu is tragically adorable, definitely going to try and get all four versions of Oricorio, I like how drastically different Alolan Sandshrew and Vulpix are from their normal forms so wouldn't mind trying one of them (I'm looking towards Alolan Sandslash at the moment since it looks cool), Alolan Raichu I'd like to try out, I'm interested in seeing where they go with Jangmo-o and Type: Null. And out of the Legendary Pokemon they've shown I'm liking Tapu-Koko. I would have included Lycanroc's Midday Form but I'm getting Moon, though I'm willing to try Midnight Form.

Concepts & Features Try Out: Not sure about in a competitive settings but of the many concepts and features they've shown I of course want to try and see all the Z-Moves. I'm looking forward to the Island Trials and using the PokeRides to see how they shake up the Pokemon formula. Poke Finder looks it could be fun, I played Pokemon Snap years ago and wasn't that good so let's see if I improved since I was a kid. Of course there's also the story including facing against Team Skull and the Ultra Beasts (and maybe even the Aether Foundation). I would even go as wide reaching as saying exploring the Alola region, seeing what visual effects they'd added, and how much customization options have they given.

Honestly it would probably be easier for me to talk about what I'm not that interested in. :P

I saw in a recent video on the official YT Pokemon channel and I took screenshoots of things that appeared really briefly that I don't remember there were in previous trailers, it's nothing big but at least it gives us more new details about things we know.

Let's not get into the "Megas are broken" discussion again. The only thing they'll probably do is make Parental Bond less broken.

Either way, I think I'm sufficiently hyped. The new Pokemon didn't really do it for me but I think the other new features did. What's a REAL shame is that, despite using the same storage system, you can't transfer from Gen VI to Gen VII back to Gen VI again. I mean is it THAT hard for them to do stuff like in Gen II with move checking and stuff like that? I get not transferring new old Pokemon to Gen VI because of the location, but I figured it shouldn't have been TOO hard to keep enough data to allow a retransfer of Pokemon back to the original games.

Since the new monkeys were announced, countless people made me wish for no gorilla Pokemon for SM. If this continues, my list of "What I don't want to see in SM!" will be enough for a top 10.

Or HMs still exist and those rental Pokemon are just for when you lack a Pokemon of yours that can do the same thing.

Can't rule it out, but it would be pretty stupid imho. HMs are clearly outdated, I understand why the kept them in 5th and 6th gen, but it's time for them to go. In ORAS once I got the Eon Flute I NEVER used Fly again... The Soaring method just need a way to directly select your destination, and it completely outclasses its HM counterpart. HMs are often more annoying than not, and visually much less appealing than poké-riding.

On a positive note, the graphics are really cool. I like the trainer customization too, reminds me of PBR. I only wish I could make my trainer 17 instead of what looks to be 14. At least it's better than looking 10 lol.

Isn't Pokemon first and foremost an RPG? I think Game Freak balances certain elements if they are popular in VGC or want to make something popular.
Kanga was popular in 2013 so they introduced a bunch of megas that could "deal" with it...but then VCG 2016 happened and it was still everywhere.
Actually, no.

Pokemon is monster collector first everything else second. Sure it's always had RPG elements but the intent of the creators was to capture the feeling of hunting bugs in your backyard.

Can. We. Just. Not.

Holy smokes. This is like the 20th time this has come up. Every time I have to delete a shit load of posts. Seriously. Its beyond a joke at this point when the topic of Megas pops up and you all recite the same shit over and over almost verbatim. Let it go.

Just wait for full on proper confirmation. Then still shut the hell up about megas because no one cares until you can actually use them in game. It's obvious Alola will be all about the Z moves until the post game at the earliest. Only then we might be able to use both (or one).

Also: Orange Islands is not the place for competitive talk. I honestly don't give two craps what "meta" GF balance for (if any). We let some of it go here because it's the only place on Smogon you are currently allowed to talk about the new games. But lets keep it light at the best of times please.

I sometimes swear that some of these guys do it just to push your buttons. As Bill Mayer would say "I don't know it for a fact...but I know it's true"! Okay, okay, I'm just joking! Don't hurt me!

Change in subject! So, am I the only one who plans on waiting until PokéBank works for SM? Perhaps some of you intend to reset your games when you can transfer over hatchlings of favorites and Pokémon you've been wanting to try out? Well, unless there is an event released in two months that I can only get after I beat whatever passes for the League, or all the Kahunas.

Well, I'll try to get it as early as possible. My dad is getting interested in Pokémon so I'll try to force convince him to get a 3DS and Pokémon Sun so I'll have someone to trade with.

I actually plan to get it right away (there will probably be a preorder giveaway like SB Torchic anyways), but let it sit after a certain point after I reach the nearest PC, maybe soft-reset the appropriate nature for, arrgh, of all of the starters names, I've forgotten the one I'm going to get! 2 months should be plenty. My guess is Robingroot is going to be a physical attacker, so I'm thinking Jolly. Hope I'm right on that account!

And I have a bunch of legendaries left to soft-reset for in ORAS anyways!

When is Thanksgiving Break for you guys in college? I plan on getting Pokemon Sun whenever that is lol. Though I do want Harambe, I'm probably going to make Chimchar my starter so I guess I still have my monkey and I get to see buff perfect cell body a freaking guardian wtf.

Not that I think Instruct will work with Z-moves, but oh my GOD thing about that for a second. I cry.

This wraps up the last bits of information that CoroCoro had for us this round I think! That means the stuff on Oct 4 will be entirely new information! It still pisses me off though that Lycanroc Midnight's only cited move is the hugely unimpressive Counter. I really hope it has decent defenses to actually use it. Or something. SOMETHING has to make up for lacking a PRIORITY ROCK MOVE!

Pokemon GO at work.

wait by eevee getting a +2 in every stat does that include evasion? because holy shit will that get quickbanned if it is.

The trailer doesn't show it increasing Accuracy or Evasion.

... when it's the first time I will be able to own not only a Pokemon game, but a Nintendo console, I have the feeling hype will consume me by november... not even the very week Pokemon Moon comes out.

Thinking of getting the 3DS early and alongside Super Mystery Dungeon to alleviate it... and to get used to handling handheld consoles.
