Pokémon GO

It has been long time... well, I've been trying to master soloist path of Tier 3. Still has difficulty with fire husky....

On names though, I rarely sort them. Most of my elites already has their own nicknames like in main series and I could remember their sets. Although I also make some convention such as naming Stone Edge Ttar beginning with with ゴ / Go (e.g. Gojira, Gozura, Gomera) while those with Crunch will have beginning ガ / Ga. IV are pretty much excluded once I have nickname on one mon.
Time to crack all the 10km eggs I've collected. I've been waiting for this, double dusts....

However, first world problems, excluding regionals and the two other beasts my pokedex is completed though so... feels bad....

Also, not that it matters much but, dusts from gym feeding isn't doubled? Sighs....

Anyway, Halloween also approaches quickly with PokeCen already doing campaigns for it and people drawing for it. I wonder, when will that start with this event first and what we will get too. Ha, at least these ghosts were good Pidgey replacement.

Okay... So a while back I put some of my strongest Pokémon somewhere in a gym, knowing it would get taken out in a few days at max.

We're now 3 weeks ahead in time and it still didn't get taken out... It has been in there for so long now that I even got the Gold medal for the gym. However, I do want my Pokémon back because 1) it's one of my strongest and 2) I don't get any benefits from it being in the gym for even longer.

How should I go about this? lol
Find who's been feeding it and ask them to stop. There should be natural CP decay otherwise.

Both of them are somewhat similar, with Moltres running at 180/251/184, and Entei 230/235/176. Theoretically, I prefer Moltres over Entei for pure damage output, as molt's last feasible breakpoint is at level 30.5 (there's another one at 40), while entei hits the same point at 38.5.
[This was all calculated against articuno]

TLDR; moltres because it does more damage, but both work

note: i don't actually have an entei so it's all very theoretical

Entei and Moltres: Entei does more damage over time than Moltres does. Against neutral targets, Entei is straight up better because of its bulk giving it more damage over time than Moltres. Entei is the go-to generalist.

Moltres is the go-to specialist. Why? It has double resists to things like Bug and Grass, so it will have more bulk vs things like Bullet Seed Exeggutor while also outputting more damage than Entei would. On resists alone:

Moltres does better vs: Bug, Grass, Ground, Fighting...
Entei does better vs: Ice, Electric

So, unlike Raikou and Zapdos where Raikou is significantly better, both Entei and Moltres are incredibly similar and it's honestly up to preference. If you want an attacker you can throw at anything, go Entei. If you want something that specifically answers to certain raid bosses, go Moltres.

Yeah sure, there's CP decay. But at a certain point the CP doesn't get lower and the Pokémon stay in until they get kicked out. The gym is in a remote area, so the chance of someone playing PoGo there is almost 0%

I'm sure a virtuous spoofer like OM can kick it out for you if you ask, Fluke.

Really looking forward to the double stardust event. Snagged a 100% Larvitar recently that I really want to power up, then have a couple others such as Espeon and Charizard that could use some love.

How do you guys go about powering stuff up? I used to power up everything I could before I realised how costly it can get. Now i attempt to bring Pokemon that are useful in the meta above 89% to level 30, and every 100% mon i attempt to max out. Means i never have more than 10k stardust at a time, but i don't see any point in hoarding it like so many people do if it's gonna be used anyway. This is to give me a motive to use lesser used Pokemon such as my Sneasel and Feraligatr in gyms and raids, since it's more fun to battle with something quirky but still the best possible version of that mon.

I've had a really bad habit of maxing things that I definitely shouldn't, so i've gotten a lot of stuff like espeon, magmar, machamp, exeggutor, and others that don't get as much love as they used to (exception being machamp because he's a champ lol), and of course the gym relevant things in the old meta, like Tyranitars, Dragonites, Snorlaxes, Blisseys, Vaporeons.

Now I'm stocking for the relevant birds and dogs(or whatever you want to call them) and hoping for 15 attack/other good stats to make them good attackers. In the long run, you want attackers because that racks up coinage, while it's not as beneficial to put dust into defenders which get decayed down anyways. While i wouldn't necessarily put it into sneasel or feraligatr, I really can't talk because I've maxed worse lol

Raid Boss counters. Since the raid system released, I've powered up Lugia, Moltres and Raikou to max. Everything else being powered up before the rework when they were relevant.

Nothing else is worth powering up. Defenders are pointless (imo). Everyone has a powered up Dragonite to clear any gym (including weakened ones).

It's sad but Niantic ruined the competitive aspect of the game to me so I see no reason in investing dust in things made obsolete by most legends and pseudos.

At least though, I don't really regret raising my Thunder birb. An extra power against Vaporeon in solo raid is good and I can never know what will happen with Raikou considering its significantly lower catch rate once it comes here. But since I've raised my own Vaporeon Naval Brigade and had at least one S rank Flareon, that I've never raised a great Jolteon I'd probably regret more.

My goal is pretty much only mastering soloist path now (and anticipating possible future raids). I don't need more than one dragon to clear things up, although Ttars help later with many raids. I may regret it though but oh well... yesterday a Gengar caused quite a damage to my supplies by forcing me to raise an Espeon. At least it was good enough with max Atk and A rank....

Since I'm going to get booted out quickly anyway, I just drop random Vaporeon in gyms and make impressions....

one more hour until the event starts so I'm looking forward to the extra stardust as I'll start using the incense I've been holding on more often now. Even though I have a 96% raikou I don't intend to start powering it up until the change in legendary raid bosses by October 1 as I'm speculating North America could get suicune, 50% chance of course.

About maxing out, I only max. out T-Tar, Dragonite, Machamp and Gyaru these days. It costs so much. If I ever find a 90%+ I'll max it as well.

ooh I forgot to check my pre-dust count which I estimate is around 220000. I purchased the special box for 480 coins which I intend to use the new incubators for any 10k eggs I get. of the new 2k eggs I've hatched so far have included a tyrogue and chansey, and I finally have a good reason to use incense as an effort to accumulate more precious stardust.

As far as any future mewtwo EX invites, I'm hitting up as many sprint or starbuck raids within the area that I can get to so hopefully I'll see that invite finally. My streak of catching raikou successfully is now at 9 as my method of being consistent with curve/great along with switching berries has seemed to work, and hopefully stays that way especially when it comes time to raid mewtwo and whatever next legendary arrives in the next cycle.

Don't forget Entei isn't as hurt by Rock, in comparison to Moltres.
You told me what I know, types are obvious. It's just that the only Raid Grass types are Exeggutor and Venusaur, and Machamp is the only Fighting Raid boss, is Moltres really with using at all?

Against Rhydon, the only Ground type Raid boss, it is basically afraid of Stone Edge, but can handle its other moves.

Point is you would use a better match up anyway, the reason I asked is bc I remember you said Moltres is the best Fire type bc it is better than Ho-oh due to Quick move Fire attacks only on Moltres, but now you are saying, in general, Entei is better.

i know you might not like the answer: create another account and since they are likely at 0CP anyways, just beat them with that account. If it helps, only ever use it for this purpose. Otherwise you will possibly never get them back, especially if no one else will do it for you... seriously.

i still think Blissey is relevant. My 38.5 level Blissey doesn't go down that easily, although my Snorlax does. I think you are right overall, exception being Miss Bliss

Moltres is better than Ho-oh move wise, yes, while Entei is the best generalist. I think you're not getting the difference between specialists and generalists, because moltres hits things like exeggutor much harder than entei will, but doesn't survive as well.

we don't like this answer because that directly goes against the Terms of Service, and many communities frown down upon "shaving" because nobody likes it. No matter how many arguments there might be about "just this once," there's no justifying it. One account.

Blissey is relevant as the "best" gym defender, but your 38.5 blissey is already decaying faster than barry allen. No matter how useful it is in terms of having people struggle with taking it down, it's still realistically going down in the same amount of time due to horrible decay rates.

OM! Idr but I'm pretty sure I probably said Moltres is better than Ho-oh but not better than Entei. I didn't mention the Rock weakness since if you're using either Moltres or Entei against Rock types I think it's fairly obvious who edges out... Moltres vs Ground move using Rock-types and Entei vs the rest. EDIT: Rock Smash and Megahorn on Rhydon favor Moltres too.

They both rly are similar sans their performances as a generalist / specialist so dust should go into one and you should be ok. Ho-oh does not hold a candle to either unless it gets Hidden Power.

Even if I'd make another account (which I don't want); I'll never get to that gym again. It's in a remote area and I'm not planning to go there since it's hella far away in the middle of nowhere. I just happened to be there for a videoshoot, not planning on going there ever again.

If you don't want to do it, I can do it for you. You can let me know the cross streets, town, state. Or private message me, if you don't feel comfortable that's fine.

An easy way is to screen shot the gym, then I can google the coordinates and do it for you. That way "you" did not do anything wrong.
